Although the Free Trade Zone(FTZ) are actually competing with various strategies, the definition and structural understanding of activation strategies are not known very much Therefore this study has launched from this fact, and has the objective of obtaining the structural model for activation strategies in Gunsan FTZ, and understanding the components of activation in these region The process began by abstracting the components that composed the success factors in FTZ through recent research, and grouping it by the most core components. Also, by using the FSM(Fuzzy Structural Modeling) method to understand the structure of the grouped components, and the structural model for activation of FTZ was able to obtain as the result. When analyzing the obtained structural model, expansion of tax reduction, flexibility of law systems and good business environment came out to be the most important component groups, and especially flexibility of law systems and good business environment were the most effective component that effected all the other components overall.

This study is aimed to investigate on the structural properties(like as strength, failure mode, ductility) of beams with multiple openings reinforced with steel tube of circular. The main parameters are follows ;1)location of openings, 2)the number of opening, 3) existence of opening or not. When the locations of opening are respectively maximal moment zone, maximal shear zone, co-existence zone of moment and shear, the specimen with opening at maximal moment zone is not less than that without opening in terms of strength and ductility. The specimens with opening at shear zone and both zones are expected to carry the structural performance corresponding to beam without opening by varying the number and reinforcing method of opening.

The empirical AISC panel zone thickness provision$(t_z\geq(d_z+w_z)$/90) to prevent the cyclic shear buckling of the panel zone was proposed based on the test data of Krawinkler et al. (1971) and Bertero et al. (1973) However, no published records of the equation development or any other background information appear to be available. The calibrated finite element analysis results of this study indicated that the AISC provision was not reasonable. In this study, through including the effects of the column axial force and the aspect ratio of the panel zone, a new equation for the relative strength between the beam and the panel zone was proposed such that the proposed equation can prevent the panel zone shear buckling and reduce the potential fracture associated with the kinking of the column flanges.

The relationships were studied between the range of hardening zone and the intensity of vacuum pressure in case of applying vacuum consolidation drainage method for soil improvement. A testing apparatus was made to measure the range of hardening zone varying the water content and the intensity of vacuum pressure for 3 different the highly compressible dredged clays(Gwangyang, Busan and Mokpo). In case of applying high vacuum pressure, the hardening zone is not spreaded as compared to low vacuum pressure because of the clogging of drainage and developed hardening zone near the drainage.
To investigate the influence of annealing heat treatment on the mechanical properties at the various weld zone, an experimental study was performed for the structural alloy steel. The results obtained from the experimental works are as follows: 1. Hardness and tensile strength showed the highest value at the heat affected zone, which was 5mm apart from bond zone. With increasing of annealing temperature, hardness and tensile strength were decreased at every weld zone, and bound in heat affected zone was increased. 2. Impact strength was the highest at the filler metal, and increased with increment of annealing temperature at filler metal and base metal. However, both at bond and heat affected zones, impact strength was increased from $700^{\circ}C$ of annealing temperature, and was decreased again over $900^{\circ}C$. 3. Mutual relationship between the mechanical properties at filler and base metals showed a similar linearty to that the common structural steel did. However, it varied unsteadly both at bond and heat affected zones. 4. It may be concluded that proper annealing temperature is $700^{\circ}C$ from the viewpoint of hardness, tensile and impact strength.

Fracture Mechanics does work for concrete, provided that a finite nonlinear zone at fracture front is being considered. The development of model for fracture process zone is most important to describe fracture phenomena in concrete. The fracture process zone is a region ahead of a traction-free crack, in which two major mechanisms, microcracking and bridging, play important rules. The toughness due to bridging is dominant compared to toughness induced by microcracking, so that the bridging is dominant mechanism governing the fracture process of concrete. In this paper the bridging zone, which is a part of extended macrocrack with stresses transmitted by aggregates in concrete, is model led by a Dugdale-Barenblatt type model with linear tension-softening curve. Two finite element techniques are shown for the model of fracture process zone in concrete.

This study evaluates the behavior and strength of an anchorage zone of the prestressed concrete box girder bridge on the Kyungboo highway railroad using the 2D SUB-3D STM approach and a linear elastic finite element analysis. The 2D SUB-3D STM approach utilizes several two-dimensional sub strut-tie models that represent the compressive and tensile stress flows of each projected plane of the three-dimensional structural concrete in the selection of a three dimensional strut-tie model, evaluation of the effective strengths of the concrete struts, and verification of the geometric compatibility condition and bearing capacity of the critical nodal zones in the selected three-dimensional strut-tie model. The finite element analysis uses an 8-node brick element and the longitudinal prestressing force is considered as the equivalent nodal force. Analysis results show that the 2D SUB-3D STM approach and linear elastic finite element method can be effectively applied to the analysis and design of three-dimensional structural concrete including a prestressed concrete box girder anchorage zone.
The cable connection zone of the cable-stayed bridge transfers deal-load, live-load, and second-load to the cables on the structural joint zone of the cables and the main girders are the most critical parts in which big cable tensile forces are generated by those loads. Therefore, it is necessary to thoroughly check the main girder, structurally to secure the required stability. Because of the heavy tensile force of cables linked in the connection zone of the cable-stayed bridge, locally concentrated stress, as well as the dispersion of stress, occurs in the structurally contacted point of cable and main girder thus, we need to make a thorough investigation through a detailed structural analysis. Directly delivering the tensile force to the connection zone of the cable, the consequently big effect in the tensile force fluctuation caused by the live-load will make it necessary to review the fatigue strength. As the connection zone of the cable is designed to resist the tensile force of the cable, which is applied to a connecting section as a concentrated force, thick plates are used. These plates are frequently made of welded structure, thus, the investigation of the welding workability is inevitable.

This paper presents the results of the experimental study on the performances of reinforced concrete beams rehabilitated by external unbonded high tension steel-bar. Design variables for the experiment in this study includes the position of anchorage zone of the high tension steel bar, the anchorage length of the reinforcing steel bar and the types of the shear strengthening measures. 5 specimens were tested with one point monotonically increased loads and structural performances such as strength capacities, ductility capacities and failure modes were analysed. It is found that the structural performance of the rehabilitated beams are strongly depended on the location of anchorage zone of the high tension steel-bars. In the case that anchorage zone is located near the critical shear zone, it is observed that the rehabilitated beam is failed in brittle failure mode and the additional shear strengthening is necessitated. But if anchorage zone is properly located or additional shear strengthening device is provided properly, it is also observed that the strength capacity of the rehabilitated beams could be increased more than $200\%$ by the proposed method.

In the strut-tie model design of structural concrete, the importance of the effective strength of concrete strut has been overlooked by many practitioners. The authors believe that the effective strength of concrete strut is an important factor not only in determining steel tie forces but also in verifying the nodal zone strength and geometric compatibility condition of a selected strut-tie model. This study evaluate the effect of the effective strength of concrete strut on structural concrete design by applying the different effective strut strengths to the strut-tie model design of a post-tensioned anchorage zone and a continuous concrete deep beam.
