  • The main objective of this study was to examine structural behavior of reinforced concrete column and steel beam joint. composite specimens about 3/4 of the actual beam column connection assembly were tested by applying cyclic load through actuators. Test variables include face bearing plate(FBP), extended face bearing plate(E-FBP), VIR, U-bar and sub beam. There is not much differenced between specimens with sub beam and without sub beam. Test results also show that the joint strength of test specimen is close to the predicted strength by ASCE guideline.

  • Three high strength reinforced concrete structural walls were tested under the combined action of a constant axial and a horizontal cycle load. The aim of the tests has been to investigate the effects of the web horizontal reinforcement on hysteretic behavior of wall. The results have helped to identify the causes of wall failure and have demonstrated the web horizontal reinforcement does not appear have a significant effect on shear capacity, stiffness and energy dissipation but have a significant effect on the failure mode of the walls.

  • Since bridge decks have many cyclic loadings by such as moving loads in a whole life, effects of cyclic loading as well as static loading should be considered. Particularly, in a view of serviceability and durability, structural performance by cyclic service loadings is very important. In this paper, experimental studies on flexural behavior of RC beams with new types of loop joints under cyclic loadings were conducted. Then the structural behavior for serviceability and strength were discussed.

  • Walls are the most important vertical load-carrying elements of masonry structures. Their bond designs are different from one country to another. This paper presents the shear effects of some structural bond designs commonly used for masonry walls. Six different bond designs are considered and modeled using finite element procedures under lateral loading to examine the shear behavior of masonry walls. To obtain accurate results, finite element models are assumed in the inelastic region. Crack development patterns for each wall are illustrated on deformed meshes, and the numerical results are compared.

  • The purpose of this research is focused on evaluating the flexural behavior of reinforced concrete beam having 22mm diameter re-bars by lapping methods. To compare the existent lapping method with mechanical lapping methods, four cases of concrete beams were tested to be failed flexurally by monotonic loading. Based on test results, the relations between load and displacement, ductility, maximum load was comparatively analyzed. The structural performance on four cases of members were evaluated.

  • The purpose of this experimental study is to understand the flexural Behavior of structural deck plate continuous slabs (power deck plate slabs). The main variables considered in this test are thickness of the slab and the deck plate. Five specimens that have length of 600cm and width of 60cm were manufactured. Test results indicated that the ultimate flexural strength of power deck plate slabs was conservative compared to ACI flexural provisions. But, suitable arrangement of bar of top reinforcement is needed for crack control.
