  • In this paper, we argue that characteristics of ubiquitous business are different from those of e-business or m-business. We have developed a u-business model development framework incorporating the concept of value co-creation experiences, which is a core of the ubiquitous business paradigm. The framework of u-business model development presented in this paper consists of eight steps such as defining of domain, discovery of opportunity nucleus, defining of potential co-creation experience environment, deriving candidates of u-business services, selecting u-business killer services, defining value propositions of u-business killer services, defining u-business killer service offerings, and drawing a resource map of u-business killer services. The proposed u-business model development framework offers useful guidelines for practitioners to develop successful u-business models under a ubiquitous business paradigm.

  • Many researchers and practitioners have paid much attention to identifying some critical factors for the successful implementation of the TPS, EDP and MIS. However, not much effort have been focused on the implementation issues of DSS which is different from TPS or MIS in terms of the scope of the system, evaluation criteria, decision types served, and level of users. Because of these differences, implemention of DSS should be planned and approached from different aspects of TPS, EDP and MIS. A conceptual model includes four characteristics as independent variables and three dependent variables such as system usage, user's satisfaction, and user's attitude. This paper is to empirically prove the usefulness of the model and to identify a model for the successful implementation of DSS in Korea. It will provide a better understanding of the variables associated with the successful DSS implementation.

Despite, there has been some uncertainty about the e-commerce impacts for developing countries. The sufficient basic infrastructural deficiency, socio-political, economic and the lack of government public ICT policies have formed the significant barriers to the adoption and e-commerce growth in developing countries. Even though there are many researchers have found the common barriers to e-commerce in the developing nations, all business models targeting those countries are not equally successful. Small companies' persistence failed to challenge the e-commerce barriers in Cambodia because the firms didn't know the correct business model to succeed in this country online market. Therefore, this study will discuss the existing barriers which lead to limit e-commerce growth in Cambodia and the suggested solutions with the suitable business model for the e-commerce business in the country too.

  • Purpose - The main purpose of this study is to contribute to the elevation of producers' production at various levels by proposing the creation of producer improvement indexes that can be used for the successful 6th industrialization of Korean agribusiness based on the Kano model and has synergistic effects on the development of the 6th industry through scientific researches. Research design, data, methodology - To this end, this study derived better and worse index from the same estimation of Timko's customer satisfaction index as in the evaluation charts used in previous researches and theoretical studies on the Kano model. Results - In this paper, we suggested that the formula for producing PSCI Index be applied to yield the producer improvement index in the 6th industry, in order to draw SIPPI. Conclusions - If this suggestion is realized, then a lot of researchers will be supported to more systematically study producers, and it is expected to contribute to the development of the 1th industry, a basis for the successful 6th industry. Moreover, the central government and municipalities are expected to provide a variety of clues for applying various policies for successful agribusiness.

  • This paper tries to apply the standard method for the estimation of range and degree of fisheries damages caused by warm water drained by generating plants to a real situation. The theoretic foundation of the study has been shown in the article published on the journal of fisheries business administration of last year. The paper tries to examine the degree of external appicability of the theoretic model through empirical study. The results of the study are as follows. The model has been found a successful device for the estimation of fisheries damages caused by warm water drained by generating plants. It also shows a possibility to work in any other fisheries damage cases caused by several kinds of public undertaking on coastal areas. The key of the model is the successful derivation of the quantity amount of the critical variation of environmental factors for example, in this case, water thermal variation. Therefore the countinous and appropriate collection of law data on the environmental factors under a viewpoint of statistics is essential to the usefulness of the model.

  • The process of three-dimensional (3D) printing (also known as "rapid prototyping" and "additive manufacturing") uses computer-created digital models to produce 3D objects with a desired shape by stacking materials through a layer-by-layer process. The industrial potential and feasibility of 3D printing technology were recently highlighted in President Obama's State of the Union address in 2013. Since his speech, worldwide investment in and attention toward 3D printing technology have increased explosively. In addition, a number of 3D printing technology-based start-up companies have been established and evaluated as emerging enterprises making successful business models. In this paper, successful start-up companies (domestic and overseas) based on 3D printing technology will be reviewed.

  • Purpose: This paper has examined the impact of open innovation business model in technology commercialization with the data from 30 companies of manufacturing firms in South Korea. Methods: The findings provide support for distinguishing five hypotheses relating to development time, IP management, sales, firm size and R&D intensity. To test the hypotheses, data were collected using via e-mail and fax. Small and medium-sized (less than 300 employees) and large industrial firms were chosen for this study. Results: The result shows that openness in its business model is positively associated with successful technology commercialization. Conclusion: The major findings and the implications are: First, as the business model gets more open, development period of technology will be more favorable which gets benefit from rising costs of innovation. Second, as the business model gets more open, large portion of sales are created from new products. Thus, the problem of shorter product life in the market which affects large portion of market revenue can be solved through an open business model. Third, in general, R&D intensity, firm size and the level of IP management affect determination of business model types. The findings also suggest that companies need to increasingly address their external technology exploitation process instead of focusing on their internal innovation processes.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the influence that factors for a successful venture have on business performance. To fulfill this goal, factors for a successful venture are presupposed as the four elements of business creator, technological innovation, type of strategy, and organization, while business performance is set as subordinate variable, with a view to creating a model and establishing a hypothesis for a positive analysis. Data collection for the positive analysis was conducted using a questionnaire, and as for sampling, of the companies located in Seoul and greater metropolitan region and registered with Small and Medium Business Administration as of late December 2012, 98 companies have been selected for the final data. And I have come up with the two following results. First, factors for venture success have all proven to exercise statistically significant influence on business performance. Second, of all factors for venture success, business creator and technological innovation exercise huge influence on business performance, as compared to the other factors. From these two conclusions, it is understood that to upgrade business performance of a venture, business creator and technological innovation should be given priority over the other factors.
