Supervisory Control of Multi-Echelon Production-Distribution Systems with Limited Decision Policy (I)-Control Algorithm-

  • In industrial production-distribution systems, production and purchasing rates, associated inventories, and sales are very critical for the profits of each component in the system. The objective of this study is to investigate an effective information control scheme for a production -distribution system by automatic feedback control techniques. In this work, a dynamic control scheme that has an integrated -error with state-feedback and filtering (ISFF) is proposed as a new algorithm for a dynamic controller. Generalized formulations of the dynamic control are proposed in the continuous-time and discrete-time cases. A methodology for an evaluation of ISFF controller gains using the eigen structure property is presented. When an upper-limit is imposed on the production capability by available factory space and capital equipment, supervisory control is provided to avoid integrator-windup and deterioration of system performance.

인발성형 공정을 통한 이종재료 복합소재 프레임 개발 및 내구성 평가 (Development and Durability Evaluation of a Bimaterial Composite Frame by Pultrusion Process)

  • Recently, the growing demand for weight reduction and improved structure durabilityfor commercial vehicles has led to active research into the development and application of suitablecomposite materials. This studysuggests abimaterial composite frame produced by apultrusion process to replace steel frames. We focused on the development of a composite frameconsisting of two types of materialsby mixing anorthotropic material with anisotropic material. The inside layer consisted of an aluminum pipe, and the outside layer was composed of a glass fiber pipe. To determine the strength and failure mechanisms of the composite material, tensile tests, shear tests, and three-point bending tests were conducted, followed by fatigue tests. After static testing, the fatigue tests were conducted at a load frequency of 5 Hz, a stress ratio (R) of 0.1, and an endurance limit of $10^6$ for the S-N curve. The resultsshowed that the failure modes were related to both the core design and the laminating conditions.

Modeling and control of a flexible continuum module actuated by embedded shape memory alloys

  • Continuum manipulators as a kind of mechanical arms are useful tools in special robotic applications. In medical applications, like colonoscopy, a maneuverable thin and flexible manipulator is required. This research is focused on developing a basic module for such an application using shape memory alloys (SMA). In the structure of the module three wires of SMA are uniformly distributed and attached to the circumference of a flexible tube. By activating wires, individually or together, different rotation regimes are provided. SMA model is used based on Brinson work. The SMA model is combined to model of flexible tube to provide a composite model of the module. Simulating the model in Matlab provided a platform to be used to develop controller. Complex and nonlinear behavior of SMA make the control problem hard especially when a few SMA actuators are active simultaneously. In this paper, position control of the two degree of freedom module is under focus. An experimental control strategy is developed to regulate a desired position in the module. The simulation results present a reasonable performance of the controller. Moreover, the results are verified through experiments and show that the continuum module of this paper would be used in real modular manipulators.

A study on vibration characteristics and tuning of smart cantilevered beams featuring an electo-rheological fulid

  • Electro-Rheological(ER) fluids undergo a phase-change when subjected to an external electic field, and this phase-change typically manifests itself as a many-order-of-magnitude change in the rheological behavior. This phenomenon permits the global stiffness and energy- dissipation properties of the beam structures to be tuned in order to synthesize the desired vibration characteristics. This paper reports on a proof-of-concept experimental investigation focussed on evaluation the vibration properties of hollow cantilevered beams filled with an ER fluid. and consequently deriving an empirical model for predicting field-dependent vibration characteristics. A hydrous-based ER fluid consisting of corn starch and silicone oil is employed. The beams are considered to be uniform viscoelastic materials and modelled as a viscously-damped harmonic oscillator. Natural frequency, damping ratio and elastic modulus are evaluated with respect to the electric field and compared among three different beams: two types of different volume fraction of ER fluid and one type of different particle concentration of ER fluid by weight. Transient and forced vibration responses are examined in time domain to demonstrate the validity of the proposed empirical model and to evaluate the feasibility of using the ERfluid as an actuator in a closed-loop control system.

  • This paper deals with the ways how the AUV is composed of sub-modules to be fault-tolerant during the mission. The emergency situations can be classified into several parts according to the zones where the situations take place - sensor zone, actuator zone, interpreter zone, and communication zone. This paper explains how each element of emergency situation is detected, contained and treated, and as a result, introduce the modular structured AUV controller for the autonomous cruising.

  • 압전 센서와 액츄에이터를 이용한 단순지지 평판의 진동제어에 관해 이론적 고찰을 하였다. 적절한 센서, 액츄에이터의 운동방정식을 구한 후 평판으 ㅣ운동 방정식과 결합해 능동 진동제어 시스템을 구성하였으며, 외력과 제어력의 복합 영향을 고려한 평판의 진동 진폭 반응을 해석하였다. 본 방법의 효용성을 보이기 위해 집중 응력과 압전구동기에 의한 모멘트의 두가지 외력에 대한 진동반응을 수치해석 하였으며, 그 결과 압전 센서와 액츄에이터로써 구조물의 외력에 대한 진동반응을 효율적으로 감소시킬 수 있었다. 본 연구에서 고찰된 방법은 임의의 외력 조건과 제어 알고리즘에 적용이 가능하다.

  • To improve mechanical properties of Cu-Al-Ni alloy by the grain refinement, Cu-Al-Ni SMA ribbons were fabricated by melt spinning apparatus. The variations of microstructure, mechanical properties and transformation characteristics with the condition of rapid solidification and annealing time-temperature were investigated in Cu-Al-Ni SMA ribbons. The ribbons fabricated by melt spinning obtained around 1.5nm in width and 50-60${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in thickness. With increasing wheel speed in order of 10m/s, 15m/s, 20m/s, 30m/s and 3m/s, the grain size was decreased in order of 10${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, 6.25${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, 5.5${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, 3${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and 3${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. $M_{s}$ and $A_{s}$ temperature were decreased with decreasing grain size. By X-ray diffraction test, ordered $\beta$$_1$ phase was observed in all the SMA ribbons and the volume friction of it was increased with increasing wheel speed. With increasing wheel speed, strain was increased from 4.2% to 5.8% and fracture mode has changed from mixture of intergranular and dimple fracture to mixture of fiber structure and dimple fracture. The grain size of ribbon heat-treated at $600^{\circ}C$ was increased with increasing time. In the heat-treated ribbons at 55$0^{\circ}C$, ${\gamma}$$_2$ phases were observed.d.d.

전자기 마그네틱 댐퍼를 이용한 자동차 현가계 진동의 능동 제어 연구 (A Study for Active Vibration Control of a Automotive Suspension System Using Electro-magnetic Damper)

  • This paper is concerned with the design and implementation of magnetic damper system to reduce the vibration of suspension system actively. Cylindrical type electro-magnetic actuator with permanent magnet is analyzed and effective controller design is made. Magnetic force analyzed and transfer function for the total system is determined by experimental data using error minimization method. For experiments, simple suspension structure system is utilized, in which a magnetic damper composed of permanent magnet and digital controller is attached. In order to drive the system, bipolar power amplifier of voltage control type is utilized. Stable and high speed control board is used to perform digital control logic for the given system. This paper shows that the magnetic damper system using phase-lead controller excellently reduces vibration of 1-D.O.F (degree of freedom) suspension system.

  • In this paper, it is presented a new technique to the design and real-time implementation of fuzzy control system based-on digital signal processors in order to improve the precision and robustness for system of industrial robot. Fuzzy control has emerged as one of the most active and fruitful areas for research in the applications of fuzzy set theory, especially in the real of industrial processes. In this thesis, a self-organizing fuzzy controller for the industrial robot manipulator with a actuator located at the base is studied. A fuzzy logic composed of linguistic conditional statements is employed by defining the relations of input-output variable of the controller, In tile synthesis of a FLC, one of the most difficult problems is the determination of linguistic control rules from the human operators. To overcome this difficult, SOFC is proposed for a hierarchical control structure consisting of basic level and high level that modify control rules.

  • 본 논문에서는 압전 세라믹 재료를 작동기 및 감지기로 이용한 사각 경계면이 고정된 얇은 사각평판의 능동 진동제어 방법을 제시한다. 실험 데이터에 기초한 다중 입출력계의 주파수영역 모델링방법을 이용하여 분포된 센서 및 구동기 특성이 포함된 구조물의 동적 특성이 규명된다. 제어기 구조로는 혼합형을 채택하고 되먹임 제어기는 LQG 제어기법에 의해 설계된다. 앞먹임 제어기는 다중 filtered-$x$ 최소자승오차법에 의해 적응되도록 한다. 진동제어에 대한 시뮬레이션 및 실험결과는 제안된 제어기법이 지속적 외란 및 과도적 외란에 효율적으로 적용될 수 있음을 보인다.
