힘과 운동 개념 변화를 위한 연역 논리 과제에 대한 중학생의 반응 분석 (An Analysis of Middle school Student's Responses to the Deductive Reasoning Task for Change of Concept about Force and Motion)

  • Many students have misconceptions that upward direction force act on the object which is moving upward after being thrown vertically upward, and no force act on the object at the top of its flight because the object stop or don't' move at the top. To change these misconceptions, in this study, deductive reasoning tasks were used, and student's responses to the tasks were analyzed. In the first part of this study, student's prior conceptions about force and motion and student's deductive reasoning abilities were investigated. And the second part, student's explanations were classified to either the premise-based or idea-based explanation. In the case of the object which is moving upward, 62% of students who had misconception changed their misconceptions to physically correct concept, but, only 24% of students changed their misconceptions for the object at the top. For the first task, more students changed their misconceptions when they made responses based on premises than based on their own idea(p<.05), so, the first task can be helpful for conceptual change. 40% students changed their own misconception by reasoning deductively based on premises provided in the first task, but only 17% students changed by the second task. Student's reasoning abilities investigated in the first part of this study did not affect the conceptual change. Four students for the first task and one student for the second task did not change their misconception even though they made premise-based explanation and had high reasoning abilities.

대학도서관 시설기준에 관한 연구 (A study on standards for college and university library building areas)

  • This study is to set up a model of minimum and optimum standards for college and university library building areas in Korea. The results of this study are summarized as follows: 1. minimum standards(proposal) At first, Areas needed by factors of space component are as follows: User space --- 0.45 $m^{2}$ per student. Collection space --- 0.0107 $m^{2}$ per volume Staff space --- 10.1 $m^{2}$ per person Space attached to user, collection and staff space --- 5% of the sum of user, collection and staff areas(0.041 $m^{2}$ per student). Nonassignable space --- 25% of the sum of user, collection and staff areas (0.21 $m^{2}$ per student). Next, the formula to calculate the total area of the college and university library building is as follows: N = 0.45T $m^{2}$(a) + 0.0107V $m^{2}$(b) + 10.1S $m^{2}$(c) + 0.05(a+b+c) $m^{2}$, NS = 0.25N $m^{2}$. 2. 신생아 건강사정 직접실습이 간호학생의 간호수행능력과 자기효능감에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Direct Practice of Newborn Health Assessment on Students' Nursing Clinical Competence and Self-Efficacy)

  • Purpose: This study was done to examine the effect of direct practice of newborn health assessment on nursing student's clinical competence and self-efficacy and to propose effective strategies for clinical education on newborn care. Methods: Design was a nonequivalent control group quasi-experimental study. The direct practice program was composed of a lecture, demonstration, drill and feedback using a manikin, and repeated direct practice regarding newborn health assessment. Participants were 65 student nurses taking the pediatric nursing practicum in the nursery room at M hospital. The experimental group (n=33) participated in the direct practice program for newborn health assessment and the control group (n=32) received the traditional practice method. Nursing clinical competence was assessed by two nurse investigators and structured questionnaires were used to measure self-efficacy. Results: The experimental group's clinical competence was significantly higher than that of the control group (t=-4.82, p=.000). However no significant difference was found between the two groups for self-efficacy (t=1.264, p=.211). Conclusion: These findings indicate that the direct practice program is effective in improving nursing student's clinical competence, but it was not effective in increasing self-efficacy. Direct practice in various clinical education settings is recommended and longitudinal effects be evaluated.

한국과 일본 대학생의 전통복식에 대한 인식차이연구 (A Study on the Difference between Korean and Japanese College Student's Recognition of Their Traditional Costume)

  • This study discusses the traditional costume of Korea and Japan and cognitive factors affecting its recognition by conducting a survey on both Korean and Japanese students so that comparative analysis of the differences about whether to rent or own traditional costume and about whether the students surveyed have visited the other country reciprocally, can be made to set the future course of the traditional costume which have gradually been worn less frequently and favored by less people. College students of Japan and Korea were chosen for this study and asked to fill in a questionnaire. 491 respondents were analyzed using SPSS10.0 for frequency analysis, factors analysis and t-test. Findings of this study are as follows: Firstly, there were 7 factors affecting the Korean student's recognition of Hanbok while 6 factors involved in Japanese student's recognition of Kimono. Korean students thought highly of the traditional costume and yet had less knowledge of it compared to the Japanese students. Secondly, analysis of the student's recognition of their counterpart's traditional costume showed that there were equally 4 factors affecting the student's recognition. Students found the traditional costume difficult to wear and uncomfortable when worn. Japanese students regarded Hanbok as an abstract form of the traditional Korean culture while Korean students viewed Kimono as a realistic form of something concrete. Thirdly, analysis of the differences about the recognition based on the student's owning or renting the traditional costume. or visiting the counterpart's country, showed that students owning the traditional costume were more positive about the traditional costume and well versed in it. And students having visited their counterpart's country thought more favorably of the traditional costume of their counterpart.

치과 방문 시 어린이와 부모의 치과 불안도의 상관 관계 (RELATIONSHIP OF DENTAL ANXIETY BETWEEN CHILD AND PARENT DURING DENTAL VISIT)

  • 어린이에게 있어서 치과 불안의 문제는 오랫동안 환자 행동조절의 문제로서 여겨져 왔으며 이러한 문제로 인해 치료 시의 비협조도, 치료 약속 취소 및 회피 등이 발생할 수 있다. 따라서 치과의사 및 치과 팀에게 가능한 한 빨리 어린이의 치과 불안을 인지하여 적절히 대처할 것이 요구되어진다. 한편, 부모의 치과 불안이 그들의 아이의 치과 불안과 치료 협조도에 영향을 줄 수 있음이 이전의 여러 연구들로부터 언급되어지고 있다. 또한 치과 방문 결정의 주체가 어린이라기보다는 부모임을 고려할 때, 부모와 어린이 사이의 치과 불안도의 관계 규명이 중요하다 하겠다. 본 연구는 전북대학교 병원 소아치과에 내원한 $3{\sim}10$세(평균 연령 5.27세, 표준 편차 2.172세)의 어린이 78명(남아 45명, 여아 33명)과 그들의 부모 78명을 대상으로 하였으며, 치과 치료 전의 어린이의 치과 불안도 평가를 위해 Venham Picture Scale을, 부모의 치과 불안도 평가를 위해 Corah's dental anxiety scale을 사용하여 두 값을 비교하였다. 또한 어린이의 치료 시 협조도, 기질, 성별, 나이, 부모의 교육 정도를 평가하여 치과 불안도와 비교하였다. 이에 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 어린이의 치과 불안도와 부모의 치과 불안도 사이의 상관 분석 및 회귀분석에서 상호 관계성 이 존재하였다(P<0.02). 2. 어린이의 치과 불안도와 치료 협조도 사이의 상관 분석 및 교차 분석에서 음의 상호 관계를 나타내었다(P<0.001). 3. 어린이의 치과불안도와 기질에 관한 Student's t-test에서 낮은 불안도와 높은 불안도 그룹의 네 가지 기질 평군 점수 비교 시, 낮은 불안도 그룹에서 모두 약간 낮은 평균 점수를 보였으나 통계학적 유의차는 없었다(P>0.1). 4. 어린이의 치과 불안도와 어린이의 성별, 나이에 관한 Student's t-test에서, 여아에서 높은 불안도, $3{\sim}6$세의 어린 그룹에서 높은 불안을 보였다(P<0.001). 5. 부모의 치과 불안도와 부모의 학력에 관한, Student's t-test에서, 대학교육을 받지 않은 저학력 부모 그룹에서 더 높은 불안도를 보였으나 통계학적 유의차는 없었다(P>0.1).

간호대학생의 정신건강에 영향을 미치는 관련 요인 (Factors influencing the mental health in college nursing students)

  • 본 연구는 간호대학생의 자기효능감, 사회적 지지, 정신건강의 정도를 알아보고 자기효능감과 사회적 지지가 정신건강에 미치는 영향을 파악한 연구이다. 연구대상자는 B시, C시의 3년제 과정에 있는 간호대학생을 186명을 대상으로 하였고, 자료분석은 SPSS WIN/18.0을 이용하여 평균과 표준편차, t-검정, 일원분산분석, 피어슨 상관계수, 다중회분귀분석을 사용하였다. 연구결과 간호대학생의 정신건강은 $2.25{\pm}0.65$점으로 나타났다. 연구대상자의 정신건강은 자기효능감(r=-434, p<.001), 사회적지지(r=-.393, p<.001)와 역상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 정신건강에 영향을 미치는 요인은 자기효능감과 사회적 지지로 확인되었고, 이러한 요인들은 간호대학생의 정신건강을 24.7%로 설명하였다. 간호대학생의 정신건강을 높이기 위해 반복연구를 통하여 정신건강에 영향을 미치는 요인을 확인하고, 정신건강을 증진할 수 있는 교육 및 프로그램 개발이 필요하다.

간호대학생의 가치관이 죽음에 대한 태도에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Nursing Student's Values on Attitudes Toward Death)

  • The purpose of this study was to confirm the influence of nursing student's values on attitudes toward death of them. The subjects for this study was based 356 students of high school in Gwang Ju. The data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, reliability, factor analysis, t-test, one -way ANOVA, scheffe, Pearson's correlation coefficient and Stepwise Multiple Regression. The results obtained were as follows : 1. The mean score for values was 24.31 The mean score for attitudes of death was 34.02 2. There was significant differences of attitudes of death according to religion, socioeconomic state, existence of parent, grades, smoking, alcohol intaking 3. There was a positive correlation that is values and attitudes toward death of nursing student. 4. There was a significant predictors influencing attitudes toward death of nursing students were values and alcohol intaking and these predictors accounted for 18.2% of attitudes toward death of them.

The Roles of Online Instructional Facilitators and Student Performance of Online Class Activity

  • The study investigates the effects of online instructional facilitator's qualities on student performance of online class activities. The study explores the roles of instructional facilitators who may influence student performance of online class activities and their academic achievement. The study employs a set of aggregated data from 1,362 subjects and 10 facilitators who participated in multiple online classes. The results of independent samples t-test reveal that the student performance in online classes has no association with facilitators' educational background or academic degree, as well as demographic characteristics, student evaluation records and instructional achievement. The results of multiple regression analysis show that the facilitator engagement has a positive relation to the enhancement of student interaction, reading discussion messages, and the quality of discussion messages in online discussions. The results of correlation analysis show that the facilitator engagement has a positive impact on both increasing the number of reading discussion messages and enhancing the quality of discussion messages. The facilitator engagement increases the quantity of reading discussion postings and enhances the quality of discussion messages, which would be a substantial contribution to student performance by facilitators. The findings suggest that student performance and academic achievement in online classes are not independent of facilitator engagement.

가정과 교육실습에 대한 가정과 교사와 교수의 인식 (Perceptions of Home Economics Teachers and Teacher Educators Regarding Home Economics Student Teaching Practice)

  • The purpose of this study were to investigate and no investigate and to compare perceptions of home economics teachers and educators regarding home economics student teaching pratice, thereby to provide fundamental information for improving home economics student teaching pratice. The specific objectives of this study were at follows. 1. To determine and compare the perceptions of home economics teachers and teacher educators regarding the importance and achievement of (1) the objectives of student teaching, (2) the experiences of student teaching, (3) procedures for selecting cooperating teachers, (4) roles and responsibilities of cooperating teachers, and (5) roles and responsibilities of university supervisors. 2. To identify problems and revisions about home economics student teaching pratice suggested by home economics teachers and teacher educators. The subjects in this study included 90 home economics teachers in 500 girls’middle schools and 13 teacher educators in 21 universities with home economics education department in Korea. For this study, the Habedi’s instruments were used through testing validity and reliability. The data of this study were analyzed by using mean, standard deviation, t-test, and content analysis. The results of this study were as follow;1. The areas with the difference of perceptions of the importance between the two groups were objectives of student teaching, experiences of student teaching, procedures for selecting cooperating teachers, and roles and responsibilities of cooperating teachers. 2. Regarding problems about home economics students teaching practice, home economics teachers indicated difficulty in performing adequate student teaching because of reduction in class hours, and lack of student teachers’positive attitude in performing student teaching, while teacher educators indicated having reluctancy of cooperating school to admit student teachers, and difference in experiences of student teachers because of disparity among cooperating schools. As solutions about the problems of home economics student teaching practice, home economics teachers suggested that student teaching course should be limited to the students qualified for teaching and that class observation and teaching practice in real class should be emphasized, while teacher educators suggested that student teaching should be performed adequately by providing institutions to control student teaching practice teacher should be made efficient by examining the scales of cooperating schools.

Comparison of Sit and Reach Test, Straight Leg Raise Test and Visual Analogue Scale When Applying Static Stretching and Mulligan's Two Leg Rotation in Young Adults with Hamstring Shortness

  • Purpose: This study compared the effects of Static stretching and Mulligan's Two-leg rotation about the Hamstring flexibility, Hip range of motion, and pain. Methods: The subjects were allocated randomly into two groups: Static stretching group (n=13) and Mulligan's two leg rotation group (n=14). The study was designed with stretching protocols for four minutes and thirty seconds per day five times a week for three weeks in total. Measurements, including the Sit and reach test, Active/Passive Straight leg raise, and Visual analogue scale, were conducted before and after the intervention. The data were analyzed using a paired t-test and independent t-test. Results: The flexibility of the two leg rotation group was higher than the static stretching group after the intervention. The post-sit and reach test value of the two leg rotation group was significantly higher than the pre-sit and reach test value of the static stretching group. In addition, the variance of the sit and reach test of the two leg rotation group was significantly higher than that of the static stretching group. Conclusion: These results showed that two leg rotation techniques have a positive effect on the changes in the sit and reach test and active straight leg raise test. Two leg rotation techniques can be recommended as a self-stretching and easier way to stabilize the lumbopelvic rhythm, reduce the stiffness of the muscle and relieve pain. This is effective in preventing muscle damage, enabling muscle relaxation and reducing the risk of injury to the spine during daily lives and in sports activities.
