유전 알고리즘을 이용한 지하철 객차 내 승객의 최적대피경로 탐색 (Research finding optimized evacuation route of people in subway passenger cars using genetic algorithm)

  • There have been subway conflagrations such as Daegu subway conflagration at 2003, Washington D.C conflagration last month and so on. Compared to that, proper evacuation route is far from satisfactory. So this paper suggests optimized route when subway's passengers evacuate from passenger cars. For conducting our experiment, We made temporarily a model of subway station which is made up with 8 passengers cars and 3 exits. Using genetic algorithm, we found the optimized route that first and second passenger cars are optimized to first exit and third, fourth, fifth and sixth passengers cars are optimized to second exit and finally seventh, eighth passengers cars are optimized to third exit. It is expected that real subway station is applied to our experiment by developing passenger distribution algorithm.

  • The spatial limitations of urban environments in general lead to invention and design of a wide range of underground transportation systems such as subways, underground roads and paths, etc. Among them, the application of subway systems in metropolitan cities is most commonly observed to ease those confronted difficulties on this purpose. It in turn leaves passengers and workers to be exposed to indoor air potentially polluted by various sources existing in this underground environment. Specifically when considering the IAQ in a subway station, there exist many IAQ-related parameters to be counted either as individual or as integrated exposures. In this study, a model system has been developed to manage the general IAQ in a subway station. Field survey and $CO_2$ measurements were initially conducted to analyze and understand the relationship between the indoor and outdoor air quality while considering the internal pollution sources such as passengers, subway trains, etc. The measurement data were then employed for the model development with other static information. For the model development, the algorithm of simple continuity was built and applied to model the subway IAQ concerned. In this paper, the recent updated draft version of model developed will be reported and demonstrated.

COVID-19 확산에 따른 사회적 거리두기 동안 나타나는 서울시 지하철 통행 변화와 역 배후지역의 지리적 특성 (Changes in Subway Traffic in Seoul during Social Distancing due to the Spread of COVID-19 and G eographic Characteristics of the Area Behind the Station)

  • 본 연구는 서울지역 COVID-19 확진자의 증가와 지하철 통행의 감소 변화에서 나타나는 특징을 파악하고, 이들 간의 상관관계에 근거하여 추출한 주성분을 바탕으로 지하철역을 군집 분류하고 군집별 특성을 분석하였다. 특히 COVID-19 확산 이전인 2019년부터 사회적 거리두기가 지속된 2020년까지 서울 지하철역별 시간대별, 주별, 월별 지하철 통행의 변화 패턴을 살펴보고, 통행 증가형과 감소형 역으로 구분한 후 감소형 중 상위 10분 위에 해당하는 역, 하위 10분위에 해당하는 역의 인구 및 토지이용 특성을 파악하였다. 분석 결과, COVID-19 확진과 지하철 통행은 서로 부(-)의 상관관계를 나타냈고, 지하철 통행과 역 배후지 토지이용 특성에 따라 서울 지하철체계를 구성하는 역들은 6개 유형으로 군집화되었다. 통행 감소 상위 10분위에 속하는 역은 낮 시간대 선택 통행의 분포가 높고, 역 배후지는 상업용 및 문화, 교육과 사회활동 관련 토지이용이 상대적으로 높아 향후 전염병 종료에 따른 지역 회복성도 매우 탄력적으로 반응할 것으로 전망된다.

출입문 개폐에 의한 전동차 객실 CO2 저감효과 분석 (Quantitative Analysis of CO2 Reduction by Door-opening in the Subway Cabin)

  • The guidelines for indoor air quality of public transportations such as subway, train and bus was presented by Korean Ministry of Environment last end of year 2006 based on the great consequence of indoor air quality in daily life. Two main parameters, carbon dioxide($CO_2$) and particulate matters smaller than $10\;{\mu}m(PM_{10})$, were selected as index pollutants for the management of indoor air quality. The former pollutant, $CO_2$, is regarded as index of ventilation status and the major source of $CO_2$ in the train or subway is the exhalation of passengers. It is publically perceived that the high $CO_2$ concentration in a crowded subway will be reduced and ventilated with outdoor air by door-opening taken every 2 or 3 minutes when the train stops each station. However, there has not been any scientific proof and quantitative information on the effect of door-opening on the $CO_2$ reduction by ventilation with outdoor air. In this study, $CO_2$ concentration and number of passengers were measured at each station on the 3 lines of Korail metropolitan subway. In order to evaluate the effect of $CO_2$ reduction by door opening, the theoretical approach using the $CO_2$ balance equation was performed. By comparing the predicted data with monitoring one, the optimum $CO_2$ dilution factor was determined. For the first time, it was quantified that about 35% of $CO_2$ concentration in the subway indoor was removed by the door-opening at each station.

서울시 일부 지하철역 내 분포하는 부유 세균 및 입자상 오염물질 평가 (Assessment of Airborne Bacteria and Particulate Matters Distributed in Seoul Metropolitan Subway Stations)

  • In activity areas of subway workers and passengers in Seoul metropolitan subway lines 1-4, mein concentrations of airborne bacteria were relatively higher in workers' bedroom and station precinct whereas concentrations of particulate matters, $PM_{10}$ and $PM_{2.5}$, were relatively higher in platform, inside train and driver's seat as compared with other activity areas. This result indicates that little correlation between airborne bacteria and particulate matters was found, which assumed that most airborne particulate matters distributed in subway consisted of mainly inorganic dust like a metal particles. Mean concentrations of $PM_{10}$ and $PM_{2.5}$ in station precinct and platform exceeded the threshold limit value ($PM_{10}:150{\mu}g/m^3,\;PM_{2.5}:65{\mu}g/m^3$) but those in station office and ticket office were below it. The genera identified in all the activity areas of subway over 5% detection rate were Staphylococcus, Micrococcus, Bacillus and Corynebacterium, of which Staphylococcus and Micrococcus covered over 50% of total airborne bacteria and were considered as predominant genera distributed in subway.

The Application of Network Theory to Subway Transportation in Seoul, Korea

  • Network approach is used to find the shortest paths and transportation time between the subway stations in Seoul, Korea. Because of transfer stations, we reconstruct the subway network to compute the shortest routes and corresponding transportation times. The reconstructed network is useful to obtain desired information because it can handle the transfer time between tracks. Time and route information about the subway system is obtained and it will be displayed in the subway guide board at each station. Then, all passengers can have the information of shortest route to a destination and corresponding transportation time.

  • Recent development cases of transportation utilities using tunnelling method in metropolitan sites have been increased due to the heavily complex environments and restrictions of construction works. The progress of tunnel design and construction to be supported by the tunnel analysis and measurement techniques using computers have increased adoptions of large section tunnels. In this paper, many factors to be considered in designing large section tunnels are discussed and the case of the construction of the subway station tunnel which is recently completed is introduced. This tunnel has a width of 24 m, a height of 16 m, and a excavation section area of 366 ㎡.

  • Management of indoor air quality of underground subway station is an important issue. The air handling unit (AHU) installed in the underground subway station is the main facility determining the air quality of station. Especially for removing particulate matters, it is important to operate the appropriate air filter. In this study, we studied particle collection efficiency of axail-flow cyclone for subway AHU. The particle collection efficiencies of axial-flow cyclones with three different outlet shape have been evaluated.

  • 본 연구에서는 대심도 지하역사에서 화원 위치에 따른 연기거동의 특징을 분석하였다. 전산수치해석에 FDS code가 사용되었다. 화재에 의한 유체거동을 모사하기 위하여 난류모델은 LES를 사용하였으며, 빠른 계산을 수행하기 위하여 병렬수치해석기법을 사용하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 대심도 역사에서 화재시 피난을 저해하는 화원의 위치에 대하여 검토하였다.

  • Electrostatic Precipitators have been used widely in industry, and play an important role in environmental protection. Electrostatic Precipitators (ESP) can be operated with a high collection efficiency and low pressure drop. Pulse energization is a technique to cope with high resistivity dust, and this results in lower power consumption. In this paper, Pulse energization ESP to use subway station air clean in subway station, design and test a pulse power supply for ESP.
