Moderating Effect of General Self-Efficacy on the Relationship between Pregnancy Stress, Daily Hassles Stress, and Preterm Birth Risk in Women Experiencing Preterm Labor: A Cross-Sectional Study

  • Purpose: This study investigated the moderating role of general self-efficacy (GSE) on how stress caused by pregnancy and daily hassle affect the risk of preterm birth (PTB) in women experiencing preterm labor. Methods: This cross-sectional study included 196 pregnant women experiencing preterm labor before 37 weeks of gestation. We used IBM SPSS Statistics 27 and employed Hayes process macro version 4 (model 1) and hierarchical regression to analyze the moderating effect of GSE on the relationship between pregnancy stress, daily hassle stress, and PTB risk. Results: Stress caused by pregnancy and daily hassle was positively correlated to PTB risk (r = .54, p < .001; r = .25, p < .001, respectively). While GSE did not significantly correlate with pregnancy stress, it negatively correlated with daily hassle stress (r = - .19, p = .009). GSE significantly moderated the relationship between combined stressors and PTB risk. As GSE levels increased, escalation in PTB risk in response to increasing stress levels was a more pronounced, highlighting a complex interaction between higher GSE levels and response to escalating stress levels. This model accounted for 39.5% of the variance in the PTB risk. Conclusion: Higher GSE may amplify the impact of stress on PTB risk, rather than mitigate it, which suggests a more nuanced role of GSE in the stress response of pregnant women at risk of preterm labor. GSE should be considered in care strategies, and managing its impact on stress perception and responses in pregnant women is crucial.

환경적 간호중재가 개심술 환자의 중환자실섬망증, 환경적 스트레스 및 수면에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of the Environmental Nursing Intervention on ICU Delirium, Environmental Stress and Sleep in Patients Underwent Cardiac Surgical Procedures)

  • Purpose: To examine the effects of the environmental nursing intervention using eye-shields and earplugs on the incidence of delirium, environmental stress and sleep among the patients with open-heart surgery in the post-cardiac ICU(intensive care units). Method: This study was a non-equivalent control group non-synchronized design. The subjects consisted of 93 patients who received ICU care after the cardiac surgery. Among those, 32 subjects was assigned in one experimental group with eye-shields, 31 in the other experimental group with earplugs, and 30 in the control group. ICU delirium was measured by CAM-ICU, environmental stress by ICUESS, and sleep by two sleep scales developed by Oh, et al. and Kim. The data were analyzed by the SPSS 13.0 program including frequency, percentage, t-test, $x^2$ test, ANOVA and ANCOVA. Results: There are no statistically significant differences in the incidence of delirium among three groups (p=.139). The ICU environmental stress scores from the subjects of two experimental groups demonstrated lower (F=6.731, p=.002) than the control group. Also, the degrees of sleep pattern (p=.000, p=.000) and sleep satisfaction (p=.000, p=.000) were greater than those of the control group. Conclusion: Although the environmental nursing intervention using eye-shields and earplugs did not demonstrate the effects in decreasing the incidence of ICU delirium, it has affirmative effects in decreasing environmental stress and improving the quality sleep among the patients with open-heart surgery while they stay in ICU. Further nursing implications are discussed.

감정노동자의 직무스트레스, 역할갈등, 자아탄력성 및 이직의도의 관계 (Relation among Emotional Labors's Job Stress, Role Conflict, Ego-Resilience and Job Turnover)

  • 본 연구는 감정노동자의 직무스트레스와 역할갈등이 이직의도에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고, 이들 관계에서 자아탄력성의 조절효과를 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해서 서울과 경기의 보육시설 60곳을 선정하여 감정노동자인 보육교사를 대상으로 설문지를 배포하였고, 총 248부를 분석하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 17.0과 AMOS 프로그램을 사용하여 연구문제를 검증하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 감정노동자의 직무스트레스가 감정노동자의 이직의도에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나타났다. 둘째, 감정노동자의 역할갈등이 이직의도에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나타났다. 마지막으로, 감정노동자의 직무스트레스와 역할갈등이 이직의도에 영향을 미치는 관계에서 자아탄력성이 조절효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

가정전문간호사의 감정노동, 직무 스트레스, 개인적 자원의 직무만족도와의 관련성 (Relations of Job Satisfaction with Emotional Labor, Job Stress, and Personal Resources in Home Healthcare Nurses)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study is to identify effects of emotional labor, job stress and personal resources on job satisfaction in home healthcare nurses. Methods: The subjects were 149 home healthcare nurses working for home healthcare centers at 61 hospitals. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire from November 22, 2010 to February 28, 2011 and analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, Hierarchical multiple linear regression analysis. Results: The mean score of emotional labor level was $4.23{\pm}0.95$, that of job stress level $3.39{\pm}0.57$, that of personal resources $3.38{\pm}0.36$, and that of job satisfaction $3.31{\pm}0.40$. There were positive correlations among emotional labor, job stress, personal resources and job satisfaction. After age, educational level, job position, and work period in home health care, and traffic accident were controlled, the variables, emotional labor (${\beta}$=-.198, p = .034) and personal resources (${\beta}$=.236, p = .005) turned out to account for 13.3% of the job satisfaction. But job stress was not a statistically significant predictor. Conclusion: Home healthcare nurses were needed to minimize emotional labor and revitalize personal resources in order to maintain a comparatively high level of job satisfaction. Furthermore, it is necessary to carry out systematic education and an organizational management scheme into practice.

요양병원 간호사의 의사소통능력, 직무스트레스가 이직의도에 미치는 영향 : 감성지능 조절효과 중심으로 (The Effect of Communication Competency and Job Stress of Long Term Care Hospital Nurses on Turnover Intention focused on control effect of emotional intelligence)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 요양병원 간호사의 의사소통능력, 직무스트레스가 이직의도에 미치는 영향을 알아보고, 의사소통능력, 직무스트레스 이직의도의 관계에 감성지능의 조절 효과를 검증하는 서술적 조사연구이다. 요양병원 간호사 240명을 대상으로 2018년 2월 1일부터 28일까지 이루어졌다. 자료분석방법은 IBM SPSS Win 20.0 프로그램을 이용하여 기술통계, t-test, ANOVA. 상관관계, 단계적 다중 회귀분석과 조절효과는 위계적 다중 회귀분석으로 분석하였다. 연구결과 이직의도는 의사소통능력과 직무스트레스에 따라 높게 나타났다. 이직의도는 직무스트레스와 양의 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났으며 이직의도에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 요인은 급여만족도, 직무스트레스, 연령으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과를 토대로 요양병원 간호사의 이직의도를 줄이기 위해서는 임상특성을 반영한 체계적인 프로그램 개발과 교육이 필요하다.

어머니의 양육스트레스와 부부 간 의사소통, 유아의 유아교육기관 적응 간의 구조적 관계 (Structural Relationship Between Maternal Parenting Stress, Marital Communication, and School Adaptation in Early Childhood of Young Children)

  • 본 연구는 어머니의 양육스트레스가 유아의 유아교육기관 적응에 미치는 영향을 알아보고, 어머니의 양육스트레스와 유아의 유아교육기관 적응 간의 관계에서 부부 간 의사소통의 매개효과를 검증하는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 대상은 전북 J시에 거주하는 유아 219명과 그들의 어머니이다. 본 연구에서 수집된 데이터는 spss 21.0, amos 21.0으로 분석하였으며, 구조방정식 모형을 통해 매개효과를 검증하였다. 본 연구결과는 첫째, 어머니의 양육스트레스와 부부 간 의사소통은 유아의 유아교육기관 적응에 직접적인 영향력을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 어머니의 양육 스트레스와 유아의 유아교육기관 적응 관계에서 부부 간 의사소통은 매개효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 양육스트레스 감소와 긍정적인 부부 간 의사소통의 중요성에 대한 방안을 논의하였다.

전담간호사의 직무스트레스, 소진 및 직무만족도의 관계 (Relationships between Occupational Stress, Burnout and Job Satisfaction of Physician Assistants)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to examine relationships between occupational stress, burnout and job satisfaction of PAs(Physician Assistant). Methods: This study was a descriptive study, and 136 PAs were recruited from hospitals in B metropolitan city. The study was approved by KUIRB, and data were collected from September to October, 2013. Results: A strong positive correlation was observed between occupational stress and burnout (r=.715, p<.001). Strong negative correlations were observed between occupational stress and job satisfaction (r=-.761, p<.001), and between burnout and job satisfaction (r=-.624, p<.001). Conclusion: An intervention program should be developed for PAs to reduce occupational stress and burnout in the health care environment.

Wound Healing Consequences of Psychological Stress

  • The relationship of psychological stress to human health is of interest to health care providers and researchers in the field of psychoneuroimmunology. The effect of stress on wound healing is a sub-component of study within the larger context, with relevance to both wounds that are acute and chronic in nature. Data from several studies that explore the influence of stress on events early in the trajectory of wound healing suggest that activation of both the sympathetic nervous system and the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis are involved. There is consistent evidence that psychological stress is associated with dysregulation of immune and other responses to tissue injury that are required for healing and also to the final wound healing result. Current data pertinent to psychological stress and its wound healing consequences is reviewed and a biopsychosocial framework for future studies in this area is suggested and described.

맞벌이 부부의 성역할태도와 사회적 지원이 양육스트레스에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Double-Income Couples'Gender Role Attitudes and Recognition of Social Support on Parenting Stress)

  • This study examined the effects of gender role attitudes and recognition of social support on parenting stress in double-income couples. Participants included 102 double-income couples who had children enrolled in employersupported childcare centers. The findings showed that those husbands or wives who had recognized a higher level of spousal cooperation reported to have felt lower levels of parenting stress. Further, husbands and wives who had held traditional attitudes about gender roles reported to experience higher levels of parenting stress. However, when the significance in predictability was compared, the recognition of spousal cooperation was found to be the only variable explaining the variance husbands' and wives' parenting stress levels.

여자 간호대학생의 스트레스, 양생(養生)과 주관적 행복감 (Stress, Yangsaeng and Subjective Happiness Among Female Undergraduate Nursing Students in the Republic of Korea)

  • Purpose: This study investigates the relationship among stress, Yangsaeng and subjective happiness in female undergraduate nursing students in the Republic of Korea. Method: The subjects of this study were 283 female undergraduate nursing students in Korea. Data were collected using a self-reporting questionnaire. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficients, independent t-tests, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe test, Stepwise multiple regression and Cronbach's ${\alpha}$. Results: Yangsaeng negatively correlated with stress (r=-.299, p<.001) but positively correlated with subjective happiness (r=.440, p<.001). Stress negatively correlated with subjective happiness (r=-.238, p<.001). Stepwise multiple regression revealed that Yangsaeng and satisfaction with the field of nursing explained 25.4% of subjective happiness. Conclusion: The Yangsaeng oriental health care regimen could lower stress and heighten subjective happiness. Therefore, Yangsaeng could be recommended as a feasible means of promoting health and subjective happiness.
