대명석곡추출물이 Loperamide로 유도된 변비에 미치는 효과 (Effect of Dendrobium speciosum Var. Aqueous Extract on Loperamide-Induced Constipation in Rats)

  • Background : Irregular meals and insufficient exercise are major modern lifestyle-related risk factors for constipation. This study aimed to examine the effects of the aqueous extract of Dendrobium speciosum var. (DM) on the improvement of intestinal function and prevention of constipation in rats. Methods and Results : Constipation in rat was induced by loperamide (4 mg/kg) injection for 5 days and rats were randomly assigned to the following groups: normal control rats (NOR), constipated rats (LOP induced) and constipated rats supplemented with dulcolax-S (POS), DMSG, 100 mg/kg (DMSG-100), 300 mg/kg (DMSG-300) and 500 mg/kg (DMSG-500). The DMSG groups showed increments in the frequency and amount of stools compared to the LOP group. Loperamide treatment markedly reduced the water content of feces, whereas DMSG administration significantly increased fecal water contents. Moreover, DMSG improved intestinal transit speed in constipated-rats. Alcian blue staining revealed increased mucus production by crypt cells and mucus contents in feces and the mucosal surface. Conclusions : In summary, DM extraction significantly improves intestinal function in rats, which indicates the effectiveness of this extract in the prevention and treatment of constipation.

UWB 시스템에 의한 WiBro 시스템에서의 간섭영향에 관한 연구 (Analysis of Interference Impact of UWB System on WiBro System)

  • 본 논문에서는 3.1 GHz에서 10.6 GHz 주파수 대역을 사용하면서 실내 및 실외 통신에 적용되는 초 광대역(UWB) 시스템이 OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing)을 근간으로 한 2.3 GHz 대 WiBro(Wireless Broad-band )시스템에 미치는 간섭 영향에 대해 분석하였다. 최악의 상황을 고려하여 단일 UWB 간섭의 경우는 최소결합손실(MCL) 방법으로 간섭분석을 수행하였고, 다중 UWB 간섭인 경우는 실제 상황을 고려한 간섭 시나리오를 바탕으로 몬테칼로(MC) 방법으로 간섭 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. 분석 및 시뮬레이션 결과 두 시스템의 양립성을 보장하기 위해 단일 간섭 원 과 희생(victim) 수신기 사이의 이격 거리는 34.4m 이상이 요구되었다. 또한, 다중 UWB 간섭 원 인 경우에 WiBro 단말기의 최소 throughput 손실을 보장하기 위해 허용할 수 있는 UWB 송신전력 레벨은 약 - 81 dBm / MHz 이하로 요구되었다.

노인요양시설 거주노인의 활동공간 이용행동 및 점유행태 (A Study of the Residents' Use and Occupancy-Behavior in the Activity Areas of the Senior Nursing Facilities)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the residents' use and occupancy-behavior in the activity areas of the senior nursing facilities, and to provide basic information to establish the appropriate physical elements for planning the activity areas. For the study, the observations in five facilities were conducted for one day, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m by four researchers. The results of the study are summarized as follows: First, most of the using behaviors in the activity areas were the doing nothing or sleeping. The meals and program services were provided in only one activity area of the floor and it showed that the unit care system was perfunctorily conducted at those facilities. In the representative activity area, its openness was the main physical element influencing the spatial using frequency, while the accessibility and the openness in the sub-activity area were most important. The seating arrangements having comers were helpful for residents' interactions. Second, while facility programs and meals were provided in the specific activity area, there was no residents' occupancy in other activity areas at the same time. There were interactions including residents' conversations and watching/observations in non-designated activity areas such as the nursing stations and near corridors. But the residents' interactions and self-regulations were blocked by absence of territoriality, monotonous spatial compositions and furniture arrangements, insecurity of residents' privacy, wide or narrow areas, and isolated spatial type. Based on the results at the above, basic guidelines for planning the activity areas of senior nursing facilities can be proposed as follows: First, the isolated type and the sight interception should be avoided in representative activity areas. It should be partitioned with couple of areas through the appropriate furniture arrangements, and be prepared semi-private spaces in non-designated areas such as nursing station for the interactions among the residents and the staff. Second, in activity areas for small group, the isolated type is not also good for the residents' accessibility. The residents' privacy should be confirmed through the various spatial compositions, and enough areas need to be sure for the diverse furniture arrangements.

축령산(남서사면) 지역의 식물상 및 임분구조에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Flora and Stand Structure in Southwest Slope of Mt. Chukryong (Gyeonggi-do, Gapyeong-gun))

  • 2005년 3월부터 10월까지 축령산을 대상으로 식물상과 임분구조에 대하여 조사하였다. 관속식물은 87과 268속 399종 1아종 53변종 4품종으로 총 457종류인 것으로 나타났으며, 한국특산식물은 11과 14속 14종 총 14종류, 희귀 및 멸종위기식물로는 8과 12속 13종 총 13종류, 귀화식물로는 8과 14속 15종 변종 총 16종류로 나타났다. 축령산의 임분구조를 분석한 결과, 상층은 신갈나무로 대표되며 잣나무, 층층나무, 헛개나무, 물푸레나무 순으로 우점하고 있고, 중층은 쪽동백나무, 참회나무, 당단풍, 신갈나무 등이 우점하고 있다.

최소결합손실 기반의 동종 또는 이종 무선시스템 간의 주파수 조정에 대한 연구 (A Study on Frequency Coordination between the Same or Different Wireless Systems based upon Minimum Coupling Loss)

  • 본 논문에서는 동종 또는 이종 무선시스템에 대해 최소결합손실 기반의 주파수 조정을 위한 이론적 모델링 및 계산 결과를 제시한다. 주파수 조정에 핵심 변수들인 시스템 특성, 전파전파 모델, 가용율 및 보호비, 주파수의존제거 또는 인접채널간섭비, 변별각을 고찰하고, 각각에 대해 수치계산 결과를 도출한다. 주파수 조정의 절차를 보이기 위해 도심 또는 부도심에서 간섭원 이동기지국과 피해 고정무선시스템 간의 간섭전력을 분석하며, 가정한 양 시스템 특성에 대해 변별각 및 거리의 함수로 최대허용간섭전력과 간섭 영향을 비교한다. 제시된 방법은 다양한 무선시스템의 주파수 조정에 필요한 상호 공존 또는 양립성을 위한 기술적 분석에 활용이 클 것으로 판단된다.

Spectrum Reuse Schemes with Power Control for Device-to-Device Communication in LTE-Advanced Cellular Network

  • The spectral efficiency of cellular networks can be improved when proximate users engage in device-to-device (D2D) communications to communicate directly without going through a base station. However, D2D communications that are not properly designed may generate interference with existing cellular networks. In this paper, we study resource allocation and power control to minimize the probability of an outage and maximize the overall network throughput. We investigate three power control-based schemes: the Partial Co-channel based Overlap Resource Power Control (PC.OVER), Fractional Frequency Reuse based Overlap Resource Power Control (FFR.OVER) and Fractional Frequency Reuse based Adaptive Power Control (FFR.APC) and also compare their performance. In PC.OVER, a certain portion of the total bandwidth is dedicated to the D2D. The FFR.OVER and FFR.APC schemes combine the FFR techniques and the power control mechanism. In FFR, the entire frequency band is partitioned into two parts, including a central and edge sub-bands. Macrocell users (mUEs) transmit using uniform power in the inner and outer regions of the cell, and in all three schemes, the D2D receivers (D2DRs) transmit with low power when more than one D2DRs share a resource block (RB) with the macrocells. For PC.OVER and FFR.OVER, the power of the D2DRs is reduced to its minimum, and for the FFR.APC scheme, the transmission power of the D2DRs is iteratively adjusted to satisfy the signal to interference ratio (SIR) threshold. The three schemes exhibit a significant improvement in the overall system capacity as well as in the probability of a user outage when compared to a conventional scheme.

Influence of Condensed Tannins from Ficus bengalensis Leaves on Feed Utilization, Milk Production and Antioxidant Status of Crossbred Cows

  • This study was conducted to examine the effects of condensed tannins (CT) from Ficus bengalensis leaves on the feed utilization, milk production and health status of crossbred cows. Eighteen crossbred dairy cows at their second and mid lactation (avg. BW $351.6{\pm}10.6$ kg) were randomly divided into two groups of nine each in a completely randomized block design and fed two iso-nitrogenous supplements formulated to contain 0% and 1.5% CT through dried and ground leaves of Ficus bengalensis. The diets were designated as CON and FBLM, respectively and fed to cows with a basal diet of rice straw to meet requirements for maintenance and milk production. The daily milk yield was significantly (p<0.05) increased due to supplementation of FBLM diet. The 4% fat corrected milk yield was also significantly (p<0.01) higher due to increased (p<0.05) milk fat in cows under diet FBLM as compared to CON. The inclusion of CT at 1.5% in the supplement did not interfere with the feed intake or digestibility of DM, OM, CP, EE, NDF, and ADF by lactating cows. Digestible crude protein (DCP) and total digestible nutrients (TDN) values of the composite diets were comparable between the groups. The blood biochemical parameters remained unaltered except significantly (p<0.05) lowered serum urea concentration in cows fed FBLM diet. There was a significant (p<0.05) increase intracellular reduced glutathione (GSH), superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) activity in cows supplemented with condensed tannins. The total thiol group (T-SH) was found to be higher with reduction in lipid peroxidation (LPO) in cows of FBLM group. The cost of feeding per kg milk production was also reduced due to supplementation of Ficus bengalensis leaves. Therefore, a perceptible positive impact was evident on milk production and antioxidant status in crossbred cows during mid-lactation given supplement containing 1.5% CT through Ficus bengalensis leaves.

HAPS 시스템과 셀룰라 IMT-2000 시스템간 주파수 공유 기준 평가 (Estimation of the sharing criteria between HAPS System and Cellular IMT-2000 system)

  • WRC-2000에서 3GHz 이상의 대역에서 운영할 성층권 통신 시스템(HAPS)의 이용에 관한 연구로 Resolution 734가 채택되었다. 이에 새로운 HAPS 시스템과 기존의 지구상의 고정 서비스간의 공유 가능성이 먼저 분석되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 HAPS 시스템이 무선 중계국에 미치는 간섭 영향을 두 가지의 경우로 나누어서 분석한다. 한가지는 HAPS 비행선의 PFD(Power Flux Density)에 의한 간섭이며, 다른 한가지는 HAPS의 지구국으로부터의 간섭 영향이다. 분석 결과 위성 시스템과는 다른 새로운 PFD 기준 설정이 필요하며, 기존의 FS 시스템과 새로운 HAPS 시스템의 공유를 위한 HAPS nadir 사이의 조정거리는 전송전력밀도가 -50dBW/MHz 일 때 최고 253km에서 최저 60km정도가 요구된다.

남강댐 상류 3개 소유역의 유출량 추정을 위한 HSPF 모형의 적용성 평가 (Evaluation of HSPF Model Applicability for Runoff Estimation of 3 Sub-watershed in Namgang Dam Watershed)

  • The objective of this study was to evaluate the applicability of a HSPF (Hydrological Simulation Program-Fortran) model for runoff estimation in the Namgang dam watershed. Spatial data, such as watershed, stream, land use, and a digital elevation map, were used as input for the HSPF model, which was calibrated and validated using observed runoff data from 2004 to 2015 for three stations (Sancheong, Shinan, Changchon) in the study watershed. Parameters for runoff calibration were selected based on the user's manual and references, and parameter calibration was done by trial and error. The $R^2$ (determination coefficient), RMSE (root-mean-square error), NSE (Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency coefficient), and RMAE (relative mean absolute error) were used to evaluate the model's performance. Calibration and validation results showed that annual mean runoff was within a ${\pm}5%$ error in Sancheong and Shinan, whereas there was a14% error in Changchon. The model performance criteria for calibration and validation showed that $R^2$ ranged from 0.80 to 0.92, RMSE was 2.33 to 2.39 mm/day, NSE was 0.71 to 0.85, and RMAE was 0.37 to 0.57 mm/day for daily runoff. Visual inspection showed that the simulated daily flow, monthly flow, and flow exceedance graph agreed well with observations for the Sancheong and Shinan stations, whereas the simulated flow was higher than observed at the Changchon station.

디젤연료의 액면화재로부터 화염온도와 복사열 측정 (Measurements of Flame Temperature and Radiation Heat Flux from Pool Fire with Petroleum Diesel Fuel)

  • 석유류 중에서도 차량, 선박, 보일러 등에 많이 사용되고 있는 디젤유는 휘발유나 등유보다도 연소시에 발열량이 높기 때문에, 화재 발생시에 큰 피해를 초래한다. 따라서 본 연구는 시중에 판매중인 디젤유을 이용하여 액면화재 실험을 하였으며, 연소시에 화염의 내부온도와 화염으로부터 발생되는 복사열에 대해서 측정하였다. 디젤유의 순간 최대화염온도는 $900^{\circ}C$ 이상되는 것으로 나타났으며, 평균 최대화염온도는 $800^{\circ}C$ 이상으로 나타났다. 또한 최대화염온도는 가연성 액체의 표면으로부터 5 H/D에서 나타났으며, 이 거리 보다 멀어질 수로 화염의 온도는 낮아졌다. 복사열의 경우 저장용기의 크기와 시료의 량에 따라서 크게 달라지는 것을 알 수 있었으며, 실험 용기의 크기가 0.5 m이고, 시료량이 13 mm와 20 mm에서는 각각 92.29 kW와 117.43 kW로 나타났으며, 크기가 1.0 m의 용기에서는 각각 364.35 kW와 405.88 kW로 나타났다.
