GSP를 이용한 수학과 교수-학습을 위한 자료 개발 및 방법 연구 - 중학교 함수, 기하분야를 중심으로 (The method research and the development of teaching-learning materials by using GSP (function and geometry in middle school math))

  • Recently our educational methodologies have been changed to an open, student-centered structure. Mathematics is now learned through experiential interaction and less emphasis is placed on abstract theories. For example, the axioms of the geometry in the middle school curriculum have been expressed by using symbolic letters. Students find these abstractions very difficult and it hinders their ability to grasp the significance of geometrical concepts. In an effort to simplify these abstract concepts and enhance the students interest and ability to learn, the GSP (Geometry Sketchpad) is proving to be a useful and effective tool. First, Second and third grade students have found the GSP to be extremely useful. While the pad has no sound function it still enables the students to freely change diagrams without disrupting the integrity of the program. There is also a running order of instructions at the bottom of the screen to facilitate the step by step understanding of mathematical procedures. This function makes the program ideal for use by teachers, students and even beginners. Anyone experiencing difficulty can get immediate assistance from the guidebook which is located at the back of each program. Allowing individuals to manipulate and actually see the changing deductions and axiom proofs on the computer screen provides them with immediate feedback and reinforcement. It also enhances their overall interest in learning geometry. The use of the GSP is proving to be an innovative and effective tool in facilitating the transition of mathematics into an open, student-centered educational forum.

영국 브라이튼대학교 물리치료학과의 직무중심 교육과정 적용 사례 연구 (Case Study for Application of Job Centered Curriculum in Department of Physiotherapy: Brighton University in England)

  • PURPOSE: This study investigated the job-centered curriculum in the Department of Physiotherapy at the University of Brighton, England, to examine NCS (national competency standards) curriculum in physiotherapy. METHODS: The researcher visited the University of Brighton from September 2015 to May 2016 and conducted interviews with faculty members. Data were collected through the university's website and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. RESULTS: The undergraduate program is a three-year program and with a module system. There is a course leader for each module. Each grade requires 120 credits (10 hours per credit) and credit hours can be earned through lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, self-directed e-learning, group work, inter-professional classes, and seminars. Clinical placement is carried out six times during 3 years, for a total of 32 weeks, 35 hours per week, 1120 hours in total. Students are enrolled as a student members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and are covered by professional liability insurance during clinical placement. The Center for Teaching and Learning holds regular workshops to discuss curriculum and module design, conduct course reviews, and review student assessment and feedback. All courses at the university must be approved, monitored annually, and re-approved every 5 years. CONCLUSION: This study can contribute to the development and operation of the NCS physiotherapy curriculum, as well as to the development of modules and assessment tools related to the application of this curriculum.

천문 영역에 대한 STAD 모형의 협동 학습이 초등학생들의 학업 성취도와 과학에 관련된 태도에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Cooperative Learning through STAD Model on Elementary School Students' Learning Achievements and Science Related Attitudes in the Field of Astronomy)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the efforts of cooperative loaming through a student team-achievement division(STAD) model on elementary school students' learning achievements and science ,elated attitudes toward the field of astronomy. This study was conducted using 72 students of the fifth-grade class in a elementary school in Busan. The 18 science lessons of the 'Family of the sun' were executed over 6 weeks in the fifth-year students classes. In this study, the experimental group were exposed to cooperative learning through STAD and the contrast group were exposed to a traditional teacher-centered class. The results show that the STAD class of the experimental group had a greater effect upon the elementary school students' science learning achievement and science related attitudes toward the field of astronomy than those of the comparison group. Additionally, the students recognized that cooperative learning provokes both interest in loaming and in their studies generally and also they expressed a desire to continue with cooperative teaming methods.

학습자 중심의 '강의평가' 도구 개발 및 타당화 연구 (A study for development and validation of the 'course evaluation' scale for learner-centered)

  • The purpose of this study was to development and validation of the 'course evaluation' scale for learner-centered in university. The research collected preliminary data from 1,567 university students's responses for item and scale quality analyses, and collected 2,539 university students's for item and scale quality analyses, and 300 university professors's responses for validation. Data were analyzed to obtain item quality, reliability, and validity analysis. The results of the study were as follows; The 'course evaluation' scale for learner-centered in university was defined by 5 factors. The 5 factors were structure and sincerity of lecture, suitability of report and test, level of consulting for student, application of educational media, communication. The results of the confirmatory factor analysis confirmed five sub-scales in the 'course evaluation' scale for learner-centered in university scale. Criterion-related validity evidence was obtained from the correlation analysis as the criterion measures. Cross validity evidence was obtained from the confirmatory factor analysis in university professors.

  • 오늘날, 컴퓨터와 통신기술의 급속한 발전은 교육의 질을 증진하는데 새로운 기회를 제공하고 있다. 그러나, 현존하는 코스 중심의 학습환경이 개인적인 학습을 적절한 방법으로 지원하지 못하고 있다. 캠퍼스 밖에서도 선도적인 기술로 지원하고 도움을 제공하는 개인별 학습지원이 필요하다. 이러한 새로운 환경에 부응하기 위하여 클라우드에 기반한 CPLE모델을 제안하고 있다.

학습자 중심 교육의 관점에서 교사들의 수학교육의 문제점 인식과 수학 모델 교과서 개발 (Teachers' Recognition of the Problems in Mathematics Education and Development of Math Textbooks from the Perspective of Learner-Centered Education)

  • 전통적인 교사 중심 교육으로는 학생 개개인의 다양성과 창의성을 발현할 수 없으며 변화하는 미래 사회에 대처할 수 없다는 위기의식이 일면서, 우리나라에서는 학습자를 교육의 주체로 보는 학습자 중심 교육이 강조되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 한국과학창의재단에서 추진한 '2015년 학생 중심 수학교과서 개선 교사연구회' 자료를 토대로 학습자 중심 교육의 관점에서 우리나라 교사들이 인식하는 수학교육의 문제점과 그들이 개발한 수학 모델 교과서의 특징을 분석하였다. APA(1997)의 '학습자 중심의 심리 원리' 틀을 사용하여 분석한 결과 교사들은 수학교육의 문제점으로 동기와 정서가 학습에 미치는 영향, 학습에서의 개인차, 발달이 학습에 미치는 영향, 학습 과정의 본질, 지식의 구성 원리 측면이 고려되지 않았음을 순서대로 많이 지적하였다. 교사들이 개발한 수학 모델 교과서는 학습 과정의 본질, 지식의 구성, 동기와 정서가 학습에 미치는 영향의 원리가 순서대로 가장 많이 반영되었다. 마지막으로 교사들의 문제점 인식과 그에 따른 모델 교과서 개발 결과를 비교한 결과, 교사들에게 인식된 문제점들은 대체로 교과서에 반영되었고, 인지와 메타인지 요인에서는 문제점보다 개선이 더 많이 이루어졌으나 동기와 정의적 요인에서는 개선이 문제점에 비해 미비한 편이었다. 이를 통해 수학 교과서 개선을 통해 실현 가능한 학습자 중심 교육의 방안을 살펴볼 수 있었다.

변혁적 역량 함양을 위한 2022 개정 고등학교 과학과 지구과학 교육과정 개발 성과 탐색 (Exploring Development Achievement of the 2022 Revised High School Earth Science Curriculum to Cultivate Transformative Competency)

  • 본 연구에서는 2022 개정 과학과 교육과정 개발 과정에서 고등학교 지구과학 TF팀에서 수행한 고등학교 지구과학 분야의 2022 개정 교육과정 개발의 철학적 배경과 성과 등을 탐색하였다. 연구보고서에서 다루지 못한 연구로, OECD Education 2030의 변혁적 역량과 지구과학 분야 교육과정 문서 체제의 관련성, 이해중심 교육과정에 비추어 본 지구과학 분야의 핵심 아이디어 구성과 선택과목 구성, 지구과학 분야의 탐구 기반 교수학습의 특징 등을 탐색하였다. 주요 연구결과를 살펴보면, 지구과학 분야를 포함하여 2022 개정 과학과 교육과정에서는 OECD Education 2030의 변혁적 역량과 과학소양을 함양할 수 있도록 학생과 교사의 행위주체성(agency)을 강조하였으며, 지구과학 분야 교육과정 문서 체제에서는 학습 나침반 바늘을 구성하는 지식·이해, 과정·기능, 가치·태도를 중심으로 핵심 아이디어와 성취기준을 구성하였다. 이해중심 교육과정에 근거하여 지구과학 분야의 핵심 아이디어를 도출하고, 지구과학 분야의 핵심 아이디어에 도달할 수 있도록 선택과목별 특성에 맞추어 과목별 영역과 지식·이해 내용요소를 구성하였다. 또한, 지식 생산 역량을 갖춘 학생 행위주체 육성을 위해 과학과 과정·기능에 부합하는 IB형 탐구 기반 교수학습을 강조하였다. 연구 결과를 토대로 국가 수준 그리고 총론 수준에서 교육 과정 대강화의 필요성, 가치·태도에 대한 과정중심 평가 방안 개발보급, 및 백워드 설계 형태의 교육과정 개발의 필요성, 과학과 탐구의 과정·기능에 입각한 탐구 기반 교수학습을 통한 학생 행위주체의 과학 역량 함양 방안 등을 결론으로 제언하였다.

User-centered Design of m-Learning System: Moodle On The Go

  • In order to truly integrate e-Learning system into regular curriculum at a university, mobile access to Learning Management Systems has to be enabled. Mobile devices have the potential to be integrated into the classroom, because they contain unique characteristics such as portability, social interactivity, context sensitivity, connectivity and individuality. Adoption of Learning Management Systems by students is still on the low rate, mostly because of poor usability of existing e-Learning systems. Our initial research has confirmed this hypothesis. Usability issue is rising to the higher level on the mobile platform, because of the mobile devices' limited screen size, input interfaces and bandwidth, and also because of the context of use. Our second hypothesis was that it is wrong to consider a mobile device as a surrogate for desktop or laptop personal computer (PC). By just adopting the existing Learning Management System on mobile devices with adaptive technologies such as Google proxy, we do not acquire the satisfactory results. Usability can prove to be even lower compared to desktop application. One possible solution to the problem could be development of rich client applications for today's mobile devices that would raise the usability to a higher level. We developed a PocketPC prototype application by using user-centered design principles, which we presented as a third alternative in usability research conducted among university students. Results gathered in such a way have confirmed that development of e-Learning system, in order to be widely accepted by students, needs to have the user(student) in the center of development process.

Effects of Self-Directed Learning Readiness on Academic Performance and Perceived Usefulness for Each Element of Flipped Learning

  • This study aims to examine the effects of self-directed learning readiness (SDLR) on academic performance and the perceived usefulness for each elements of flipped learning. Based on their SDLR scores, 69 students were assigned to a high SDLR group and a low SDLR group. Academic performance was measured by the completion rate of a pre-class online learning and the final exam score, and perceived usefulness for each element of flipped learning was measured by a survey designed by the researcher. For academic performance, the high SDLR group showed a significantly higher completion rate than the low SDLR group, but no significant difference was observed in their final exam scores. Students in the high SDLR group perceived in-class student-centered activities as more useful than those in the low SDLR group. Additional qualitative analyses indicated that students needed more support from instructors and well-prepared peers. Finally, this study suggested that more examination on the various learning characteristics that may influence the effectiveness of flipped learning should be done.

사이버가정학습을 활용한 e-PBL 기반 정보통신교육 지도 방안 (A Teaching Method about e-PBL Based Information Communication Education using Cyber Home Study System)

  • 자기주도적 학습을 통하여 학습효과를 극대화하고자 하는 교육현장에서는 컴퓨터 기능 습득을 중점으로 이루어지는 기존의 정보통신기술교육의 한계점을 인식하고 학습자 중심의 변화된 교육환경을 요구하고 있지만, 일선의 교육현장에서는 여전히 컴퓨터 기능 습득만을 컴퓨터교육내용의 전부로 인식하고 있다. 본 논문은 '울산 사이버가정학습'을 활용하여 학습자 중심의 'e-PBL환경'을 구축하고 효과적인 컴퓨터교과 지도방안을 설계한다. '울산 사이버가정학습'을 웹 환경으로 구축하고, 정보통신기술교육 교재 '우리 생활과 정보'의 각 단원을 재구성하여 학습자 중심의 효과적인 지도방안을 연구한다.
