We define a SG(String Graph) and an ASG(Alive String Graph) to the purpose to do static analysis. For a life and death judgment, we apply the rule to the situation which the stone is included and not included. We define the rules that are SR(String Reduction), ER(Empty Reduction), ET(Edge Transform), and CG(Circular Graph), when the stone is not included. We define the rules that are DESR(Dead Enemy Strings Reduction) and SCSR(Same Color String Reduction), when the stone is included. We evaluate a SG that it is an ASG or not by using rules. And we use APC(Articulation Point Check) nile according to number of articulation points lot a life and death judgment. The performance of our method has been tested on the problem set IGS_31_counted form the Computer Go Test Collection. The test set contains 11,191 Points and 1,123 Strings. We obtain 92.5% accuracy of Points and 95.7% accuracy of Strings.

A vehicle longitudinal control strategy with guaranteed string stability for vehicle stop-and-go(SG) cruise control is presented in this paper. The SG cruise control systems should be designed such that string stability can be guaranteed in addition to that every vehicle in a string of SG cruise control vehicles must track any bounded acceleration and velocity profile of its preceding vehicle with a bounded spacing and velocity error. An optimal vehicle following control law based on the information of the 1311owing distance (clearance) and its velocity relative to the vehicle ahead (relative velocity) has been used and string stability analysis has been done based on the control law and constant time gap spacing policy, A validated multi-vehicle simulation package has been shown that the string stability analysis using the approximate model of the vehicle servo-loop which includes vehicle powertrain and brake control system dynamics is valid in the design of the SG cruise control law with guaranteed string stability.
In viol family string instruments vibration of string is transmitted to the front plate through bridge to cause resonance of the instrument body. Therefore, the vibration of string is the source of sound and the properties, the structure, and the boundary conditions of string are expected to have significant effect on the sound. In this study the vibration of strings in cello when one end is fixed and the other end is pressed with finger tip is studied and compared with the case of the fixed-fixed ends. The result of analysis and experiment shows that the vibration of the string that is fixed at one end and pressed with finger tip at the other end is significantly influenced by the contact condition of the string with the finger tip and also quite different from that of the fixed-fixed string, It also suggests that the sound of a cello can be significantly influenced by the contact condition between the string and the finger tip in the fingered string.

We define a string stability heuristically and divide the board into group territory in computer Go. Elements of string stability are eye(E), eye-like(EL), special-eye(SE), extension-point(EX), liberty(L) and connection-point(CP). A string stability have 5 levels that are complete alive, alive, unsettled, danger and killed level. A group is made strings and link-points and have the territory. Territory division of a group is acquired by strings stability and link-points which are marym-mo, hankan, nalil-ja, and twokan between string and string. We compare our method with the result of evaluation of professional player. As a result, the mean error is 8.7.
In last 30 years, mathematical tangle theory is applied to molecular biology, especially to DNA topology. The recent issues and research results of this topic are reviewed in this paper. We introduce a tangle which models an enzyme-DNA complex. The studies of 2-string tangle equations related to Topoisomerase II action and site-specific recombination is discussed. And 3-string tangle analysis of Mu-DNA complex, n-string tangle analysis ($n{\geq}4$) of DNA-enzyme synaptic complexes are also discussed.
String, as clothing material, has played a functional, symbolic and decorative role in garment traditionally. The string has a shape of continuous line, which is one of the basic elements for the design: points, lines and sides. It can effectively represent the silhouette by making our vision flow to a certain direction. This study reinterprets the traditional form of string in a new modern way by developing "Tube-Shaped String" which has an empty hole in the middle. As a creative attempt, the new tube-shaped string can be used for fashion design by applying it to unique shapes, colors, textures, and draping expressions. In a role dimension, this string can become the main fabric material. The methods of the study are as follows. First, it examines the traditional shape and role of string in the history of garment. Second, it studies modern designers, such as Christian Dior, Ann Demeulemeester, Dolce & Gabbana, and 3.1 Phillip Lim, who have applied the string to their design, and have explored the various potentials of the string in the past four years. Finally, based on the theoretical research and practical analysis, this study creates a new tube-shaped string, applying its own technique to fabricating three garments: jacket, dress, and body suit. As a result, each garment shows unique silhouettes, rich texture and color, and rhythmical movement. The unique silhouettes reflect the shape and movement of different bodies. The texture and color are created through the shades of the string which come from the overlapping strips. The garments come with an unbeatable aesthetic design compared to conventional uniform design. As a new material in clothing, this tube-shaped string can be developed to satisfy the public, which has widely varying tastes in fashion.
This study aimed to analyze the color differences by warp direction of textile mosaics by focusing on two representative textile wallcovering types, woven and string. Mosaics made of string can be expressed as having three-dimensionality based on color differences resulting from the warp direction of the string. String wallcoverings, unlike woven or non-woven wallcoverings, only have vertically oriented warp lamination on the backing paper without weft, and therefore, the reflection and backing color can be expressed differently depending on the angle of the mosaic. In this study, two identical wallcoverings were manufactured using the same materials but using different textile types, woven and string. The wallcoverings underwent die-cutting by each angle and were deployed in cube form. The analysis was based on ISO 5631-1:2015. The color difference between the two wallcoverings, woven and string, was shown as ΔE* 9.29. Based on the standard deviation of the color difference for each mosaic angle, woven ranged from ΔE* 0.09 to 0.94 and string ranged from ΔE* 1.92 to 3.74, showing a larger color difference. Thus, using the color differences of string to create a mosaic wallcovering improved dimensionality.

Objectives: The purpose of this study is to develop the pulse wave analysis model with the palpation pressure and the skin effect. Methods: The position of pulse diagnosis was modeled with elastic string system. The skin was modeled with the elastic string, the palpation pressure with tension in the string, and the blood vessel pressure with external force on the string. Using the wave equation in the physics, the simplified pulse model was transformed to the mathematical model. Results: To the verification of the model, the effects of the palpation pressure and the skin effect were tested. Conclusions: There was optimal palpation pressure, describing the exact vessel pressure pattern and maximizing the amplitude of the skin displacement. For the optimal condition, the increased palpation pressure was needed with the increased skin thickness. Therefore, the developed pulse wave analysis model showed the good results.
In the present study, we propose a virtual boundary method for simulation of massive inextensible flexible strings immersed in viscous fluid flow. The fluid motion is governed by the Navier-Stokes equations and a momentum forcing is added in order to bring the fluid to move at the same velocity with the immersed surface. A massive inextensible flexible string model is described by another set of equations with an additional momentum forcing which is a result of the fluid viscosity and the pressure difference across the string. The momentum forcing is calculated by a feedback loop. Simulations of several numerical examples are carried out, inlcuding a hanging string which starts moving under gravity without ambient fluid, a string swimming within a uniform flow and a uniform flow over two side-by side strings. The numerical results agree well with the theoretical analysis and previous experimental observations. Preliminary results of a swimming elongated fishlike body will also be presented.
The inverse problem about the theoretical analysis of a drill string bending in a channel of an inclined bore-hole with localized geometrical imperfections is studied. The system of ordinary differential equations is first derived based on the theory of curvilinear flexible elastic rods. One can then use these equations to investigate the quasi-static effects of the drill string bending that may occur in the process of raising, lowering and rotation of the string inside the bore-hole. The method for numerical solution of the constructed equations is described. With the proposed method, the phenomenon of the drill column movement, its contact interaction with the bore-hole surface, and the frictional seizure can be simulated for different combinations of velocities, directions of rotation and axial motion of the string. Geometrical imperfections in the shape of localized smoothed breaks of the bore-hole axis line are considered. Some numerical examples are presented to illustrate the applicability of the method proposed.
