Exploring Individual Variables Affecting the Valuation of Time (시간의 가치 평가에 영향을 주는 개인차 요인의 탐색)

  • Delay of immediate gains/losses brings on additional gaines/losses as much as waiting period. However, there are individual difference in evaluating the value of delayed time discounting on the person. In this study, to investigates the individual differences about valuating the delayed time, it is ascertained the correlation between decisions from intertemporal choice task and individual differences of risk taking/perception, emotion, regulatory focus, and HPSP and BELT, subjective period measuring task. In Addition, it is analyzed the individual differences after classifying good/bad performer of intertemporal tasks and person who perceive long/short about the future periods. As a result, good performers of intertemporal task have high openness and perceive longer about 12 hours, 15 days, 6 months and 5 years. Reconstruction about future temporal length plays an important role on intertemporal task, and it is discussed about necessity of follow up study.

The Influence of the Consumers Value and Experience Quality on the Effects of Scarcity Message Types (소비가치와 경험적 제품평가가 희소성 메시지 효과에 미치는 영향)

  • The major aim of this study was to find out that the relation between consumers value and experience quality toward purchase intention in addition to the influence of the consumers value and experience quality on the effects of scarcity message types collaboration using limited edition in global SPA brand. As a result of an empirical analysis, it shows that consumers value and experience quality are co-related to the intention of purchase, especially, brand familiarity and reputation influenced scarcity valuation in the affirmative and both emotional value and epistemic value influenced the intention of purchase under scarcity message. The moderating effect of consumers value and experience quality however, turns out to be not significant although its effect is directionally supported that is purchase intention was high when scarcity message is shown. Moreover, emotional epistemic group was influenced by scarcity message so we found that consumers value is changed to emotional with subjective. This result indicates that we need the scarcity message type reflecting the characteristics of consumers value and experience quality to increase customer's purchase intention.

A Case of Urinary Incontinence Patients After Having an Vertebrae Lumbales Operation (요추부 수술후 발생한 요실금(尿失禁) 환자의 증례)

  • Objective : The purpose of this study is to show that there was a significant result in prescribing Herb remedy and Korean-Bee-Venom acupuncture and acupuncture & moxibustion therapy to Urinary incontinence patients due to Neurologic Bladder caused by Cauda equina syndrome after having an vertebrae lumbale operation. Method : The methods used in this study was observe the patient's subjective improvement, valuation of the bladder function and the change of the sensibility drop when Herb remedy and Korean-Bee-Venom acupuncture and acupuncture was applied. Results : When acupuncture and Korean-Bee-Venom acupuncture was both applied the function of Bladder changed from score 10 to 0 and the Grade of Urinary Incontinence changed from Grade III to 0 also with the sensibility drop. Conclusion : The results show that when using Umnungchon(SP9), Yangnungchon (GB34), Taedon(LR1), Kokkol(CV2) there was an effect to some degree to the Urinary incontinence patients but when Korean-Bee-Venom was acupunctured to Kwanwon(CV4) and Kihae(CV6) the effect increased. Further studies and examples for evidence are required.

  • IT(Information Technology)-based industries have caused a recent digital revolution and the appearance of various types' information service, being largely expanded toward info-communication device company, info-communication service company, software company etc.. Therefore, the needs to evaluate the company value of IT business for M&A or liquidation are growing tremendously. Unlike other industries, however, IT industry has a short lift cycle and so it doesn't have not only a company value-evaluating model for general businesses but the objective one for IT companies yet. So, this thesis analyzes various value-evaluating technique and newly rising ROV. DCF, the change method of company's cash flow including tangible assets into future value, had been applied during the past industrialization economy era and has been persuasively applied to the present. However, the DCF valuation has no option but to make many mistakes because IT companies have more intangible assets than tangible assets. Accordingly, it is ROV, recognized as the new method of evaluating companies' various options normally and quantitatively, that is brought up recently. But the evaluation on the companies' various options is too subjective and theoretical up to now and due to the lack of objective ground and options, it's not possible to be applied to reality. In this thesis, it is found that ROV is more accurate than DCF, comparing DCF and ROV through four examples. As the options applied to ROV are excessively limited, we tried to develop ROV into a new method by deriving five invisible value factors within IT companies. Therefore, on this occasion, we should set up the basic valuation methods on IT companies and should research and develop an effective and various valuation methods suitable to each company like an internet-based company, a S/W developing enterprise, a network-related company among IT companies.

Measuring Consumers' Welfare Losses due to Announcement of Resuming US-Beef Imports (미국산 쇠고기 수입재개 발표에 따른 소비자 후생손실 측정)

  • This paper measures welfare losses from beef consumption reduction, which might be resulted from psychological anxiety about potential outbreak of BSE (commonly known as "bad cow dieses") risks after announcement of resuming US-beef imports in April of 2008. Unlike the previous literature of utilizing the contingent valuation method or experimental market approach, this study estimated quality-differentiated consumer demand functions using the information of self-reported beef consumption quantity, individually constructed price indices of beef, and subjective perception of BSE risks. The empirical results based on a survey sample of 360 residents in Jeon Ju city were consistent with the anticipation from economic theory, in terms of coefficients of own prices, substitute prices and income variables. The announcement of resuming US-beef imports did not make significant differences in the sign and sizes of the main economic variables. However, the subjective perception variable about BSE risks had negative significant impacts on beef demand functions after the announcement but not significant before the announcement. The welfare losses in a form of equivalent variation (EV) corresponding to the increases in concerns about BSE risks were measured to be about 30 thousand won per household.
