  • Users often visit many stores while comparing the products for purchasing products or products related to it. Given a service providing location information of these stores, users can make their purchase efficiently because of reducing the time and effort they spent for wandering around and obtaining new purchase opportunities by knowing a kind of relevant stores near there. In this paper, for the purpose of providing relevant stores information efficiently, we suggest an Ambient Service Model that consists of three layers: "structured(purchase-related) information space", "real space", and "ambient information space". In the model, stores information collected from the web is grouped and structured automatically by relationships in terms of purchase. And users search relevant stores information by using an Ambient Query that is created by their context in real space. Finally, users obtain relevant stores information that is in the form of hierarchy structure on map interface. Then, users can search other kinds of relevant stores information additionally by using hierarchy structure. Consequently, It is possible to develope a service that users can obtain relevant stores information intuitively without complex search processes through the model. Also, we expect that the model can be used for developing services that provide objects information related to various objects besides stores.

  • Purpose: This study was done to propose a structural model to explain and predict psychosocial adjustment in patients with early breast cancer and to test the model. The model was based on the Stress-Coping Model of Lazarus and Folkman (1984). Methods: Data were collected from February 18 to March 18, 2009. For data analysis, 198 data sets were analyzed using SPSS/WIN12 and AMOS 7.0 version. Results: Social support, uncertainty, symptom experience, and coping had statistically significant direct, indirect and total effects on psychosocial adjustment, and optimism had significant indirect and total effects on psychosocial adjustment. These variables explained 57% of total variance of the psychosocial adjustment in patients with early breast cancer. Conclusion: The results of the study indicate a need to enhance psychosocial adjustment of patients with early breast cancer by providing detailed structured information and various symptom alleviation programs to reduce perceived stresses such as uncertainty and symptom experience. They also suggest the need to establish support systems through participation of medical personnel and families in such programs, and to apply interventions strengthening coping methods to give the patients positive and optimistic beliefs.

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to construct a structural equation model that would further explain the continuously increasing substance use disorder in Korean adolescents. Methods: Survey visits using a structured questionnaire were conducted with 3,885 students in 2 middle schools and 2 high schools in Busan. A total of 13 instruments were used in this model. The analysis of data was done with both SPSS 14.0 for descriptive statistics and AMOS 5.0 for covariance structure analysis. Results: Based on the constructed model, belief on substance use was found to have a significantly direct effect in influencing adolescent substance use. In addition, other factors such as family environment, satisfaction with school life, self-concept, social support, and personality vulnerability indirectly affected substance use. The final modified model yielded Chi-square=2,987(p<.001), df=121, ${\chi}^2$/df=22.1, GFI=.96, AGFI=.93, NFI=.91, PNFI=.72, PGFI=.72, RMSEA=.07 and exhibited fit indices. Conclusion: This study constructed a model that addresses the factors related to adolescent substance use and explains the relationship of these factors in influencing substance use among Korean adolescents. Findings from this study can contribute to designing appropriate prevention strategies to reduce substance related disorders in adolescents.

  • Purpose: This study was done to develop and test a structural model on smoking cessation intention in technical high school men. The conceptual model was based on the theory of reasoned action and health promotion model. Methods: From May 29 to April 13, 2015, 413 technical high school students who smoked completed a structured questionnaire. Data were analyzed to calculate the direct and indirect effects of factors affecting smoking cessation intention. The SPSS WIN 20.0 and AMOS 21.0 programs were used. Results: The hypothetical model was a good fit for the data. The model fit indices were $x^2/df=2.36$, GFI=.95, AGFI=.92, NFI=0.97, and RMSEA=.05. Self-esteem had direct and indirect effects on smoking cessation intention. Attitude, subjective norm, and self-efficacy had direct effects on smoking cessation intention. Smoking knowledge and environmental factor had indirect effects on smoking cessation intention. This model explained 87.0% of the variance in smoking cessation intention. Conclusion: These results indicate that technical high school students' intention to stop smoking can be improved through an increase in self-esteem, negative environmental factors, attitude toward smoking cessation, subjective norm about smoking cessation, and self-efficacy for smoking cessation.

  • The application of nutrients and pesticides to agricultural lands has been reported to contribute to groundwater contamination, which can be explained by preferential flow in lieu of convective-dispersive flow. An one-dimensional numerical model depicting preferential water and solute movement was modified to describe multi-layer flows. The model is based on a piecewise linear conductivity function. By combining conservation of mass and Darcy's law and using the method of characteristics a solution is obtained for water flow in which water moves at distinct velocities in different flow regions instead of an average velocity for the whole profile. The model allows transfer ofqr solutes between pore groups. The transfer is characterized by assuming mixing coefficients. The model was applied to undisturbed soil columns and an experiment site with structured sandy clay loam soil. Chloride, bromide, and 2, 4-D were used as tracers. Simulated solutes concentrations were in good agreement with the soil column data and field data in which preferential flow of solute is significant. The proposed model is capable of describing preferential solute transport under laboratory and field conditions.

  • This paper deals with the extension of and discussion on the System Dynamics model (Jeong & Jeon, 2005) of river crabs in Korea. The previous model has been elaborated to empirically search for the optimal restoration and harvest rates of crabs in the Imjin River, on the basis of theoretical models of population dynamics in the field of bio-mathematics and environmental economics. In this paper, the authors tries to couple a series of new feedback loops related to density restrictions and cannibalistic behaviors with a stage-structured model of the crab ecosystem, and also to endogenize the parameter of baby crabs' survival that is caused by water quality improvement and income increase. Through these extensions and relaxations, the authors are able to argue about the strategic decision of the optimal rates additional considerations as well as the properties of the integrated system that was not covered in the previous paper.

  • This paper presents a massively parallel computational model for the efficient integration of speech and natural language understanding. The phoneme model is based on continuous Hidden Markov Model with context dependent phonemes, and the language model is based on a knowledge base approach. To construct the knowledge base, we adopt a hierarchically-structured semantic network and a memory-based parsing technique that employs parallel marker-passing as an inference mechanism. Our parallel speech recognition algorithm is implemented in a multi-Transputer system using distributed-memory MIMD multiprocessors. Experimental results show that the parallel speech recognition system performs better in recognition accuracy than a word network-based speech recognition system. The recognition accuracy is further improved by applying code-phoneme statistics. Besides, speedup experiments demonstrate the possibility of constructing a realtime parallel speech recognition system.

  • The main objective of this study was to investigate the customer's satisfaction level with the digital relationship model of Banco do Brasil Exclusive Business Offices situated in Rio Grande do Sul. Banco do Brasil is one of the largest Brazilian and global financial institutions and conducted a restructuring customer's relationship model since 2015, creating new specific service structures for certain segments, among them exclusive offices. This research had a qualitative step with an internal documentary analysis about the company and a semi-structured interview with manager's offices, in order to check the strategy and the foundations of business model, as well as identify perceptions and the difficulties in implementing this new structure. The quantitative step held the findings about customer satisfaction level in relation to the quality of services provided by offices, through an electronic survey based on the Servqual Scale developed by Parasuraman et al. (1988), which measures the difference between customer's expectations and perception in five dimensions: tangibility, reliability, understanding, safety and empathy. The results shown that Banco do Brasil customers' are satisfied with services offered through the digital model and the new business structure, in which is offered a humanized service together with the best technology. It was found, also, that digital probably would not replace the physical world, but they complement one another. Digital offices and physical agencies will coexist, improving value proposition delivery and better customers experience, satisfy them and build their loyalty.

  • Various inverted pendulum systems have been frequently used as a model for the performance test of the proposed control system. We first identify a rotary-type inverted pendulum system by the Euler-Lagrange method and then design a FLC (Fuzzy Logic Controller) fur the plant. FLC`s are one of useful control schemes fur plants having difficulties in deriving mathematical models or having performance limitations with conventional linear control schemes. Many FLC`s imitate the concept of conventional PD (Proportional-Derivative) or PI (Proportional-Integral) controller. That is, the error e and the change-of-error are used as antecedent variables and the control input u the change of control input Au is used as its consequent variable for FLC`s. In this paper we design a simple-structured FLC for the rotary inverted pendulum system. We also perform some computer simulations to examine the tracking performance of the closed-loop system.
