A Study on the Subjectivity Recognition of Superior Hotel Employees for Menu Promotion (메뉴프로모션에 대한 특급호텔 종사원의 주관적 인식에 관한 연구)

  • This study aimed to analyze the influence relations by applying Q methodology to five-star hotel restaurants' culinary staffs through the research on the subjectivity of five-star hotels' restaurant menu promotion on culinary staffs' job satisfaction and work devotion. This paper largely suggested two research questions like following. Research Question 1: How is the acceptance type of culinary staffs' job satisfaction and work devotion regarding five-star hotels' restaurant promotion? Research Question2: What are the homogeneous characteristics and the implications shown in the acceptance type of culinary staffs' job satisfaction and work devotion regarding five-star hotels' restaurant promotion? In the results of typological analysis based on such research questions, total three types were drawn. In detail, the type1(N=13)(Active personal development type), the type2(N=10)(Normal menu pursuit type), and type3(N=2(Enterprise development pursuit type) showed distinctive characteristics to each other. Researching five-star hotels' culinary staffs' subjective cases, this study could not comparatively analyze diverse cases. Also, in the future, the follow-up research aims to gradually conduct more diversified and objective analysis by developing more detailed questions and analysis method of Q methodology.

A Subjectivity on High School Students' Perception of Male Home Economics Teachers (고등학생의 남자 가정과교사 인식에 관한 주관성 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine high school students' perception of male home economics teachers and identify diverse viewpoints. To this end, the Q method was used, which is useful for operant subjectivity studies in which research participants create their own opinions and viewpoints. Based on the general procedures of the Q method, this study finalized 40 statements comprised of the representational system of high school students on male home economics teachers, which are Q samples, from the Q population. The statements were Q-sorted by P samples comprised of 31 high school seniors and analyzed using the QUANL program. The results showed that there were 4 different viewpoints of high school students on male home economics teachers. The type 1 focused on individual traits, claiming that the 'male' gender of home economics teachers and the 'home economics' subject are merely individual traits of the teachers. The type 2 focused on the subject, perceiving male home economics teachers with focus on the subject of home economics. The type 3 focused on competencies, thinking that male home economics teachers have sufficient skills and competencies to teach home economics. Finally, the type 4 focused on character, valuing the character of the teachers and thinking that male home economics teachers are great teachers who took up the challenge of teaching home economics. This study has significance as it provides the basic data for in-depth understanding of students' perception of male home economics teachers in individual context.

Global Big Data Analysis Exploring the Determinants of Application Ratings: Evidence from the Google Play Store

  • Purpose - This paper empirically investigates the predictors and main determinants of consumers' ratings of mobile applications in the Google Play Store. Using a linear and nonlinear model comparison to identify the function of users' review, in determining application rating across countries, this study estimates the direct effects of users' reviews on the application rating. In addition, extending our modelling into a sentimental analysis, this paper also aims to explore the effects of review polarity and subjectivity on the application rating, followed by an examination of the moderating effect of user reviews on the polarity-rating and subjectivity-rating relationships. Design/methodology - Our empirical model considers nonlinear association as well as linear causality between features and targets. This study employs competing theoretical frameworks - multiple regression, decision-tree and neural network models - to identify the predictors and main determinants of app ratings, using data from the Google Play Store. Using a cross-validation method, our analysis investigates the direct and moderating effects of predictors and main determinants of application ratings in a global app market. Findings - The main findings of this study can be summarized as follows: the number of user's review is positively associated with the ratings of a given app and it positively moderates the polarity-rating relationship. Applying the review polarity measured by a sentimental analysis to the modelling, it was found that the polarity is not significantly associated with the rating. This result best applies to the function of both positive and negative reviews in playing a word-of-mouth role, as well as serving as a channel for communication, leading to product innovation. Originality/value - Applying a proxy measured by binomial figures, previous studies have predominantly focused on positive and negative sentiment in examining the determinants of app ratings, assuming that they are significantly associated. Given the constraints to measurement of sentiment in current research, this paper employs sentimental analysis to measure the real integer for users' polarity and subjectivity. This paper also seeks to compare the suitability of three distinct models - linear regression, decision-tree and neural network models. Although a comparison between methodologies has long been considered important to the empirical approach, it has hitherto been underexplored in studies on the app market.

  • The purpose of this study was to apply Q methodology to the graduate students who have a good reputation in the food service industry in Seoul, in order to grasp the subjective perception of the customers about the small-scale banquet menu promotion of luxury hotels. As a result of the type analysis, a total of four were derived. Type 1 (N = 4): Banquet menu configuration comparison type, Type 2 (N = 5): Banquet food hygiene-seeking at a Type, Type 3 (N = 3): Banquet menu quality satisfied type, Type 4 (N = 6): Banquet course focus type. Based on this study, it will be used as basic data for the direction of the development of small-scale banquet menu promotion of the luxury hotel, the boom of the domestic hotel industry, and the service quality in the future.

A Study on the Subjectivity of Hotel Employees about Followership (팔로워십에 대한 호텔직원의 주관성 연구)

  • This study aims to identify the types and characteristics of followership perceived by hotel employees as emotional workers in terms of the diagnosis of their fellowship awareness toward their managers and the detailed patterns of subjective followership. The Q methodology is applied to find out the types of followership of hotel employees, the similarities and differences between each type, and the meanings of each type. A total of 40 questions are selected for the Q sample. The analysis shows that there are four types such as 'organizational oriented', 'individual oriented', 'adaptive oriented' and 'critical passive oriented'. It also shows that each type has a unique characteristic, and identifies the items in the all four types that they share or do not. This study is expected to present a new perspective on hotel management by identifying the characteristics of the followership from the perspective of the hotel staff who are supposed to do some emotional labor caused by the emotional dissonance hotel staff suffer.

  • This monograph was probed effectively by using practical methods in a subjectivity study that was accessible in depth, departing from bygone behavior of functional quantity analysis of awareness and the opinions of young people about the general (public) model of TV advertising. The perception patterns resolved in this study sorted out four types in a Q-methodology. The result is divided as follows: 1 [(N=7): Advertising Consensus Type], 2 [(N=7): Advertising Negative Type], 3 [(N=5): Advertising Purchasing Reduction Type], and 4 [(N=1): Advertising Persuasion Orientation Type]. As such, we found very different types all over. Finally, this study reviews subjective acceptance as to the type of model reception with regard to general TV advertising, offering a developmental suggestion on the issue, and an agenda about it.

Customer Satisfaction Analysis for Global Cosmetic Brands: Text-mining Based Online Review Analysis (글로벌 화장품 브랜드의 소비자 만족도 분석: 텍스트마이닝 기반의 사용자 후기 분석을 중심으로)

  • Purpose: This study introduces a systematic framework to evaluate service satisfaction of cosmetic brands through online review analysis utilizing Text-Mining technique. Methods: The framework assumes that the service satisfaction is evaluated by positive comments from online reviews. That is, the service satisfaction of a cosmetic brand is evaluated higher as more positive opinions are commented in the online reviews. This study focuses on two approaches. First, it collects online review comments from the top 50 global cosmetic brands and evaluates customer service satisfaction for each cosmetic brands by applying Sentimental Analysis and Latent Dirichlet Allocation. Second, it analyzes the determinants that induce or influence service satisfaction and suggests the guidelines for cosmetic brands with low satisfaction to improve their service satisfaction. Results: For the satisfaction evaluation, online review data were extracted from the top 50 global cosmetic brands in the world based on 2018 sales announced by Brand Finance in the UK. As a result of the satisfaction analysis, it was found that overall there were more positive opinions than negative opinions and the averages for polarity, subjectivity, positive ratio, and negative ratio were calculated as 0.50, 0.76, 0.57, and 0.19, respectively. Polarity, subjectivity and positive ratio showed the opposite pattern to negative ratio, and although there was a slight difference in fluctuation range and ranking between them, the patterns are almost same. Conclusion: The usefulness of the proposed framework was verified through case study. Although some studies have suggested a method to analyze online reviews, they didn't deal with the satisfaction evaluation among competitors and cause analysis. This study is different from previous studies in that it evaluates service satisfaction from a relative point of view among cosmetic brands and analyze determinants.

  • 본 논문에서는 Q방법론을 중심으로 대학생들의 지역 기업브랜드 광고의 효용성 인식을 진단하고, 기능적인 측면에서 세부적인 효과요인들을 짚어보고자 하였다. 이에 본 연구에서는 위에서 제기된 사항들의 해답을 얻기 위하여 주관성연구 분석방법을 활용하였다. 앞으로 계량적인 실증적 연구와 관련 이해당사자들간의 종합적 비교와 대안책이 추가된다면, 지역 기업브랜드 광고의 효용성 인식에 대한 개선과 활성화를 위한 정책방향에 보다 심도 있는 연구결과가 제시될 수 있을 것으로 예상된다.

When he develops idea into the form, his works hold meditation and clear subjectivity. Alessandro Mendini makes us aware that his work of arts connects human spirit with thing.

  • 영화 장르에 있어 등장인물의 전형적인 이미지는 매우 중요한 관객 수용의 요인이 될 수 있다. 하지만 그럼에도 불구하고 영화 장르별 등장인물의 이미지 표현방법에 대한 관객 인식유형의 연구는 현재까지 많이 이루어지지 않고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 질적방법론 중 하나인 Q방법론을 사용하여 영화 장르 내 캐릭터이미지의 전형성에 대한 수용자의 주관적 감정의 상태를 유형별로 분석해 보았다.
