Structured Information Modeling and Query Method for SMIL Documents (SMIL 문서의 구조 정보 모델 및 검색)

  • The SMIL(Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language) documents are represented as logical structure information, spatial layout structure information, temporal synchronization structure information and hyperlink structure information, according as the structural characteristics of SMIL documents based on XML. This paper proposes the effective modeling and query method for the multi -structure information of inherent SMIL documents. In particular, we present the object-oriented modeling by using UML class diagram in order to represent the objects classes for the structured information of SMIL documents, and the hierarchical structure and the relationships for the objects classes. In addition, the objects classes definition is specified in compliance with SQL3 for database standard language. We also propose the access method and the query representation for hierarchical structure in order to retrieve efficiently the structural objects of SMIL documents.

The Effects of Structured Self-Debriefing Using on the Clinical Competency, Self-Efficacy, and Educational Satisfaction in Nursing Students after Simulation (시뮬레이션 후 구조화된 자가 디브리핑이 간호대학생의 임상수행능력, 자기효능감 및 교육 만족도에 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of structured self-debriefing using 3S models on the clinical competency, self-efficacy, and educational satisfaction in nursing students after simulation. Methods: For this study, 76 third-year undergraduate nursing students from S university were invited. They were divided into two groups, which consisted of a self-debriefing (SDG=41) group and an instructor-led debriefing group (ILDG=35). Collected data was analyzed using Chi-square, t-test, and an independent t-test with the PASW statistics 18.0 for Windows Program. Results: Clinical competency was generally high in the SDG, and statistically significant differences between the SDG and the ILDG occurred after simulations 3, 4, and 5. There were no statistically significant differences in self-efficacy and educational satisfaction between the SDG and the ILDG. However, educational satisfaction in the SDG was slightly higher, while self-efficacy was low compared to the ILDG. Conclusion: The results indicate that the method of structured self-debriefing using a 3S model can be effective in improving clinical competency. Further studies need to be investigated.

A Study on the Performance Noncoherent FH/FSK Including Multitone Jamming (멀티톤 재밍을 고려한 비동기 FH/FSK 성능 분석에 관한 연구)

  • The performance of noncoherent FH/FSK system in the presence of multitone jamming and noise is analyged. Random and the structured jammings are considered as a multitone jamming model. The probability density function is derived and then optimum decision rule is applied to determine error probability of each cases. As a result, error probabilities of random and structured multitone jamming are shown as a function of number of jamming tones, jamming to signal power ratio, jamming signal phase and one jamming tone power to signal power ratio under Worst-case Jamming interference. It is found that error probability is maximam when one jamming tone power to signal power ratio is 1. Also we know that error performance of random and structured jamming is almost equal.

  • This paper describes the design and characteristic analysis of a novel 3-DOF(Degree of Freedom) spherical motor. For multi DOF actuating, several numbers of motors have been used. By the using of normal motors they connected each other in single joint, is necessary to a several type of complex power transmission devices. The 3-DOF spherical motor can drive roll, pitch, and yaw motion in only one unit and it is not necessary to use additional gears and links parts. Therefore the using of 3-DOF spherical motor can eliminate; combined effects of inertia, backlash, non-linear friction, and elastic deformation of gears. In this paper, we propose the novel structured 3-DOF spherical motor and derive its principles of operation. Firstly, we designed concept model of novel structured 3-DOF spherical motor. Next, we derive the control method by calculating the currents. Also, to have intuitive driving control, we express the rotor position in equivalent angle-axis system and determine the exciting period of currents from the calculation result of the currents. To verify the control method, we calculated the currents by the position of rotor. and then we analyzed the characteristics by 3D Finite Element Method when the calculated currents are excited.

  • The Intrsuion Detecion Systems(IDS) are required the accuracy, the adaptability, and the expansion in the information society to be changed quickly. Also, it is required the more structured, and intelligent IDS to protect the resource which is important and maintains a secret in the complicated network environment. The research has the purpose to build the model for the intelligent IDS, which creates the intrusion patterns. The intrusion pattern has extracted from the vast amount of data. To manage the large size of data accurately and efficiently, the link analysis and sequence analysis among the data mining techniqes are used to build the model creating the intrusion patterns. The model is consist of "Time based Traffic Model", "Host based Traffic Model", and "Content Model", which is produced the different intrusion patterns with each model. The model can be created the stable patterns efficiently. That is, we can build the intrusion detection model based on the intelligent systems. The rules prodeuced by the model become the rule to be represented the intrusion data, and classify the normal and abnormal users. The data to be used are KDD audit data.

  • Video information is an important component of multimedia systems such as Digital Library, World-Wide Web (WWW), and Video-On-Demand (VOD) service system. Video information has hierarchical document structure inherently, so it is named "structure video document" in this paper. This paper proposes a data model, a query language, and an indexing scheme for structured video documents in order to store, retrieve, and share video documents efficiently. In representing structured video documents, the object-oriented data modeling technique is used since the hierarchical structure information can be modeled as complex objects. We also define object types for the structure information. Our query language supports not only content-based retrieval, which means the queries based on the structure of video documents, and spatial/temporal relation for video documents. In order to perform structure queries efficiently, as well as to reduce the storage overhead of indices, an optimized inverted index structure is proposed.

  • In this paper, we explore the possibility to use wavelet decomposition based on modified octave structured 5-level filter banks as a set of features for speech recognition. The HMM (Hidden Markov Model) is used as a recognizer 〔l〕. We compared the performance of the wavelet decomposition with the mel-cepstrum and LPC cepstrum. Experimental results show favorable results.

  • This paper presents a design procedure for building block integrated circuits that is based on the digraph relaxation model. A set of optimization procedure is prosented for a minimum area and routing-fecsible placement of IC building blocks. Chip area optimization is subject to perimeter and area constraints on the component rectangles in the dissection.

Decision-tree Model of Treatment-seeking Behaviors after Detecting Symptoms by Korean Stroke Patients

  • Purpose. This study was performed to develop and test a decision-tree model of treatment-seeking behaviors about when Korean patients visit a doctor after experiencing stroke symptoms. Methods. The study used methodological triangulation. The model was developed based on qualitative data collected from in-depth interviews with 18 stroke patients. The model was tested using quantitative data collected from interviews and a structured questionnaire involving 150 stroke patients. The predictability of the decision-tree model was quantified as the proportion of participants who followed the pathway predicted by the model. Results. Decision outcomes of the model were categorized into immediate and delayed treatment-seeking behavior. The model was influenced by lowered consciousness, social-group influences, perceived seriousness of symptoms, past history of hypertension or stroke, and barriers to hospital visits. The predictability of the model was found to be 90.7%. Conclusions. The results from this study can help healthcare personnel understand the education needs of stroke patients regarding treatment-seeking behaviors, and hence aid in the development of educational strategies for stroke patients.

Model Selection for Tree-Structured Regression

  • In selecting a final tree, Breiman, Friedman, Olshen, and Stone(1984) compare the prediction risks of a pair of tree, where one contains the other, using the standard error of the prediction risk of the larger one. This paper proposes an approach to selection of a final tree by using the standard error of the difference of the prediction risks between a pair of trees rather than the standard error of the larger one. This approach is compared with CART's for simulated data from a simple regression model. Asymptotic results of the approaches are also derived and compared to each other. Both the asymptotic and the simulation results indicate that final trees by CART tend to be smaller than desired.
