  • The strain distribution in a wide strip drawn through a wedge-shaped die is obtained from the numerical integration of strain increments along the flow path of material points in the slipline field for a non-hardening material under the plane strain condition. It is shown that the strain in the surface layer increases with friction and that the strain at the mid-plane is a function of area reduction only. The redundant deformation factor, obtained from the average strain in a drawn strip, increases with friction. For the workability analysis of a strip drawing process, the strain states along with hydrostatic stresses are needed for the evaluation of a damage function based on the hole-growth mechanism of ductile fracture. The critical maximum of the damage function is assumed to be a material constant. As a result, mid-plane cracking is likely to occur in a process at a small reduction, with a large die angle, and in poor lubrication. Distortions of an initially transverse line are also calculated.

  • Bias current dependence of a superconducting strip photon detector is studied in the wavelength range of 405 to 1310 nm. The detector is made of an $MgB_2$ meander pattern with the line width of 135 nm and thickness of 10 nm. At 1310 nm, the detection efficiency exponentially decreases as the bias current decreases. While at 405 nm, the detection efficiency almost saturates in the high bias current region. These features suggest that the intrinsic detection efficiency of the $MgB_2$ detector is high at 405 nm.

  • This paper described about the system which can be inspect work roll surface for deciding a milling schedule and roll changing at hot strip mill in POSCO. Developed system consists of CCD camera, Xenon lamp with fiber bundle and mechanical control part. The water probe build up water pole between head of probe and roll surface to acquisite a good image from a work roll surface under the bad environment with steam, cooling water and high temperature. This system is possible to monitor a work roll surface of about 12${\times}$9mm. We have shown the validation of the developed system which can monitor the evolution of degradation on work roll surface.

  • In this paper, we consider the problem of capacitance matrix calculation for strip-line and other interconnects crossings. The problem is formulated in the spectral domain using the method of moments. Sinc-functions are employed as basis functions. Conventionally, such a formulation leads to a large, non-sparse system of linear equations in which the calculation of each of the coefficient requires the evaluation of a Fourier-Bessel integral. Such calculations are computationally very intensive. In the method proposed here, we provide simplified expressions for the coefficients in the moment method matrix. Using these simplified expressions, the coefficients can be calculated very efficiently. This leads to a fast evaluation of the capacitance matrix of the structure. Computer simulations are provided illustrating the validity of the method proposed.

  • In this paper, a novel design of multilayer ceramic-based Transmit/Receive (T/R) switch using Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramic (LTCC) technology have been presented. Compact T/R switch has been designed by transforming quarter-wave transmission line to its lumped equivalent circuit. Especially, high-Q three dimensional inductors with double strip have been proposed and incorporated. The proposed inductor has been modeled by multi-conductor coupled lines. A measured inductor quality factor (Q) of 80 and a Self-Resonance Frequency (SRF) of 6.6 GHz have been demonstrated. The inductor library has been incorporated into the design of WCDMA T/R switch.

  • Dispersion characteristics of shielded single, coupled and edge-offset microstrip structures are investigated by using hybrid mode analysis with Galerkin's method in the spectral domain. Two new basis functions for the longitudinal strip current are proposed and convergence rates of the solutions for the basis functions are compared. Current distribution of the coupled line is obtaind from that of the single line by using shift theorem of the Fourier transform. In addition, effects of off-centered inner strip conductor on dispersion are also discussed Numerical results include various structual parameters and are compared with other available data and good agreements are observed.

  • External electromagnetic penetration occurs hazard effects on electronic and electrical systems. complementary full wave analysis method need much of analysis time, memory. But BLT method need less time, memory. BLT method need to decouple the system into each volumes and surfaces for setting tubes and junctions. When 1 V/m impulsive EMP noise penetrates into PCB strip line(w=2mm, L=6cm), ringing wave appears at each loads attached in strip-line. Its frequency is 91.8MHz.

  • In this paper, electric field interference was analyzed in the Printed Circuit Board to restrain the elcctromagnetic wave using Boundary Element Method and Finite Element Method. First, charge density distribution was simulated using Boundary Element Method and the characteristic impedance was caculated to restrain the reflex wave, and mutual capacitance was caculated in the multi-strip line PCB. Finally, electric field was simulated in the variable patterns using Finite Element Method. As a result, the optimal structure and characteristics of strip line was obtained and the imformations about the optimal design pattern could be obtained with the analysing the feild distribution.

  • In this paper, we study the problem of computing smooth feature curves from CAD type point clouds models. The proposed method reconstructs feature curves from the intersections of developable strip pairs which approximate the regions along both sides of the features. The generation of developable surfaces is based on a linear approximation of the given point cloud through a variational shape approximation approach. A line segment sequencing algorithm is proposed for collecting feature line segments into different feature sequences as well as sequential groups of data points. A developable surface approximation procedure is employed to refine incident approximation planes of data points into developable strips. Some experimental results are included to demonstrate the performance of the proposed method.
