  • When fresh concrete is exposed to low temperature, the concrete may suffer frost damage due to freezing at early ages and strength development may be delayed. These are problems on cold weather concrete. One of the solution methods for resolving these problems has been to reduce the freezing temperature of concrete by the use of chemical admixtures called Accelerators for freezing resistance. Therefore, in this study, we executed freezing temperature of mortar, setting and strength properties with using water reducing accelerator and accelerators for freezing resistance which are producted internationally. As a result of this experiment, the freezing temperature of mortar is lower and the setting property is promoted when the admixing content of accelerators for freezing resistance is increased. Moreover, the compressive strength of mortar used accelerators for freezing resistance represented the result which is similar with result of analysis of compressive strength increase with using logistic curve formula, but in the case of plain and using water reducing accelerator, there is no relation between logistic curve formula, maturity and compressive strength.

  • In this study, it is contents to application on AE water reducing admixture for high early strength, which reduce to construction period for cost down in construction. In experiment result on the kinds of AE water reducing admixture for concrete strength promotion, when passed 60 minutes, while it was happened on lignin and naphthalene system about $30\∼35\%$ that loss related to slump, slump flow and air, but happened about $8\∼10\%$ on polycarboxylic system. And the result of compressive strength tests, when 32 hours passed in polycarboxylic system than lignin and naphthalene system, was showing an increase of 10$\%$. Accordingly, concrete properties was measured to condition change by the addition amount and curing temperature of polycarboxylic system. The required curing temperature to gain 5MPa of compressive strength, which is capable of side form stripping, must keep more than smallest 12. 5$^{circ}C$ when polycarboxylic system is used. As a result, AE water reducing admixture of polycarboxylic system may apply effectively to high early strength concrete

  • This study reports on the structural characteristics of slab-column connections using an ultra-high-strength-fiber-reinforced concrete from new and retrospective data. The parameters investigated were the ' puddling ' of ultra-high-strength-fiber-reinforced concrete and the use of high-strength concrete in the slab. The effects of these parameters on the punching shear capacity, negative moment cracking, and stiffness of the two-way slab specimens are investigated. Furthermore, the ACI Code (2002), the CSA Standard (1994), the BS Standard (1985) and the CEB-FIP Code (1990) predictions are compared to the experimental results obtained from some slab-column connections tested in this experiment and those tested by other investigators. The beneficial effects of the ultra-high-strength-fiber-reinforced concrete puddling and of the use of high-strength concrete are demonstrated. It is also concluded that the punching shear strength of slab-column connections is a function of the flexural reinforcement ratio.

  • In this study, compressive strength was measured to evaluate the initial strength of cement mortar substituted with coal gasification slag containing desulfurized gypsum, and the reactivity of desulfurized gypsum was confirmed. In order to improve the reactivity, 2% gypsum mixed type and gypsum unfedged type specimens were fabricated and the influence of desulfurization gypsum on compressive strength of coal gasification slag and blast furnace slag fine powder replacement cement mortar was compared and confirmed. As a result of the experiment, it was confirmed that the initial compressive strength of the specimen containing the desulfurized gypsum was improved at the initial stage.

  • In this study 72 different high strength concrete (HSC) mixes were produced according to the Taguchi design of experiment method. The specimens were divided into four groups based on the range of their compressive strengths 40-60, 60-80, 80-100 and 100-125 MPa. Each group included 18 different concrete mixes. The slump and air-content values of each mix were measured at the production time. The compressive strength, splitting tensile strength and water absorption properties were obtained at 28 days. Using this data the Genetic Programming technique was used to construct models to predict mechanical properties of HSC based on its constituients. These models, together with the cost data, were then used with a Genetic Algorithm to obtain an HSC mix that has minimum cost and at the same time meets all the strength and workability requirements. The paper describes details of the experimental results, model development, and optimization results.

  • In this study we intended to investigate properties of cement mortar with recycled PET fiber, PE fiber. and PP fiber such as slump flow, compressive strength, tensile strength, and flexural strength. At results of experiment. several properties of specimen with recycled PET fiber were little low comparing those of specimen with PE fiber and PP fiber. But if we see from point of economy and recycle of industrial wastes, it has enough reason to be used. Compressive strength of specimen with recycled PET fiber at 55 days was about 10% higher. but tensile strength and flexural strength were lower than that of no-fiber.

  • In this study, the compressive strength and ultrasonic pulse velocity were evaluated according to the elapsed time on concrete mixed with normal and lightweight aggregates at early age. For evaluation in various strength ranges, the design compressive strength was set to 30, 45, and 60MPa and evaluated. As a result of the experiment, the compressive strength of concrete mixed with lightweight aggregates developed 5MPa earlier compared to normal aggregate concrete, and the UPV showed a similar tendency.

  • In this study, high temperature tensile properties of high strength steels(POSTEN60, POSTEN80) were investigated. The three-dimensional thermal elastic-plastic analyses were conducted to investigate the characteristics of welding residual stresses in welds of high strength steels on the basis of thermal and mechanical properites at high temperature obtained from the experiment. According to the results, high temperature tensile strength of POSTEN60 steel deteriorated slowly to 10$0^{\circ}C$. As the temperature went up, the tensile strength became better because of blue shortness, and it deteriorated radically after reaching to the maximum value around 30$0^{\circ}C$. For the POSTEN80 steel, high temperature tensile strength deteriorated slowly to 20$0^{\circ}C$. As the temperature went up the tensile strength became better and it deteriorated slowly to $600^{\circ}C$ after reached to the maximum value around 30$0^{\circ}C$. Strain of high strength steels at the elevated temperature increased radically after the mercury rose to $600^{\circ}C$. The strain hardening ratio of POSTEN60 steel was larger then that of POSTEN80 steel at the elevated temperature as in the case at the room temperature and it became smaller radically after the mercury rose to 40$0^{\circ}C$. And, in the welding of high strength steels, increasing tensile strength of the steel (POSTEN60
