  • IC leadframe needs precision shape for good efficiency. Friction conditions also have a significant impact on blanking deformation. Therefore, studying the friction produced by the tribology between die and materials becomes necessary. In this study, in order to measure mechanical properties and frictions for leadframe materials such as Ni alloys and coppers, tensile test and straight pulling friction test are executed. In particular, the effect of clearance on the blanking characteristics depending on friction coefficient is examined by finite element simulation. From the finite element simulation, the metal flow, side pressure of punch and crack initiation are evaluated according to the leadframe materials.

  • In the inner turn key constructions the problems of uniform types are repeatedly occurred, and, especially, many problems happen up to the stage of pre-construction(from a bid to a contract) owing to the specialties of the turn key constructions. So the claim factors of the Korean turn key constructions were abstracted in antecedent paper. When the technicians meeting the interior turn key constructions for the first time and working here now are well acquainted with only these factors, many claims will be prevented. By analysing the degree of claims by claims factors through the questionnaires to the experts about the abstracted factors and surveying the amount of the claims through the case studies, what factors exerted how much of influence on the claims was tested and analyzed. Studying and Managing the factors affecting the claims much led the technicians in charge of internal turn key constructions to the prevention and the proper solution of the site claims.

  • This paper discussed finite element method(FEM) models of the reinforced concrete frame retrofitted with cast-in plate infilled shear wall and analysed under constant axial and monotonic lateral load using ABAQUS. Detailed finite element models are created by studying the monotonic load response of the designed connection of reinforced concrete frame and cast-in plate infilled shear wall. The developed models account for the effect of material inelasticity, concrete cracking, geometric nonlinearity and bond-slip of steel, frame and infilled shear wall. In order to verify the proposed FEM, this study behaved analysis considered a diagonal reinforced steel. The analytical results compared with the experimental results.

  • This paper considers the potential impact of biological approaches such as bio-copying (biomimetics) and biomanipulating (e.g. genetic engineering) on future developments in the field of textiles and, in particular, fibres. If analytical tools for studying biological systems combined with those of materials science are further developed, and higher efficiency and reproducibility of genetic engineering technology can be achieved, the potential for the copying and manipulation of nature for textile innovations will be immense. The present state for both fields is described with examples such as touch and close fastener, structurally coloured fibres, the Lotus of lect (for bio-copying), as well as herbicide tolerant cotton, insecticide resistant cotton (Bt cotton), cotton polyester bicomponent fibres, genetically engineered silkworm and silk protein, and spider fibres. (for genetic engineering).

  • For studying the influence of addition of Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)-montmorillonite complex on the hydration of Portland cement the PVA-montmorillonite derivatives were prepared in advance an characterized system-of Portland cement the PVA-montmorillonite derivatives were prepared in advance and characterized systema-tically. PVA with the polymerizationdegree ranging from 500 to 2000 have been intercalated into the lamellar structure of hydrated montmorillonites which were fractionated under 2㎛ by Stock's rule. In all cases the constant basal spacing of ∼20Å was determined whatever the molecular weight of PVA used. And the carbon chain orientation of PVA in the interfoliar space has been deduced to be parallel with bilayer structure.

  • This paper was focused on realizing the text-independent speaker recognizer using the VQ and GMM algorithm and studying the characteristics of the speaker recognizers that adopt these two algorithms. Because it was difficult ascertain the effect two algorithms have on the speaker recognizer theoretically, we performed the recognition experiments using various parameters and, as the result of the experiments, we could show that GMM algorithm had better recognition performance than VQ algorithm as following. The GMM showed better performance with small training data, and it also showed just a little difference of recognition rate as the kind of feature vectors and the length of input data vary. The GMM showed good recognition performance than the VQ on the whole.

  • The non-evaporable water and calcium hydroxides were measured by TG/DTA for studying the temperature effect on hydration of concrete mixture. The experimental parameters introduced in this study were the curing temperatures, ages and W/C ratios. The mixing temperature was also controlled to improve the efficiency of experimental work. While the mixture cured at high temperature showed the large quantity of non-evaporable water and calcium hydroxides at early age, the production rate of these hydration products was decreased as increasing the curing age, and the quantity of hydration product became smaller than that of the corresponding mixture cured at lower temperature at later age.

  • The estimation of applicability $SrTiO_3:Pr^{3+}$, Al to a class low-voltage flat-panel displays based on field emission effect, which have average value anode voltage $U_a=300V$ and current density $j=100\;mA/sm^2$ at duty 240, has given positive result. In the same time observably for the most effective sample in similar conditions of excitation high brightness - more than $500\;Kd/m^2$ and linear brightness dependences from current density and voltage allows to decrease greatly the power which consumed by the device.

  • With the progress of semiconductor processing technology, avalanohe photodiodes (APDs) based on InP/InGaAs are used for high-speed optical receiver modules. Planar-type APDs give higher reliability than mesa-type APDs. However, Planar-type APDs are struggled with a problem of intensed electric field at the junction curvature, which causes edge breakdown phenomena at the junction periphery. In this paper, we focused on studying the effects of junction curvature for APDs performances by different etching processes followed by single diffusion to from p-n junction. The performance of each process is characterized by observing electric field profiles and carrier generation rates. From the results, it can be understood to predict the optimum structure, which can minimize edge breakdown and improve the manufacturability.

  • The orbital period changes of the W UMa eclipsing binary AU Ser are studied using the (O-C) method. We conclude that the period variation is due to mass transfer from the primary star to the secondary one at a very low and decreasing rate $dP/dt=-8.872{\times}10^{-8}$, superimposed on the sinusoidal variation due to a third body orbiting the binary with period $42.87{\pm}3.16$ years, orbital eccentricity $e=0.52{\pm}0.12$ and a longitude of periastron passage ${\omega}=133^{\circ}.7{\pm}15$. On studying the magnetic activity, we have concluded that the Applegate mechanism failed to describe the cycling variation of the (O-C) diagram of AU Ser.
