청소년의 시스템 사고 교육을 통한 창의성의 기반이 되는 사고의 확장 효과 분석 (Analysis of Thinking Expansion Effect as a Basis of Creativity through Systems Thinking Education)

  • This research assumes that expanding the depth and range of thinking can be achieved through systems thinking education to the youth. To verify this assumption, degree of expansion of thinking was evaluated after the systems thinking education was done to middle school students in Kyeongi province. As a result, significant statistical difference was found. More variables were presented after systems thinking education. This means education program enhances student's thinking ability. Possibility of systems thinking application can be verified through systems thinking education to the various ranges of students in the future.

Iceberg(IB) 모델을 적용한 고등학생의 시스템 사고 분석 및 효과 (Analysis and Effects of High School Students' Systems Thinking Using Iceberg(IB) Model)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 고등학생들의 시스템 사고를 측정하는 분석하는 도구로 Iceberg(IB) 모델을 적용하고, 시스템 사고 평가를 위한 루브릭을 활용한 IB 모델 활동 결과 분석 방법을 제시하며 그 효과를 검증하는 것이다. 문헌 분석을 통해 IB 모델과 시스템 사고 평가를 위한 루브릭의 활용에 대한 이론적 근거를 조사하였다. 그리고 6명의 고등학교 학생에게 극지방 기후 변화와 관련된 주제에 대하여 IB 모델 활동을 실시하였으며 활동 과정 중 비구조화된 면담을 통해 학생들의 시스템 사고를 조사하였다. 또한 IB 모델을 활용한 시스템 사고 분석 결과에 대한 효과를 검증하기 위하여 시스템 사고 측정 도구를 활용한 정량적 검사도 실시하였다. IB 모델의 분석은 Hung(2008)에 의해 개발된 시스템 사고 평가를 위한 루브릭을 활용하여 분석하였으며 분석한 결과는 지구과학교육 전문가 2인에게 검토를 받아 타당도와 신뢰도를 확인하였다. 그리고 루브릭 결과와 시스템 사고 측정 도구 검사 결과에 대한 상관관계 분석을 통해 타당도를 재확인하였다. 연구 결과 6명의 학생은 IB 모델을 활용하여 자신들이 가지고 있는 사고를 구체적으로 잘 표현하였으며 루브릭을 활용한 시스템 사고 분석 결과 학생들은 17~35점까지의 분포를 보여주었다. 또한 시스템 사고 측정 도구 결과와 상관관계를 분석한 결과 Pearson 상관계수가 유의수준 .05에서 .856으로 매우 높은 상관을 보여주었다. 이 연구에서 제시한 IB 모델을 적용하면 학생 스스로 시스템 사고를 잘 표현할 수 있으며, 루브릭을 활용한 시스템 사고 분석 결과는 타당도와 신뢰도를 가지는 것으로 판단된다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 앞으로의 과학 교육에서 시사점과 시스템 사고 연구의 방향을 제안하였다.

간호대학생의 비판적 사고성향, 전문직 자아개념 및 임상수행능력 (Critical Thinking Disposition, Professional Self-Concept and Clinical Competence in Nursing Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the relationships among critical thinking disposition, professional self-concept and clinical competence in nursing students. The participants were 291 nursing students in Gwangju Province. A questionnaire survey was conducted from March 02 to 16, 2013. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, pearson's correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression analysis with SPSS/WIN 20.0 version. There was a significant positive correlations among critical thinking disposition, professional self-concept, and clinical competence. The variable predicting clinical competency were professional self-concept and critical thinking disposition. These factors accounted for 44.1% of the variance. The findings of this study suggest that the most influential factor for clinical competence was professional self-concept. Therefore it is necessary to improve professional self-concept through effective education program.

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify that critical writing can be a positive stimulus factor for the cultivation of critical thinking through actual cases of writing education targeting engineering students in universities. Critical writing education is a very important way to develop critical thinking necessary for acquiring scientific knowledge, sharing social values, creativity and cultivating new production capacity. Especially, when critical writing education is performed with materials that maintain critical view of social reality such as the movie "Bowling for Columbine", it is characterized by the fact that it is naturally combined with the dimension of engineering ethics faced by engineers from the analysis and judgment of social reality. This is an example of the fact that critical thinking education for engineering students does not necessarily meet their major areas.

탈북 초등학생의 과학 교육 관련 인지적.정의적 특성 (North Korean Immigrant Elementary Students' Cognitive and Affective Characteristics Related to Science Education)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore North Korean immigrant elementary students' cognitive and affective characteristics related to science education. A total of 68 North Korean immigrant students enrolled in 3 to 6 grades and 133 South Korean students in 4 and 6 grades in 3 South Korean elementary schools participated in the study. A short version of Group Assessment of Logical Thinking(GALT) was used to investigate the students' levels of logical thinking, and the Enjoyment of Science Lessons Scale(ESLS) of the Test of Science Related Attitudes(TOSRA) was administrated to examine their attitudes towards science lessons. The statistical analysis of data revealed that the level of logical thinking of the North Korean immigrant elementary students was very low and that this was also the case for the South Korean students. Especially, the mean score of logical thinking of the North Korean immigrant 6 graders was much lower when compared with that of the South Korean counterparts. For both the North Korean immigrant students and South Korean students, the enjoyment of science lessons decreased as they progressed through higher grades. This decreasing trend, however, turned out to be more serious in the South Korean elementary students. Based on these results, suggestions were presented to help successful science learning of North Korean immigrant elementary students.

공과대학생의 팀워크 역량과 사고양식의 관계 (Relationships between Teamwork Skills and Thinking Styles in Engineering Students)

  • This research aims to explore the relationships between 'teamwork skills' (often called team activity competence) and 'thinking styles' of engineering students in Korea, and to provide an explanation for the application of team-based environment as well as for the increase of teamwork skills. Teams and team activity are pervasive in today's organization and there has been relatively much research on teamwork skills and its related factors. However, to date, little attention has been paid to the teamwork skills, essential factor in team-based environment and its relationships with thinking styles. This study was conducted with 383 engineering students at P University, and students' teamwork skills as well as thinking styles have been measured before and after team-based learning class (hereafter TBL). Our findings show that firstly, there was a significant increase of teamwork skills between before and after TBL class. Second, team activity competence was found to have a higher correlation with most of creativity generating styles (i.e. legislative, judicial, hierarchical and global styles). Third, hierarchical style was found to influence team activity more than other components, and also legislative, external, global and judicial styles contributed to team-based activity. These findings are expected to provide an explanation for the application of thinking styles in team-based environment and will be useful for the improvement of related courses in engineering school.

간호학과 편입학생의 비판적 사고성향, 자아존중감 및 스트레스 대처간의 관계 (Critical Thinking, Self-Concept and Stress Adaptation of Transfer Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of critical thinking and self-concept on stress adaptation in transfer nursing students. Methods: For this study, data were collected from 196 transfer nursing students from Busan and South Gyeongsang Province Data collection was done during the period from September to December, 2015. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple regression. Results: The results showed that for critical thinking gender (t=2.48, p=.014), age (F=2.90, p=.044) and club activities (t=2.05, p=.041) were significant. Stress adaptation was significant according to academic year (F=3.81, p=.025). Critical thinking, self-concept and stress adaptation had positive correlations. Conclusion: Findings indicate that college adjustment for transfer nursing students could be enhanced through the development of programs to promote critical thinking and self-concept in the nursing curriculum.

프리셉터쉽 적용이 간호학생외 비판적 사고성향, 입상수행능력 및 임상실습 만족도에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Preceptorship on Nursing Students' Critical Thinking Propensity, Clinical Competency and Satisfaction of Clinical Practice)

  • Purpose: This study was to compare effects of preceptorship on nursing students' critical thinking propensity, clinical competency, and the satisfaction of clinical practice. Method: The subjects were 80 by preceptorship group and 51 by conventional method group. The data were analyzed by SPSS 12.0 program. Results: The subject's critical thinking propensity, clinical competency and satisfaction of clinical practices between the preceptorship group and the conventional method group revealed statistically significant difference. Subject's critical thinking propensity revealed significant correlations, along with the clinical competεncy and the satisfaction for clinical practice. And the clinical competency revealed statistically significant correlations with the satisfaction for clinical practice. Conclusion: Findings of this study reveals that the nursing students who had clinical practice by preceptorship showed higher scores in the critical thinking propensity, clinical competency, and the satisfaction for clinical practice than the conventional method group. Consequently, we are quite consciously encouraged to reinforce the preceptorship for realization of an effective clinical practice education for nursing students.

간호대학생의 그릿(Grit)과 비판적 사고성향이 임상수행능력에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Grit and Critical Thinking Disposition on Nursing Students' Clinical Competence)

  • Objectives: A descriptive survey was used in this study to identify the relationship between nursing students' grit, critical thinking disposition, and clinical competence and to examine factors that influence clinical competence. Methods: Data were collected from 241 nursing students and analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Scheffé test, Pearson correlation, and stepwise multiple regression analysis with the SPSS/WIN 24.0 PC program. Results: Clinical competence was found to have significant pure correlations with critical thinking disposition (r=.49, p<.001), and grit (r=.31, p<.001). The most influential factors influencing nursing students' clinical competence were critical thinking disposition (β=.35, p<.001), and grit (β=.28, p<.001), and these factors explained 33% of the variance in clinical competence. Conclusions: The findings indicate the need to develop and apply strategies and educational programs to enhance individual nurse's critical thinking disposition and grit. Furthermore, exploration is needed on ways to enhance clinical competence.

간호대학생의 학습유형과 비판적 사고성향이 의사소통능력에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Learning Style and Critical Thinking Disposition on Communication Skill in Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: This study was designed to explore the influencing factors on communication skill of nursing students and to investigate the relationship between learning style, critical thinking disposition and communication skill, Methods: The study sample was composed of 559 nursing students. Data was collected from 1st to 30th, May 2012 used a questionnaire which included Kolb's learning style inventory, critical thinking disposition inventory, communication skill inventory. The SPSS 18.0 Window program was used for descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: Learning styles of subjects were diverging 39.5%, accommodating 32.6%, assimilating 22.7%, and converging 5.2%. The total mean score of critical thinking disposition and communication skill was 3.58 and 3.39 respectively. The score of Critical thinking disposition(t=3.06, p=.002) and Communication skill(t=3.25, p=.002) significantly differed between clinical practice satisfaction. Communication skill was the most significant predictor and accounted for 41.3% of the variance in critical thinking disposition in nursing students. Conclusion: It is important for students to use all four learning styles rather than to rely on one style. There should be more emphasis placed on the development of positive critical thinking disposition and communication skill of nursing students.
