  • Personalized media broadcasting services can produce their own broadcasting contents with a variety of creative themes if they have just a transmission platform and devices that can obtain videos and voices of producers without the existing expensive equipment. In this paper, we develop and implement a new broadcasting system by applying this service framework to events such as seminars or academic conferences. The devices can be installed at each conference rooms and the integrated system transmitted to users. They can watch via their multi-resolution screen, such as smart-phones, laptops, and tablet PCs. It has the advantage of being able to receive real-time streaming and VOD services as well as additional information related to the conference. It is expected to provide convenience by allowing attendees to access the information via their devices, thereby creating an impact on participation and the underlying technology for the future research.

  • With the fast development of information and communication technologies, video streaming services and applications are increasing rapidly. However, the network condition is volatile. In order to provide users with better quality of service, it is necessary to develop an accurate and low-complexity model for Quality of Experience (QoE) prediction of time-varying video. Memory effects refer to the psychological influence factor of historical experience, which can be taken into account to improve the accuracy of QoE evaluation. In this paper, we design subjective experiments to explore the impact of Short-Term Memory (STM) on QoE. The experimental results show that the user's real-time QoE is influenced by the duration of previous viewing experience and the expectations generated by STM. Furthermore, we propose analytical models to determine the relationship between intrinsic video quality, expectation and real-time QoE. The proposed models have better performance for real-time QoE prediction when the video is transmitted in a fluctuate network. The models are capable of providing more accurate guidance for improving the quality of video streaming services.

  • Packet losses in the Internet can dramatically degrade quality of multimedia streams. Forward Error Correction (FEC) is one of the best methods that can protect data from packet erasures by means of sending additional redundant information. Proposed control algorithm provides the possibility of receiving real-time multimedia streams of given quality wifth minimal traffic overhead. The traffic optimization is reached by adjusting packet size as well as block code parameters. Calculations and simulation results show that for non-bursty network conditions traffic optimization can lead to more than 50% bandwidth reduction.

  • Recently, many consumer electronics manufacturers have produced 3D devices such as 3DTVs and 3D monitors as interests in a stereoscopic video service are getting increased. However, most of 3D services are focused on local storage or bandwidth guaranteed service since 3D stereoscopic video service require bandwidth more stable and larger. This property causes difficulties in seamless stereoscopic video streaming services under IP based open network environment that cannot guarantee quality of services. In order to achieve a seamless video streaming service the international standard organization MPEG (Moving Pictures Experts Group) has developed the adaptive HTTP streaming technology called as DASH (Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP). However, the DASH doesn't have obvious scheme which can express the two elementary video streams based service-compatible stereoscopic contents in one segment. Therefore, this paper proposes a scheme of efficient 3D adaptive streaming service based on the DASH, which covers not only frame-packing stereoscopic contents but also service-compatible ones. The 3D adaptive HTTP streaming scheme introduced in this paper is able to provide 3D contents with various qualities to user and also has benefit that single 3D content can be applied to a variety of devices.

  • An instable wireless channel condition causes more packet losses and retransmissions due to interference, fading, station mobility, and so on. Therefore video streaming service over a wireless networks is a challenging task because of the changes in the wireless channel conditions and time-constraints characteristics of the video streaming services. To provide efficient video streaming over a wireless networks, QoS-enhanced MAC protocol, IEEE 802.11e, is standardized recently. Tn this paper, we propose a new network-adaptive H.264 video streaming mechanism in the IEEE 802.11e wireless networks. To improve the quality of video streaming services, video stream has to adapt to the changes in the wireless channel conditions. The wireless channel conditions are estimated by the packet loss probability and informed to the application layer by the cross-layering. According to the wireless channel information, the video streaming application filters out the low-priority data. This adaptation mechanism efficiently uses system resources because it drops the low-priority data in advance. Therefore, our cross-layer design can provide improved video streaming services to the end-user. Through the implementation and performance evaluation, we prove that the proposed mechanism improves the QoS of the video streaming by providing the smoothed playback.

  • The existing QoS mechanisms for video streaming are short of the consideration for various user environments and the characteristic of streaming applying programs. In order to overwhelm this problem, studies on the video streaming protocols exploiting scalable video coding (SVC), which provide spatial, temporal, and qualitative scalability in video coding, are progressing actively. However, these protocols also have the problem to deepen network congestion situation, and to lower fairness between other traffics, as they are not equipped with congestion control mechanisms. SVC based streaming protocols also have the problem to overlook the property of videos encoded in SVC, as the protocols transmit the streaming simply by extracting the bitstream which has the maximum bit rate within available bandwidth of a network. To solve these problems, this study suggests TCP-friendly network adaptive SVC streaming(T-NASS) protocol which considers both network status and SVC bitstream property. T-NASS protocol extracts the optimal SVC bitstream by calculating TCP-friendly transmission rate, and by perceiving the network status on the basis of packet loss rate and explicit congestion notification(ECN). Through the performance estimation using an ns-2 network simulator, this study identified T-NASS protocol extracts the optimal bitstream as it uses TCP-friendly transmission property and perceives the network status, and also identified the video image quality transmitted through T-NASS protocol is improved.

  • With the development of new media, great changes are taking place in the way people get information. The change is the use of video content that can deliver content in a more three-dimensional way than words or photos. After 2016, the number of live video streaming content providers and users has increased. In this paper the write takes the 1 personal live video streaming content as the research object. And the write takes live video streaming content on YouTube live or Douyu TV as a research example. In this paper, the writer analyzes the digital information content in the live video streaming case. And the writer expounds the necessity of these visual information and the characteristics of real-time live video streaming content. Especially since 2020, because of the influence of the COVID-19, the live video streaming industry has begun to combine with the traditional industry. It is expected that the integration of digital cutting-edge technology and live video streaming will not only provide diversity in the content, but also create more social value for the video content consumption culture. Therefore, The writer thinks it is necessary to conduct in-depth research on the social responsibility of real-time live content in the future.
