  • Steel cord which is used as reinforcement in car tires is produced by wet-drawing process. Recently the quality improvement of the steel cord product is demanded by the tire market. After cold drawing process, produced residual stresses have a harmful effect on the durability of the wire and become the cause which decreases the quality of the product. Therefore, to improve the quality of the steel cord product, the research regarding the method of residual stress relaxation is necessary. To evaluate the quality of the cold drawn wire, it is very important to measure the residual stress, because the residual stress decides a variety of the quality level which is demanded in the cold drawn wire. The aim of this study is to propose residual stress relaxation method in the drawn wire using FE-analysis. The validity of the analysis results was verified by Nano indentation test.

  • Purpose: This study was done to investigate differences in maternal role confidence and parenting stress according to the infant's feeding method. Method: The participants were 257 mothers of infants aged 5$\sim$7 months. 145 breast-feeding mothers and 112 bottle-feeding mothers participated. The Maternal Role Confidence Scale and Parenting Stress Index(PSI) were used. Results: The score of maternal role confidence of breast-feeding mothers (3.28) was significantly higher than that of bottle-feeding mothers(2.84). In addition, the parenting stress level of breast-feeding mothers(1.80) was lower than that of bottle-feeding mothers(2.97). However, the scores of maternal role confidence and the parenting stress level were not different according to the mother's and infant's personality characteristics. There was a significant negative correlation between the score of maternal role confidence and parenting stress levels(r=-.55, p<.001). Conclusion: Breast feeding mothers had more confidence of their maternal role, and a lower parenting stress level. Therefore, nurses must encourage infant mothers to breast feed since it is the best option for mothers as well as infants.

  • Objectives: Work stress is associated with non-communicable diseases, increased healthcare costs, and decreased work productivity among employees in the information technology sector. There is a need for regular work-stress screening among employees using valid and reliable tools. The Tool to Assess and Classify Work Stress (TAWS-16) was developed to overcome limitations in existing stress assessment tools in India. This study aimed to test the reliability of TAWS-16 in a sample of managerial-supervisory employees. Methods: This observational reliability study included data from 62 employees. Test-retest and inter-method reliability were investigated using a TAWS-16 web application and interview by telephone, respectively. Kappa values and intra-class correlation coefficients were calculated. Internal consistency was assessed through Cronbach's alpha. Results: For both test-retest and inter-method reliability, the agreement for both work-related factors and symptoms suggestive of work stress exceeded 80%, and all kappa values were 0.40 or higher. Cronbach's alpha for test-retest and inter-method reliability was 0.983 and 0.941, respectively. Conclusions: TAWS-16 demonstrated acceptable reliability. It measured stressors, coping abilities, and psychosomatic symptoms associated with work stress. We recommend using TAWS-16 to holistically identify work stress among employees during periodical health check-ups in India.

  • MEMS structures generally have been fabricated using surface-machining method, but the interface failure between silicon substrate and evaporated thin film frequently takes place due to the residual stress inducing by the applied the various loads. And the very important physical property in the heated environment is the linear coefficient of thermal expansion. Therefore this paper studied the residual stress caused the thermal loads in the thin film and introduced the simple method to measure the trend of the residual stress by the indentation. Specimens were made of materials such as Al, Au and Cu and thermal load was applied repeatedly. The residual stress was measured by nano-indentation using AFM and FEA. The existence of the residual stress due to thermal load was verified by the experimental results. The indentation length of the thermal loaded specimens increased minimum 11.8% comparing with the virgin thin film caused by tensile residual stress. The finite element analysis results are similar to indentation test.

  • The flow stress curve is usually determined via uniaxial tensile or simple compression test. However, the flow stress curve up to high strain cannot be obtained using these two tests. This study presents a simple method for obtaining the flow stress curve up to high strain via FE analysis, a simple compression test, and an indentation test. In order to draw the flow stress curve up to high strain, the indentation test was carried out with the pre-stained specimen using the simple compression test. The flow stress curve of Al6110 was evaluated up to high strain using the proposed method, and the result was compared with the flow stress curve of the uniaxial tensile test of the initial material.

  • The Residual stress is stress at the inside of materials after plastic deformation. Certainly, this residual stress have an effect on fatigue life. Therefore, it is very important that understanding residual stress at the inside of materials. But in case of U-shaped Pipe that it is dealt with a mailer in this paper, distribution of residual stress is very complicated and exactly become unknown caused by difficulty of measurement. Then, in this paper, we are evaluated residual stress at in the inside of materials by finite clement method program and verified validity by test.

  • A mutual integral, which has the conservation property, is applied to the problem of a crack in an isotropic elastic material. The stress intensity factors $K_{I}, K_{II}, K_{III}$ and T-stress for the problem in an infinite medium are easily obtained by using the mutual integral without solving the boundary value problem. The auxiliary solutions necessary in the proposed method are taken from the known asymptotic solutions. This method is amenable to numerical evaluation of the stress intensity factors and T-stress if the crack in a finite medium is considered.

  • A recently developed numerical method based on a mixed volume and boundary integral equation method is applied to calculate the accurate stress intensity factors at the crack tips in unbounded isotropic solids in the presence of multiple anisotropic inclusions and cracks subject to external loads. Firstly, it should be noted that this newly developed numerical method does not require the Green's function for anisotropic inclusions to solve this class of problems since only Green's function for the unbounded isotropic matrix is involved in their formulation for the analysis. Secondly, this method takes full advantage of the capabilities developed in FEM and BIEM. In this paper, a detailed analysis of the stress intensity factors are carried out for an unbounded isotropic matrix containing an orthotropic cylindrical inclusion and a crack. The accuracy and effectiveness of the new method are examined through comparison with results obtained from analytical method and volume integral equation method. It is demonstrated that this new method is very accurate and effective for solving plane elastostatic problems in unbounded solids containing anisotropic inclusions and cracks.

  • The recent problems of adolescents are leading us to amphasize school mental health program. Therefore, for the first step of that program, this study was attempted to find out the students' daily life stress, their adaptation beharior to resolve that stress, and their self-concept which has an effect on that beharior, to analyze the relationship among those three variables, and to provide basic data which help maintain and promote students' adaptability and mental health. The subjects were 4 classes each grade, 743 students who were chosen as a sample subject among the total of 3,250 students of a junior girls' school in Seoul by stratified sampling method. The Oquestionnair surrey was done from April 1, 1985 to April 6, 1985. The instruments were (1) a part of Junghoon chois' perceptual Orientation Scale for measuring self-perception of students, (2) Rosenberg's Questionnair for measuring students' evaluation of self-esteem, (3) modified Bell's Adoptive Behavior Questionnair, and (4) the Measuring scale for stress developed by the investigator. The collected data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, x²-test, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearsons' Correlation. The results are summarized as follows: 1. The range of mean score of self-concept, stress, and adaptation beharior is 1-5 respectively. The mean score of self concept was 3.45. The mean score of stress was 2.53, and the degree of stress was in order of the problem of study and grade marks, girl friend, appearance, and relaxation. The subjects preferred effective long-term adaptation method (Mean=2.81) to ineffective short-term adaptation method. (Mean=2.47) 2. The self-concept had the highest degree when students were 1st grade, in good health condition, taking high grade marks, both parents existing, fathers' educational level being above college, and being in high economic status. The degree of stress was significantly high when students were 3rd grade, in poor health condition, having low grade marks, being in poor economic status, and fathers' educational level being under elimentary school. In relation with adaptation method, 1st grade students used more sbort-term and long-term method, and when students had high grade marks, being in high economic status. they used more long-term adaptation behavior. 3. Two Hypotheses of this research were tested: Hypothesis 1. "The higher the students' self-concept is, the more they use long-term adaptation method." was accepted. (r=.2482, p<.01) (t=-4.99, p<.001) Hypothesis 2. "The higher the students' stress is, the more they use short-term adaptation method." was accepted. (r=.2897, p<.01) (t= -7.51, p<.001) In conclusion, a person in charge of school health can help students to adapt effectively by planning and implementing methods which highten their self-concept and lower their stress. But because the correlation among self-concept, stress and adaptation behavior was at a low level, I think that the study, which confirm the relationship of those three variables, is needed.
