A Study on Optimal Design of Panel Shape of a Body Structure for Reduction of Interior Noise

  • This paper presents an optimal design process using beads on a body panel to improve interior noise of a passenger vehicle. Except modification of structural members, it is difficult to find effective countermeasures that can work for the intermediate frequency range from 100 Hz to 300 Hz which lies between the booming and low medium frequency. In this study, it is a major goal to find additional counter-measures for this intermediate frequency range by performing optimal design of beads on body panels. The proposed method for design optimization consists of 4 sub-steps, that is, a) problem definition, b) cause analysis, c) countermeasure development and d) validation. The objective function is minimization of interior noise level. The major design variables are the geometrical shape of a bead and combination of beads on the critical panels. Sensitivity analysis and optimization are performed according to the predefined process for an optimal design. It is verified that the proposed design decreases the level of noise transfer function above 5 dB.

스마트 의류 개발과 활용을 위한 소비자 인식 조사 (A Study on the Customer Perception for the Development and Application of Smart Clothing)

  • Korean prior studies on smart clothing seeking complete mixture of clothing and computer with diverse functions in the ubiquitous environment were so mere, while there have been aggressive activities to develop diverse smart clothing products led by the relevant industries and universities in foreign countries. Given prospective growth of the smart clothing market, there should be customers' evaluation of functions and utility of and sensitivity to smart clothing as well. This study conducted a questionnaire to Korean customers in their twenties regarding their perception and liking of and willingness to use smart clothing, and examined the needs of new functions of smart clothing. As a result, the customers in their twenties turned out to like well-designed and comfortable clothing, and be exposed to diverse and continuous computing environment. Also, they have relatively low perception but considerably high liking of smart clothing, indicating their high willingness to use smart clothing products. They cited 'selectable functions' and 'mobile and convenient ' as merits, and 'too expensive' and 'easy to wash' as demerits of smart clothing. In the respect, they proposed many interesting smart clothing ideas, such as 'clothing with automatic temperature-sensing function, which gets higher heat- insulating function by tightening the textile structure in winter and higher ventilating function by loosening the textile structure in summer.' We hope the results of this study will serve basic data for development of more efficient smart clothing in the future.

  • Manufactured easy elevator can drives from the first floor to fifth floor as sequence control circuit in cause opening than existing equipment of experiment and practice, the structure of in the first implementation process are hand-worked control component with push-button, L/S and relay, it is structured a lamp to express that the door open and moving of cage by mechanical action of For/Rev motor-braker of which load. The second structure of implement process to control from the first floor to the fifth floor with the PLC elevator program can control by the sensor of hand-operated function of L/Sl~L/S5 in time that the S/Wl~S/W5 of PLC control panel operates to the For/Rev. The function of two kind process that an elevator is driven by PLC program and the sequence control relay circuit is a mechanical relay sequence control field and it is equipment apparatus of it to get appropriately the technology of For/Rev in that mechanical operating cause of a load using the PLC program. Also the wring circuit using a plug, dissembly. the circuit and the principle of component, and PLC program with the function test can be used the implementation field to the total technology theory about FA.

  • By observing the lateral cephalometric radiograms of the Naso-pharynx of the mouth breatheres with adenoid hyperplasia, orthodontists could use the 'discriminant function' as the supplementary diagnotic aid for the malocclusion cases with mouth bloating. The purpose of this study was to ustilize the 'discriminant function' as the indicator to remove the etiologic factor producing the relapse. The author used the 19 boys and 20 girls, who were the nasal-breathers with normal occlusion as the control group, and 16 boys and 20 girls, who were the mouth breathers with adenoid hypaplasia and malocclusion. The age of the both groups was ranged from 12ys to 15ys. Results were as following; 1. There was the difference in the bony structure of Naso-pharynx between the mouth-breathers nasal-breathers. 2. IMRA of the mouth breathers was smaller than the nasal breathers'. 3. The mouth-breathers had the skeletal open bite tendency. 4. Discriminant function: $$D_i=9.85374+ax_2+bx_4+cx_6+dx_7+ex_8$$ a = -0.1211273 b = 0.5908992 c = -1.508446 d = -1.541869 e = 1.404478.

다축 하중 구조물의 동적 피로수명 예측 (The Prediction of Dynamic Fatigue Life of Multi-axial Loaded Structure)

  • The purpose of this paper is to compare with estimation of equivalent fatigue load in time domain and frequency domain and estimate the fatigue life of structure with multi-axial vibration loading. The fatigue analysis with two methods is implemented with various signals like random, sinusoidal signals. Also an equivalent fatigue life estimated by rainflow cycle counting in time domain is compared with results estimated with probability density function of each signal in frequency domain. In case of frequency domain, equivalent fatigue life can estimate through Dirlik's method with probability density function. And the work proposed in this paper compared the fatigue damage accumulated under uni-axial loading to that induced by multi-axial loading. The comparison is preformed for a simple cantilever beam, which is exposed to vibrations of several directions. For verification of estimation performance of fatigue life, results are compared to those of FEM analysis (ANSYS).

  • Body-on-frame type vehicle has a set of frame bushes which are installed between body and frame fur vibration Isolation. Such frame bushes are important vibration transmission paths to passenger space. In order to reduce the vibration level of passenger space, therefore, the change of complex stiffness of the frame bushes is more efficient than modification of other parts of the vehicle such as body, frame and suspension. The purpose of this study is to reduce the vibration level for ride comfort by optimization of complex stiffness of frame bushes. In order to do this end, simple finite element vehicle model was constructed and the complex stiffness of frame bushes was set to be design variable. Objective function was defined to reflect passenger ride comfort and genetic algorithm and sub-structure synthesis were applied for minimization of the objective function.

  • In order to understand Changeologically on the meaning of FCST's TMJ (temporo-mandibular joint) treatment procedure, Yi, Shike, Bi, Gen trigrams concerning the jaw and change by treatment were analyzed from the viewpoint of semiotic context of hexagon and holistic interpretation on disease. Yi is meant by jaw but actually indicates mouth made by maxilla and mandible, and it's characters are related with nourishing by aliment and words. But when we eat and speak in the daily life, jaw does not nourish properly it's own body by bad habit or postures. For the treatment of this ill state, there needs punishment and correction symbolized with Shike. Shike has fourth nine meaning obstacles between the two strong lines in the upper and lower end, and so it has the function of mastication and get rid of the fourth nine metaphorically indicating subluxation of axis using CBA and auxiliary measures of four movement or laughing methods. Bi expresses the achievement and effects of consecutive mastication process implicating normalized manifestation of jaw and its linked spinal function. Gen symbolizes removing selfish motive or partiality in advance and reaches the best state of the saint righteously self-nourishable human being.

  • In order to reach the high quality of organic thin films such as high mobility for device applications, it is strongly desirable to study the growth properties of pentacene film as a function of evaporation condition. Here, we report the structure and morphology of thermal evaporated pentacene thin film by AFM, SEM, and XRD as a function of the evaporation rate and substrate temperature. These results play a key role in determining the electric performance of organic thin film transistor devices.

  • This paper discusses the application of VSCS(Variable Structure Control System) to position control of a trapezoidal type brushless DC motor. In order to simplify the overall control system and to improve the robustness, a new switching function which is composed of linear combination of only measurable state variables Sr(x) and Sr(x) is defined. The proposed new switching function is implemented using a digital signal processor(DSP). A general PWM amplifier is replaced by an ON-OFF pattern generator for the hardware simplification and digitalization. Experimental results are given to demonstrate the validity of the proposed control method.

  • This paper presents the optimized approximation of finite element modeling for a complex tool holder spindle using both DOE (Design of Experiment) with Optimal Latin Hypercube (OLH) method and approximation modeling method with Radial Basis Function (RBF) neural network structure. The complex tool holder is used for holding a (milling/drilling) tool of a machine tool. The engineering problem of complex tool holder results from the twisting of spindle of tool holder.
