Hardened layer and compressive residual stress created by carburized treatment effect on bending fatigue strength of gear massively. Also, shot peening treatment improves the strength of carburized gear as it does the hardness and residual stress of surface layer. In these days shot peening techniques are welcomed as one of physical improvement ways around the surface of materials. It is used widely because qualitative analysis of shot peening has become possible and surface treatment can be done with very little costs compared to other surface improvement methods. Therefore this study investigates the effect of shot peening in surface shape and bending fatigue strength after doing many kinds of shot peening treatments, then doing fatigue test and also explained characteristics of shot peening gear.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of family stress on instances of depression in married, middle-aged women; more specifically, this study examined the moderating effects family strength and support have on depression in middle-aged women. Three hundred women from 40 to 60 years of aged, all of whom resided in Gyeonggi-do, participated in this study. For the final analysis, 249 self-reported questionnaires were used. Descriptive statistics, correlative analysis, and multiple regression analysis were conducted using SPSS ver. 21.0. The major results of this study were as follows. First, the mean scores of family strengths and family support were higher than the median scores. The mean level of depression was lower than the median of depression frequency, while the mean for the family stress scores was the same as the median. Second, depressions frequency was influenced by family type, health status, and average income. There was a positive correlation between depression and family stress. Third, family support had a moderating effect on depression. Family strength did not seem to have the same moderating effect, while there did seem to be a moderating effect of instrumental support from families on the relationship between family stress and depression. In conclusion, to decrease the frequency of depression in married, middle-aged women', it may be necessary to increase family support, and it seems to be especially necessary to increase the amount of instrumental support from families.
The method of cross-section analysis for different sections in a structural frame has been widely investigated since the 1960s for determination of sectional capacities of beam-columns. Many hand-calculated equations and design graphs were proposed for the specific shape and type of sections in pre-computer age decades ago. In design of many practical sections, these equations may be uneconomical and inapplicable for sections with irregular shapes, leading to the high construction cost or inadequate safety. This paper not only proposes a versatile numerical procedure for sectional analysis of beam-columns, but also suggests a method to account for residual stress and geometric imperfections separately and the approach is applied to design of high strength steels requiring axial force-moment interaction for advanced analysis or direct analysis. A cross-section analysis technique that provides interaction curves of arbitrary welded sections with consideration of the effects of residual stress by meshing the entire section into small triangular fibers is formulated. In this study, two doubly symmetric sections (box-section and H-section) fabricated by high-strength steel is utilized to validate the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method against a hand-calculation procedure. The effects of residual stress are mostly not considered explicitly in previous works and they are considered in an explicit manner in this paper which further discusses the basis of the yield surface theory for design of structures made of high strength steels.
Thermal shock resistance of 80Al2O3-20Al composite and monolithic alumina ceramics was compared. Fracture strength was measured by using a 4-pont bending test after quenching. Thermal stresses of the ceramics and ceramic-metal composites were calculated using a finite element analysis. The bending strength of the Al2O3 ceramics decreased catastropically after quenching from 20$0^{\circ}C$ to $0^{\circ}C$. The bending strength of the composite also decreased after quenching from 200~2$25^{\circ}C$, but the strength reduction was much smaller than for Al2O3. The maximum thermal stress occured in the monolithic alumina ceramics when exposed to a temperature difference of 20$0^{\circ}C$ was 0.758 GPa. The same amount of stress occured in the Al2O3-Al composite when the temperature difference of 205$^{\circ}C$ used.

The objectives of this research are to establish the criteria of peel occurrence considering the shape of bond terminus and to compare the strength properties of some adhesive joints. The criteria of feel occurrence at the bond terminus was suggested. Peel loads of some adhesive joint(butt joint, T -shape specimen, single lap joint) were determined from tensile tests. Principal stress distributions of these joints were determined from finite element method analysis. Then, peel occurrence was estimated with intensity of stress singularity ' $K_{prin.}$' when the terminus shape was square, with average principal stress when the terminus shape was rounded. The conclusions are summarized as follows; (1) In the non-filleted model(e.g., butt joint, T-shape specimen), principal stress shows singularity at the bond terminus, intensity of stress(principal stress) singularity ' $K_{prin.}$&apso; can use as the criteria of peel occurrence at the bond terminus. (2) In the filleted model(e.g., single lap joint), principal stress doesn't show singularity at the bond terminus. Average principal stress can use as the criteria of peel occurrence at the bond terminus.'t show singularity at the bond terminus. Average principal stress can use as the criteria of peel occurrence at the bond terminus.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the structural safety of the front-end loader for the 90 kW class of agricultural tractors in impact test conditions. Deformation and stress on the loader under the impact test conditions are analyzed using the commercial finite element analysis software ANSYS. In previous research dealing with the initial design of the loader, the maximum stress occurred in the mount and exceeded the yield strength of the material. In this paper, an improved design of the mount of the loader was proposed to reduce the stress concentration in the initial design. The safety of the improved design was verified by performing rigid-body dynamics analysis, transient structural analysis, and static structural analysis under three impact test conditions: a drop and catch test, a corner pull test, a corner push test. It was found that the local stress concentration in the mount that appeared in the initial design was greatly reduced in the improved design, and that the maximum stresses occurred in the three impact test conditions are smaller than the yield strength. It is expected that the design improvement of the mount proposed in this study and the method of analysis may be effectively used to enhance structural safety in the development of new model front loaders in the future.

This paper deals with the mechanical stress analysis due to electromagnetic forces and the optimal design of the link considering the stress. The link in Interior Permanent Magnet Brushless Motor(IPM) have influence on both mechanical and magnetic performance. The decrease of the link thickness serves to improve the torque, whereas this decreases the strength of link. Therefore, it is necessary to determine the appropriate link thickness considering electromagnetic forces and thermal expansion. The effects of the variation of link thickness on the mechanical stress and the electromagnetic performance are analyzed by the structural and electromagnetic Finite Element Method. In addition, the mechanical structure design of the link is performed to reinforce the mechanical strength against magnetic forces while preserving a food magnetic torque.

In this study, we manufactured the ultra-high strength concrete using mineral admixture which is easily workable. From the test results of compressive strength, It is concluded that the proper replacement ratio of silica fume should not exceed to 10% and the replacement of slag is more effective that the replacement of fly ash to gain very high compressive strength. Thermal stress analysis is conducted to find the way of controlling the thermal crack of ultra-high strength concrete. As results of thermal stress analysis, it was found that reducing placing temperature of concrete(pre-cooling) is effective to reduce thermal crack and placing concrete in high air temperature is more effective than placing concrete in low air temperature.

Design strength of structural members could be determined by applying a strength reduction factor to nominal strength. At the beginning point of the transition region for the strength reduction factor, P=0.1$\sigma$$_{ck}A_g$, only sectional area and concrete strength are adopted as the variables of P=0.1$\sigma$$_{ck}A_g$. Therefore, P=0.1$\sigma$$_{ck}A_g$ is the empirically adopted which does not consider steel ratio, steel yielding stress, and steel arrangement. So, this research was perpormed the computer program for the analysis of axial force-moment-curvature relationship of reinforced concrete columns by sectional behaviour nonlinear analysis using a concrete compressive stress-strain curve, in order to investigate the ductility of reinforced concrete columns. As a result, ductility indicies of axial force, P=0.1$\sigma$$_{ck}A_g$, represented the lack of consistency of the indicies value for the various sections.
