  • In multicell wireless systems with insufficient frequency reuse, user transmission will suffer other-cell interference (OCI). Cell cooperation is an effective way to mitigate OCI and increase the system sum rate. An adaptive scheme for serving one user in each cell was proposed in [1]. In this paper, we generalize that scheme by serving two users in each cell with adaptive zeroforcing beamforming (ZF) strategies. Based on our derived statistics of the signal-to-noise plus interference ratios, we choose the scheme to maximize the total ergodic sum-rate based on user locations. Through the numerical examples, we show that the total system sum rate can be improved by selecting appropriate transmitting strategy adaptively. As a result, our proposed system can explore spatial multiplexing gain without additional power and thus improves total system sum rate significantly.

  • In this paper, we investigate the performance evaluation of three dimensional (3D) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems with an adjustable base station (BS) antenna tilt angle and zero-forcing (ZF) receivers in Ricean/Lognormal fading channels. In particular, we take the lognormal shadow fading, 3D antenna gain with antenna tilt angle and path-loss into account. First, we derive a closed-form lower bound on the sum rate, then we obtain the optimal BS antenna tilt angle based on the derived lower bound, and finally we present linear approximations for the sum rate in high and low-SNR regimes, respectively. Based on our analytical results, we gain valuable insights into the impact of key system parameters, such as the BS antenna tilt angle, the Ricean K-factor and the radius of cell, on the sum rate performance of 3D MIMO with ZF receivers.

  • This paper proposes theorthogonal reference vectors selection method of the subspace interference alignment. The proposed method selects multiple orthogonal reference vectors instead of using one reference vector for all users at the same time. The proposed scheme selects a reference vector which maximizes a sum-rate for a certain cell, generates orthogonal vectors to the previous selected vector and selects the one of orthogonal vectors whose sum rate is maximized for each cell. Larger channel gain and sum-rate than the previous method can be obtained by selection degree of freedom. The computer simulation demonstrates the proposed method gives higher sum-rate compared with that of the previous reference vector selection method.

  • In this letter, the performance of the interference channel with continuously varying channel is evaluated by using interference alignment based on practical channel estimation and channel state information(CSI) feedback and ideal Doppler frequency estimation. In this paper, performance evaluation is performed in terms of sum rate for 3-user interference channel. And also, sum rate is measured according to frequency of channel estimation relating with the calculation complexity. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the conventional one which assumes that the channel is constant in a frame in some circumstances.

  • We propose a reference vector diversity method in multi-cell multi-user uplink system with the subspace interference alignment to obtain higher sum rate capacity. The proposed method transmits several reference vectors before the data transmission, and selects the best reference vector to maximize the cell sum rate. The proposed method provides higher sum-rate capacity compared with the previous interferenc alignment. Simulation result exhibits the proposed method improves the sum-rate capacity by 60%.

  • We propose a user selection method in multi-cell multiuser uplink system with the subspace interference alignment to maintain the high sum-rate capacity. The proposed method selects users whose interference to adjacent cells are strong and apply the subspace interference alignment to the users. The proposed method provides that the number of users performing the interference alignment reduces and the high total sum-rate is maintained. Simulation results exhibit the proposed method reduces the number of users who would decompose the channel for the subspace interference alignment by 50% when the required sum-rate is 90% of the maximal achievable sum-rate.

  • The recent advances in wireless networks area have led to new techniques, such as small cells or full-duplex (FD) transmission, have also been developed to further increase the network capacity. Particularly, full-duplex communication promises expected throughput gain by doubling the spectrum compared to half-duplex (HD) communication. Because this technique permits one set of frequencies to simultaneously transmit and receive signals. In this paper, we focus on the binary power control for the users and the base stations in full-duplex multiple cellulars wireless networks to obtain optimal sum-rate under the effect interference and noise. We investigate with a scenario in there one carrier is assigned to only one user in each cell and construct a model for this problem. In this work, we apply the binary power control by the its simplification in the implemented algorithm for both uplink and downlink simultaneously to maximize sum data rate of the system. At first, we realize the 2-cells case separately to check the optimal power allocation whether being binary. Then, we carry on with N-cells case in general through properties of binary power control.

  • In this paper, we present a closed-form approximation of the average sum rate of zero-forcing (ZF) beamforming (BF) with semi-orthogonal user selection (SUS). We first derive the survival probability associated with the SUS that absolute square of the channel correlation between two users is less than the orthogonalization level threshold (OLT).With this result, each distribution for the number of surviving users at each iteration of the SUS and the number of streams for transmission is calculated. Secondly, the received signal power of ZF-BF is represented as a function of the elements of the upper triangular matrix from QR decomposition of the channel matrix. Thirdly, we approximate the received signal power of ZF-BF with the SUS as the maximum of scaled chisquare random variables where the scaling factor is approximated as a function of both OLT and the number of users in the system. Putting all the above derivations and order statistics together, the approximated ergodic sum rate of ZF-BF with the SUS is shown in a closed form. The simulation results verify that the approximation tightly matches with the sample average for any OLT and even for a small number of users.

  • Relay has attracted great attention due to its inherent capability to extend the service coverage and combat shadowing in next generation mobile communication systems. So far, most relay technologies have been developed under the half-duplex (HD) constraint that prevents relays from transmitting and receiving at the same time. Although half-duplex relay (HDR) is easy to implement, it requires partitioning of resource for transmission and reception, reducing the whole system capacity. In this paper, we propose a multinser precoding and power control scheme with sum rate matching for a full-duplex (FD) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) relay. Full-duplex relay (FDR) can overcome the drawback of HDR by transmitting and receiving on the same frequency at the same time, while it is crucial to reduce the effect of self-interference that is caused by its own transmitter to its own receiver. The proposed precoding scheme cancels the self-interference of the FDR as well as to support multiuser MIMO. Moreover, we suggest a power allocation scheme for FD MIMO relay with the constraint that the sum rate of the relay's received data streams is equal to that of the relay's transmit data streams.

  • As the number of connected smart devices and applications increases explosively, the existing orthogonal multiple access (OMA) techniques have become insufficient to accommodate mobile traffic, such as artificial intelligence (AI) and the internet of things (IoT). Fortunately, non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) in the fifth generation (5G) mobile networks has been regarded as a promising solution, owing to increased spectral efficiency and massive connectivity. In this paper, we investigate the achievable data rate for non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) with negatively-correlated information sources (CIS). For this, based on the linear transformation of independent random variables (RV), we derive the closed-form expressions for the achievable data rates of NOMA with negatively-CIS. Then it is shown that the achievable data rate of the negatively-CIS NOMA increases for the stronger channel user, whereas the achievable data rate of the negatively-CIS NOMA decreases for the weaker channel user, compared to that of the positively-CIS NOMA for the stronger or weaker channel users, respectively. We also show that the sum rate of the negatively-CIS NOMA is larger than that of the positively-CIS NOMA. As a result, the negatively-CIS could be more efficient than the positively-CIS, when we transmit CIS over 5G NOMA networks.
