Improvement of Performance of Thick High Dielectric Patch Antennas Using Photonic Bandgap Structures (포토닉 밴드갭 구조를 이용한 두껍고 큰 유전상수 패치 안테나의 성능 향상)

  • This paper presents that photonic bandgap structures suppressing the propagation of surface waves can improve the performance of the patch antennas on thick high dielectric constant substrate. The forbidden propagation of surface wave due to the photonic bandgap enhances the radiation efficiency and reduce the back radiation drastically with maintaining the small size and wide bandwidth of the antennas.

  • There is close relation between the heat generation and the performance of electronic device. The durability and efficiency of the device are degraded due to heat generation. It is necessary to release the generated heat from an electronic device. Based on demands of the printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing, the robust and reliable plating technique of PCB is necessary. In this study, we review various methods for improving the heat sink property. These methods were considered to enhance the adhesion between ceramic substrate as heat sink and metal layer as electrode.

  • This paper presents a patch antenna design method using microwave dielectric ceramic substrate. Before manufactirung the GPS(Global Positioning System)antenna such contents as input impedence resonent frequency and quality factor and efficiency are surveyed theolitically for design and parameters for manufacturing the antenna are found.

  • 본 연구는 태양전지의 광학적 효율 개선을 위한 표면처리에 관한 것으로써 유리 기판에 대해 반응성 이온 식각을 이용한 플라즈마 건식 표면처리를 진행하였다. 플라즈마 표면처리 조건의 변화에 따라 다양한 표면 요철을 형성하였으며, 이러한 요철의 조도에 따라 변화하는 광학적 특성을 관찰하였다. 또한 이러한 과정 중 식각 반응을 억제하는 inhibitor 막의 형성 기구와 inhibitor 막의 제거 기구에 대해서 규명하였으며 광학적 특성을 향상시킬 수 있는 플라즈마 표면처리 조건을 도출하였다.

  • 청색 발광 다이오드의 광추출 효율 향상 및 전기적 특성 향상을 위하여 기판이 되는 사파이어에 마이크로급 패턴을 형성하는 공정이 일반적으로 사용되고 있다. 기존의 공정과는 달리, 저가의 간단한 공정을 통해 쉽게 유사한 성능 향상을 얻기 위하여, 나노임프린트 리소그래피 공정을 도입하여 사파이어 기판 상에 일정한 주기와 형태를 갖는 나노 패턴을 형성하였으며, 이를 이용하여 제작한 발광 다이오드의 성능이 전기적, 광학적 측면에서 크게 향상되었음을 확인할 수 있었다.

A Study on the Optical Properties of Lithium Injection in V$_2$O$_{5}$ Electrochromic Thin Films (리튬이 주입된 전기변색 V$_2$O$_{5}$ 박막의 광 특성에 관한 연구)

  • The electrochromic properties of vacuum deposited V$_2$O$_{5}$ thin films as a function of crystallinity and film thickness have been systematically investigated. The as-deposited films have slightly yellow appearance. V$_2$O$_{5}$ films deposited at higher substrate temperature(>14$0^{\circ}C$) are found to be crystalline while those deposited at low substrate temperature are amorphous. The optical modulation on lithium ion injection indicates that V$_2$O$_{5}$ films exhibit anodic coloration in the 300~500 nm wavelength range and cathodic coloration in the 500~1100nm wavelength range independent of crystallinity and film thickness. The optical band gap energy of crystalline and amorphous Li$_{x}$ VV$_2$O$_{5}$ films shifts to higher energies by 0.17 eV and 0.75 eV, respectively, with increasing lithium ion injection up to x=0.6. The coloration efficiency of amorphous Li$_{x}$ V$_2$O$_{5}$ exhibits very little dependence on film thickness and lithium ion injection amounts in the near-infrared while it increases significantly with increasing film thickness and decreasing lithium ion injection amounts in the blue and near-UV due to the shift in absorption edge below around 500nm. However, the coloration efficiency of crystalline Li$_{x}$ V$_2$O$_{5}$is relatively independent of film thickness and lithium ion injection in the 300~1100 nm wavelength range.

Comparison of particle removal efficiency between the physical cleaning methods in the fabrication of liquid crystal displays (LCD 제조공정에서 물리적 세정법의 미립자 제거효율 비교 연구)

  • As the fabrication technology of LCDs (Liquid Crystal Displays) advances, the size of mother glass substrates is getting larger, and the fabrication process is becoming finer. Accordingly, the importance of cleaning processes grows in the fabrication process of LCDs. In this study, we have compared and evaluated the particle removal efficiency for three different methods of physical cleaning, which are brush, bubble jet, and aqua/air cleaning. Using the seventh generation glass substrate, the particle removal efficiency has been investigated by changing operation conditions such as a flow rate of deionized water, pressure, contact depth between a brush bristle and a glass substrate, and so forth. In the case of brush cleaning, the cleaning efficiency barely changes after a critical point when the contact depth is varied. While the cleaning efficiency of bubble jet cleaning is almost independent of pressure, that of aqua/air cleaning is affected by pressure up to a critical point, but is not changed after it. We note the brush cleaning is the most effective among the three cleaning methods under our experimental conditions.

Evaluation of nitrogen oxide removal characteristics using TiO2 (TiO2를 이용한 질소산화물 제거 특성 평가)

  • Fine dust in air pollutants is recognized as one of the most serious social environmental problems. Most of the NOx is generated in a combustion process such as that of a coal-fired power plant, and therefore efficient elimination of the NOx from the coal-fired power plants is needed. This study investigates the removal efficiency of using $TiO_2$, a photocatalyst, to remove NOx by Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR). To evaluate the NOx removal efficiency, $TiO_2$ catalyst and phosphate binder were mixed on the surface of the $Al_2O_3$ substrate with the exothermic agent, and the substrate was heat-treated. The NOx removal efficiency of the catalysts was evaluated according to the temperature, and XRD, SEM, TG-DTA and BET analyzes were performed to investigate the physicochemical properties of the catalysts. NOx removal efficiency was 58.7%~65.9% at 20min, 63.7~66.0% at 30min with temperature change according to time($250^{\circ}C{\sim}500^{\circ}C$). The $TiO_2$ used in the SCR for NOx removal is judged to have the most efficient removal efficiency at $300^{\circ}C$.
