3D Motion Capture based Physical Fitness using Full Body Tracking Suit

  • This paper presents an approach to exercise that utilizes motion capture through the Rokoko Smart Suit. With the emergence of Covid-19, physical fitness levels have declined due to restrictions on in-person fitness classes and gym closures. To maintain physical activity, many individuals have turned to mobile applications and streaming videos. However, home workouts often lack the motivation and experience found in gyms, classes, or community centers, particularly with the presence of coaches and instructors. Additionally, instructors find it challenging to convey precise postures to their online students, and vice versa. To address this issue, the researchers propose the use of a full-body tracking suit like the Rokoko Smart Suit, which enables instructors to present a more realistic approach to physical activity. The Rokoko Smart Suit offers a 3D view of the instructor, eliminating the limitations of camera scope when streaming on platforms like Zoom or MS Teams. This technology enhances the at-home workout experience, and the incorporation of 3D virtual reality features can further elevate the realism of a workout.

Mobile Web Service Architecture Using Context-store

  • Web Services allow a user to integrate applications from different platforms and languages. Since mobile applications often run on heterogeneous platforms and conditions, Web Service becomes a popular solution for integrating with server applications. However, because of its verbosity, XML based SOAP messaging gives the possible overhead to the less powerful mobile devices. Based on the mobile client's behavior that it usually exchanges messages with Web Service continuously in a session, we design the Handheld Flexible Representation architecture. Our proposed architecture consists of three main components: optimizing message representation by using a data format language (Simple_DFDL), streaming communication channel to reduce latency and the Context-store to store context information of a session as well as redundant parts of the messages. In this paper, we focus on the Context-store and describe the architecture with the Context-store for improving the performance of mobile Web Service messaging. We verify our approach by conducting various evaluations and investigate the performance and scalability of the proposed architecture. The empirical results show that we save 40% of transit time between a client and a service by reducing the message size. In contrast to solutions for a single problem such as the compression or binarization, our architecture addresses the problem at a system level. Thus, by using the Context-store, we expect reliable recovery from the fault condition and enhancing interoperability as well as improving the messaging performance.

Less than Attractiveness of e-Sports Games for Female Audience - Journalism

  • The attractiveness of e-sports games1 and the way it is spread has changed in recent years. Instead of conventional approaches, such as advertising campaigns or televised events, spectators are increasingly drawn to online platforms, which offer more opportunities for communication. Besides live streaming services like Twitch. tv, where spectators can watch matches in real-time or via recorded videos, social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter are now adding e-sports related content to their networks [1]. Especially the combination of live streams on Twitch, Twitter, and Facebook opens many possibilities regarding how information is shared. This might be an efficient way of spreading attractiveness among female audiences. This paper focuses on the attractiveness of e-sports events in general for females. It has been hypothesized that there are certain factors that influence this attractiveness. Studying past research papers and online resources, three factors were identified: The players' behavior and charisma, the impact of social media as well as videogames themselves. It is found that females are attracted to e-sport games because they allow them to engage more in the game compared to other videogames. This is because there are no time constraints that require players to accomplish certain tasks within a specific time frame. As such, female gamers can choose how much effort they want to put into the game depending on their personal preferences.

Qualitative Study: The Development of Music Business Distribution Channels to Attract Potential Customers

  • Purpose: This research explores the development of music business distribution channels to attract potential customers based on the current and prior literature. As a result, the research will provide solutions for practitioners in the music distribution channel how they create effective channel in new industry phase which has experienced significant changes due to technological advancement and consumer behavior. Research design, data, and methodology: To obtain textual data in the literature storage, the author conducted content analysis. Even though there are numerous textual resources, selecting only high-quality text data that is only peer-reviewed journal articles and books consistently indicate a high degree of reliability and validity to keep the advantage form content analysis approach. Results: The present study figured out that there are five strategies to attract potential consumers in the music distribution channel, such as (1) 'Marketing Mix', (2) 'Streaming Platforms and Online Music Stores', (3) 'Brick and Mortar Stores and Concerts, and Events', (4) 'Platforms Exclusives and Limited-Edition Merchandise', and 'Partnerships and collaborations. Conclusions: In sum, the practitioners need to consider include building relationships with the fans, studying and understanding their target market, utilizing multiple available distribution channels, embracing new technologies, and analyzing the effectiveness of the adopted distribution channels.

Online Music Distribution Strategy to Develop the future Hallyu Music Industry

  • Purpose: The main aim of this study is to analyze and suggest new online music distribution models targeted to facilitate the development of the Korean Wave (Hallyu) music market in all locations of the world. This study is conducted through a close analysis of the prevailing distribution models, the unique challenges of the K-pop market, and the trends in new technologies. Research design, data and methodology: To address the issue of how the online music distribution market could be domesticated for the Korean music industry, a systematic review of the previous studies was conducted. The use of the PRISMA approach was followed so that an accurate and transparent method for choosing the studies is ensured. Results: According to the investigation of literature analysis, the online distribution strategy may consist of four key plannings as follows, 1. Leveraging Social Media and User-Generated Content Platforms, 2. Embracing Immersive and Interactive Experiences, 3. Fostering Direct-to-Fan Connections and Monetization, 4. Harnessing Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Analytics. Conclusions: Finally, collaboration and strategic partnerships will be vital. The Korean music companies should seek to cooperate with the technology companies, social media platforms, and the global music streaming services so that they can grow their market, acquire new technologies, and to better their online distribution strategies.

WebRTC 환경에 데이터 스트리밍 및 사용자 요청에 따른 동적로드 밸런싱 방법 (A Dynamical Load Balancing Method for Data Streaming and User Request in WebRTC Environment)

  • WebRTC는 웹과 모바일과 같이 여러 플랫폼에서 세계 최고 수준의 실시간 커뮤니케이션으로 빠르게 성장했다. WebRTC의 현재 기술은 peer와 시그널링 서버에서 사용자가 요청한 많은 양의 큰 스트리밍을 효율적으로 처리하지 못한다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 동적로드 밸런싱 알고리즘을 사용하여, 데이터 흐름 전달을 제공함으로써 문제를 처리하는 작업을 수행한다. 또한, 사용자가 요청하는 소스를 분석하고 이러한 스트리밍 요청을 로드 밸런싱 구성 요소에 전달한다. 구체적으로 구성 요소는 요청된 리소스와 사용가능한 리소스의 양을 응답 서버에서 결정한 후 스트리밍 데이터를 요청하는 사용자에게 병렬 또는 교대로 전달한다. 이와 같은 방법을 검증하기 위해 네트워크 시뮬레이션 도구 OPNET을 사용하여 로드 밸런싱 알고리즘을 시연 후 우분투 서버에 적용하여 구현한다. 또한 실험을 통해 도출된 결과와 WebRTC의 구현을 비교하여 제안함으로써 기존 방법보다 효율적이고 동적으로 수행되는 지를 보여준다.

  • In wireless and handheld platforms area, performance, power and cost are key metrics for product success. This is driving increasing levels of on-chip integration in state-of-the-art application processors. The purpose of this project is to optimize and design the energy-efficient embedded system that properly displays video and audio in real time. The requirements are for the media player to be capable of decoding real-time streaming video and audio with the least possible energy consumption for a variety of different clips at different resolutions. We implemented this Linux based multimedia player on Intel's PXA27x platform.

  • Personal Robot System being developed is designed to module-based system architecture for supporting internal devices have variable system platforms, environments, networks. For supporting development environment, integrating remote services, managing the interoperation among internal modules on this system design, a well-designed object oriented middleware is needed significantly. There are already some middlwares like DCOM, CORBA, UPnP, JINI, OSGi, etc. But they have some limitations to applying to Personal Robot in variable side view. We are researching for a suitable design scheme to require low system resources, to guarantee realtime services as possible, and to implement easily. In this paper, we suggest a middleware architecture have goals that are simple, light, and object oriented, so that can be used at diversity devices in Personal Robot System.

  • Animated images formats such as WebP are highly portable graphics formats that are being used everywhere on the Internet. Despite their small sizes and duration, WebP image previews the video without watching the entire content with minimum bandwidth. This paper proposed a novel method to generate personalized WebP images in the client side using its computation resources. The proposed system automatically extracts the WebP image from climax point using music analysis. Based on user interest, the system predicts the genre using Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). The proposed method can easily integrate with streaming platforms such as YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, and others.

줌(Zoom)연극의 특성에 따른 배우의 연기 접근 방법 연구 - 프로젝트, 홍도(2020)의 제작 과정을 중심으로 (A Study on Acting Approaches based on Characteristics of Zoom Theater - Focused on the Production Process of Project, Hong-Do 2020)

  • 코로나19의 출현 이후 국내외 공연계는 온라인 플랫폼을 활용해 다양한 예술적 실험을 시도하고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 연극 공연을 위한 창작 도구로 활용된 줌(Zoom)의 기능적 특성에 주목하였다. 우선 줌을 활용한 국내외 연극 공연 사례와 그 특징들을 살펴본 후, 줌 연극 <프로젝트, 홍도 Project, Hong-Do>의 제작 단계를 리서치 중심의 프리-프로덕션(Pre-production)단계, 대본을 바탕으로 각 장면을 구성하는 장면 워크숍(Scene Workshop)단계, 장면별 실시간 녹화를 진행하는 레코딩(Recording) 단계와 공연을 상영하기 위한 스트리밍(Streaming) 단계로 구분하여 살펴봄으로써 줌을 통해 창작한 연극의 특성을 고찰할수 있었다. 또한 이러한 제작 과정에서 나타난 배우의 연기 접근 방법을 시선의 분리, 공간의 재인식, 표현적 제스처의 활용, 능동적 행동으로서의 리액션(Reaction)으로 상정하여 살펴보았다. 그 결과 줌을 활용한 연극 작업의 지속적인 발전 가능성과 이에 따른 배우의 연기 접근 방법을 제안할 수 있었다.
