Let C be a curve and V → C an orthogonal vector bundle of rank r. For r ≤ 6, the structure of V can be described using tensor, symmetric and exterior products of bundles of lower rank, essentially due to the existence of exceptional isomorphisms between Spin(r, ℂ) and other groups for these r. We analyze these structures in detail, and in particular use them to describe moduli spaces of orthogonal bundles. Furthermore, the locus of isotropic vectors in V defines a quadric subfibration QV ⊂ ℙV . Using familiar results on quadrics of low dimension, we exhibit isomorphisms between isotropic Quot schemes of V and certain ordinary Quot schemes of line subbundles. In particular, for r ≤ 6 this gives a method for enumerating the isotropic subbundles of maximal degree of a general V , when there are finitely many.
We present a new description of envelope-function equation of the superlattice (SL). The SL wave function and corresponding effective-mass equation are formulated in terms of a linear combination of Bloch states of the constituent material with smaller band gap. In this envelope-function formalism, we review the fundamental concept on the motion of a wave packet in the SL structure subjected to steady and uniform electric fields F. The review confirms that the average of SL crystal momentums K = ($k_x,k_y,q$), where ($K_x,k_y$) are bulk inplane wave vectors and q SL wave vector, included in a wave packet satisfies the equation of motion = $_0+Ft/h$; and that the velocity and acceleration theorems provide the same type of group velocity and definition of the effective mass tensor, respectively, as in the Bulk. Finally, Schlosser and Marcus's method for the band theory of metals has been by Altarelli to include the interface-matching condition in the variational calculation for the SL structure in the multi-band envelope-function approximation. We re-examine this procedure more thoroughly and present variational equations in both general and reduced forms for SLs, which agrees in form with the proposed envelope-function formalism. As an illustration of the application of the present work and also for a brief investigation of effects of band-parameter difference on the subband energy structure, we calculate by the proposed variational method energies of non-strained $GaAs/Al_{0.32}Ga_{0.68}As$ and strained $In_{0.63}Ga_{0.37}As/In_{0.73}Ga_{0.27}As_{0.58}P_{0.42}SLs$ with well/barrier widths of $60{\AA}/500{\AA}$ and 30${\AA}/30{\AA}$, respectively.

In this paper, we propose an automatic displacement system for testing stability of structure. Photogrammetry is a method which can measure accurate 3D data from 2D images taken from different locations and which is suitable for analyzing and measuring the displacement of structure. This paper consists of camera calibration, feature extraction using coded target & retro-reflective circle, 3D reconstruction and analyzing accuracy. Multi-view camera which is used for measuring displacement of structure is placed with different location respectively. Camera calibration calculates trifocal tensor from corresponding points in images, from which Euclidean camera is calculated. Especially, in a step of feature extraction, we utilize sub-pixel method and pattern recognition in order to measure the accurate 3D locations. Scale bar is used as reference to measure. the accurate value of world coordinate..

Nowadays, the 3D community is actively researching on 3D imaging and free-viewpoint video (FVV). The free-viewpoint rendering in multi-view video, virtually move through the scenes in order to create different viewpoints, has become a popular topic in 3D research that can lead to various applications. However, there are restrictions of cost-effectiveness and occupying large bandwidth in video transmission. An alternative to solve this problem is to generate virtual views using a single texture image and a corresponding depth image. A critical issue on generating virtual views is that the regions occluded by the foreground (FG) objects in the original views may become visible in the synthesized views. Filling this disocclusions (holes) in a visually plausible manner determines the quality of synthesis results. In this paper, a new approach for handling disocclusions using depth based inpainting algorithm in synthesized views is presented. Patch based non-parametric texture synthesis which shows excellent performance has two critical elements: determining where to fill first and determining what patch to be copied. In this work, a noise-robust filling priority using the structure tensor of Hessian matrix is proposed. Moreover, a patch matching algorithm excluding foreground region using depth map and considering epipolar line is proposed. Superiority of the proposed method over the existing methods is proved by comparing the experimental results.
To interpret the seismic image precisely, random noises should be suppressed and the continuity of the image should be enhanced by using the appropriate smoothing techniques. Structure-Oriented Filter-Edge Preserving (SOF-EP) technique is one of the methods, that have been actively researched and used until now, to efficiently smooth seismic data while preserving the continuity of signal. This technique is based on the principle that diffusion occurs from large amplitude to small one. In a continuous structure such as a horizontal layer, diffusion or smoothing is operated along the layer, thereby increasing the continuity of layers and eliminating random noise. In addition, diffusion or smoothing across boundaries at discontinuous structures such as faults can be avoided by employing the continuity decision factor. Accordingly, the precision of the smoothing technique can be improved. However, in the case of the structure-oriented semblance technique, which has been used to calculate the continuity factor, it takes lots of time depending on the size of the filter and data. In this study, we first implemented the SOF-EP method and confirmed its effectiveness by applying it step by step to the field data. Next, we proposed and applied the corner response method which can efficiently calculate the continuity decision factor instead of structure-oriented semblance. As a result, we could confirm that the computation time can be reduced by about 6,000 times or more by applying the corner response method.

Recently around the world, coastal erosion is paying attention as a social issue. Various constructions using low-crested and submerged structures are being performed to deal with the problems. In addition, a prediction study was researched using machine learning techniques to determine the wave attenuation characteristics of low crested structure to develop prediction matrix for wave attenuation coefficient prediction matrix consisting of weights and biases for ease access of engineers. In this study, a deep neural network model was constructed to predict the wave height transmission rate of low crested structures using Tensor flow, an open source platform. The neural network model shows a reliable prediction performance and is expected to be applied to a wide range of practical application in the field of coastal engineering. As a result of predicting the wave height transmission coefficient of the low crested structure depends on various input variable combinations, the combination of 5 condition showed relatively high accuracy with a small number of input variables defined as 0.961. In terms of the time cost of the model, it is considered that the method using the combination 5 conditions can be a good alternative. As a result of predicting the wave transmission rate of the trained deep neural network model, MSE was 1.3×10-3, I was 0.995, SI was 0.078, and I was 0.979, which have very good prediction accuracy. It is judged that the proposed model can be used as a design tool by engineers and scientists to predict the wave transmission coefficient behind the low crested structure.

In generally, the resolution of reconstructed three-dimensional images can be seriously degraded by undesired occlusions in the integral imaging system, because the undesired information of the occlusion overlap the three-dimensional images to be reconstructed. To solve the problem of the undesired occlusion, we present an exemplar-based image restoration method in integral imaging system. In the proposed method, a minimum spanning tree-based stereo matching method is used to remove the region of undesired occlusions in each elemental image. After that, the removed occlusion region of each elemental images are re-established by using the exemplar-based image restoration method. For further improve the performance of the image restoration, the structure tensor is used to solve the filling error cause by discontinuous structures. Finally, the resolution enhanced three-dimensional images are reconstructed by using the restored elemental images. The preliminary experiments are presented to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method.

Direct numerical simulation was carried out to study the vortical structures of the flow around a wall-mounted cube in a channel at Re=1,000 and Re=3,500 based on cubic height and bulk mean velocity. The cubic obstacle is situated in the entrance region of the channel flow where the boundary layers are developing. Upstream of the obstacle, steady and unsteady laminar horseshoe vortex systems are observed at Re=1,000 and Re=3,500, respectively; the near-wake flow is turbulent in both cases. The flow separates at each leading sharp edge of the cube, and subsequent vortex roll-up is noticed in the corresponding free-shear layer. The vortex shedding from the upper leading edge (upper vortices) and that from the two lateral leading edges (lateral vortices) are both quasi-periodic and their frequencies are computed. The upper and lateral vortices further develop into hairpin and Λ vortices, respectively. A series of instantaneous contours of the second invariant of velocity gradient tensor helps us identify spatial and temporal behaviors of the vortices in detail. The results indicate that the length and time scales of the vortical structures at Re=3,500 are much shorter than those at Re:1,000. Correlations between the upper and lateral vortices are also reported.
The switched reluctance motors(SRM) are simple and robust in structure. Because the wide range of power and speed, their application field is increasing. In order to design the motors and to evaluate the performance of them properly, an accurate study about the analysis of motor characteristics is required. In this paper, for the analysis of SRM characteristics, the finite element method which is based on the solution of combined equations both the electromagnetic field equations and the circuit equations of stator is adopted. The analysis model is to he assumed two-dimensional and the nonlinear property of magnetic materials is considered by Newton-Raphson method. To verify the usefulness of the proposed algorithm, commercial SRM is chosen and simulated. The computed torques obtained by Maxwell Stress Tensor are compared with the experimental data and it is found that they are in good agreement. By applying the proposed algorithm to two cases, currents of stator and torques at every angular positions of rotor are obtained step by step. Comparing them, one can recognize that torque ripple of SRM can he improved by controlling the switching sequences of driving circuits.
