충주지역의 기계류 산업동향 통계분석 (Statistical Analysis of Mechanical Parts Industry in Chungju Region)

  • The strategic industry in Chungbuk province is the electric and electronic related industry. In the Chnugju region, the trend of major industry have change from the electric and electronic related industry to mechanical parts and components related industry include manufacturing of automobile and transportation. In this paper, we perform statistical analysis using the micro data service provided by the Statistics Korea, The CAGR of the number of employee and value-added value in the electric and electronic related industry during past 7 years are -7.1% and -13.2%, respectively while the CAGR in the mechanical parts related industry are 14.4% and 22.9%, respectively. However, value-added value per value of shipment of the mechanical related industry is lower than that of the electric and electronic related industry.

  • This study was intended to point out the limit of existing digital content-centered studies, or approaches from the viewpoint of the supplier and in the aspect of business profit model and find ways to assess the quality of digital content, considering the characteristics of digital content. For this, the study is to apply value innovation strategy to digital content assessment, to analyze the applicability, and to propose a new and practical framework for digital content assessment method. To this end, this study selected the global No. 1 search service provider Google and local portal site Naver search service. The study on assessment factors by value innovation strategy was based on existing literature, while user-value elements in that respect were confined to information quality, interactivity, communication, interactive storytelling, and usability. This study objectified the relation with the value innovation strategic analysis, through qualitative and quantitative analyses on value elements of search service users.

  • This study is focusing on the fact that Medical bodies are a labor-intensive organization in the technological field which needs technical knowledge and concerted efforts and then explaining the job value and the workplace value on the basis of trust in terms of a sense of organizational unity. The study reveals that, the higher recognition of their seniors the medical workers have, the higher level of self-esteem for job value they have. In terms of personal characteristics, educational experience has a meaningful influence on self-esteem for job value; in terms of job characteristics, the period of one`s service and monthly salary have a meaningful influence on it. And, it is found, the higher the pride on workplace, respect and trust in seniors, loyalty to seniors and self-esteem for job value are, the more proud they feel of workplace.

Uncovering the Relationship between ESG Practices and Firm Value: The Role of Reputation and Industry Sensitivity

  • Considering the rising interest in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) globally, various studies have shown that ESG practice increases firm value; however, there is still much debate. This study focuses on the relationship between ESG practice and firm value. Further, we identify the mechanisms constituting this relationship to address relevant research gaps. Specifically, this study examines the connection between ESG practice and corporate valuation, emphasizing the mediating role of a company's reputation. Using panel analysis of data from 145 Korean firms (2014-2021), the study reveals that ESG practices notably enhance firm value, signaling their significance to stakeholders. Corporate reputation acts as a bridge between ESG efforts and value, with corporate reputation's influence varying across industries. This research presents broad implications for both academic and industrial fields, highlighting the strategic importance of ESG in enhancing firm value.

South Korea's Strategic Directions in the Context of the US-China Trade War: An Application of the ABCD Model

  • Purpose: South Korea is a close ally of the US and an important partner of China. Caught between the two most powerful countries, South Korea's strategic directions are critical. This article emphasizes that the deeper core of the US-China trade war is to improve the business environment to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) to boost the economy, rather than engaging in the trade war. Research design, data, and methodology: Considering the complexity of this issue, this article applies a systematic analytical tool, the ABCD (Agility, Benchmarking, Convergence, and Dedication) model, to provide strategic guidance for inducing investments into South Korea in the context of the ongoing US-China trade war. Results: Specifically, South Korea needs to provide a more attractive business environment along the four points: expedite commercial activities through deregulation (Agility); adopt global standards of the flexible labor markets and technological developments (Benchmarking); integrate various industries and connect them to global value chains (Convergence); and create more economy-friendly policies rather than politics-oriented ones such as protectionism (Dedication). Conclusion: This study stands out not just by utilizing the ABCD model but, also by providing more systematic analysis and practical implications, particularly within the context of the escalating US-China competition. Unlike many existing studies that analyze the broader impacts of this geopolitical rivalry, this research delves into specific strategic guidelines for South Korea to attract FDI. The findings also provide implications for multinational corporations (MNCs) in choosing the locations for their overseas operations, particularly in South Korea.

문화정보화 부문의 통합전산환경 구축.운영의 기대 성과분석 (An Analysis on the Expected Performance of Constructing and Operating the Integrated Computing Environment in case of Culture Informatization)

  • 본 연구에서는 문화관광부의 소속기관 및 산하단체의 정보시스템 운영환경을 통합한 문화정보 통합센터의 구축 운영을 가정한 사례를 중심으로 기대성과를 분석하는 방법론을 제시하였다. 본 연구의 주요 목표로는 첫째, 문화정보 통합전산환경 구축 운영에 따른 성과를 사업적 기대가치와 전략적 기대가치로 구분하여 성과항목을 도출하도록 하였으며, 둘째, 사업적 기대가치의 경우에는 균형성과표(BSC) 관점에서 핵심성공요인(CSF) 기법을 이용하여 정보화업무 효율화성과, 조직혁신 및 발전성과, 대민서비스 향상성과, 문화적 가치제고 성과 등 4가지 관점으로 범주화하여 세부 성과항목을 도출하는 방법을 제시하였다. 셋째, 사업적 기대가치중 정보화업무 효율화 성과의 경우에는 TCO(Total Cost of Ownership) 관점에서 경제적 성과 측정을 위한 세부 평가항목 및 평가지표를 개발하고 문화정보화 부문의 사례를 중심으로 구체적인 측정방법을 제시하였다.

세계 주요 컨테이너 해운기업의 전략적 제휴의 현황과 그 생성원인에 관한 연구 (An Analysis on Situation and Causes of Strategic Alliance Major Container Liner Company in the World)

  • From the beginning of 1990s , also in the shipping industry, especially liner shipping industry competition has been more intensive and difference of the service quality among shipping companies has been learned . On the other hand, a shipping company has some limitations to do its international mission for itself just by broadening service area. For this reason, the necessity for the global strategi alliance among the shipping companies, which is orginally aimed at sharing of facilities and organixation, has been developed. Through strategic alliance, liner shipping companies do not need to input the additional capitals to increase the material assets such as vessel capacity and spread the risk by the enlargement of the market. Also, they can secure the competitive edge through efficient utilizaton of assets. The purpose of strategic alliance of Hanjin Shipping Ltd., can be summarized as follows ; broadening of service area, cost reduction through vessel sharing, realization of rationalized shipping service by terminal and equipment or facilities sharing. Liner strategic alliances are agreement among liner companies to pol their equipment , andterminals for joint operations and services in which each alliance partner continues to serve its market using jointly operated or used inland feeders,inland terminals, port terminals, and mainline fleets of ship as well as joint pools of containers and equipment. Strategic alliances are generally more formal agreements than consortia and impose longer term and far reaching obligation on their members. It also acts as one in developing and advancing the strategic aims of the alliance members. The most important objective for liner strategic alliances is cost reduction and improvement in capital asset utilization. Main aims of strategic alliance drawn in this paper, can be enumerated follows : 1. improvements in service frequency and quality : 2. improvements in vessel and equipment utilization and thereby reductions in fixed and variable cost ; 3. improvements in market shares and high value cargo booking ; 4. reductions in intermodal storage and port terminal throughput costs ; 5. improvements in negotiating powers with ports and feeder transport providers ; 6. reduction in financial and other fixed costs such as insurance; 7. coordination and integration of MIS and EDI systems and service for greater efficiency and market penetration ; and, 8. improvements in logistic chain management and economic of scale by equipment depot, terminal, and vessel sharing.

  • This study explores to identify the characteristics of the business model by comparing and analyzing the value creation between two cases, and to be successful in business model innovation. In order for the pursuit of purposes, domestic and international firm' business model cases are analyzed. Regarding the business model innovation, huge differences are found between two cases. First, a clear customer value proposal is important. Netflix is constantly monitoring the customer's needs and satisfactions to improve value proposition, while Joycube, domestic firm does not adjust to meet the change of the customer's behaviors. Second, the business model innovation should be taking into account the customer's behaviors in the constant changing market environments. For the growth, firms should consider strategic monitoring the market environments, and find a novelty of the markets, and to create the jump through business model innovation.

프라이버시 보호 상황인식 시스템 개발을 위한 쌍방향 P3P 방법론 (A Mutual P3P Methodology for Privacy Preserving Context-Aware Systems Development)

  • One of the big concerns in e-society is privacy issue. In special, in developing robust ubiquitous smart space and corresponding services, user profile and preference are collected by the service providers. Privacy issue would be more critical in context-aware services simply because most of the context data themselves are private information: user's current location, current schedule, friends nearby and even her/his health data. To realize the potential of ubiquitous smart space, the systems embedded in the space should corporate personal privacy preferences. When the users invoke a set of services, they are asked to allow the service providers or smart space to make use of personal information which is related to privacy concerns. For this reason, the users unhappily provide the personal information or even deny to get served. On the other side, service provider needs personal information as rich as possible with minimal personal information to discern royal and trustworthy customers and those who are not. It would be desirable to enlarge the allowable personal information complying with the service provider's request, whereas minimizing service provider's requiring personal information which is not allowed to be submitted and user's submitting information which is of no value to the service provider. In special, if any personal information required by the service provider is not allowed, service will not be provided to the user. P3P (Platform for Privacy Preferences) has been regarded as one of the promising alternatives to preserve the personal information in the course of electronic transactions. However, P3P mainly focuses on preserving the buyers' personal information. From time to time, the service provider's business data should be protected from the unintended usage from the buyers. Moreover, even though the user's privacy preference could depend on the context happened to the user, legacy P3P does not handle the contextual change of privacy preferences. Hence, the purpose of this paper is to propose a mutual P3P-based negotiation mechanism. To do so, service provider's privacy concern is considered as well as the users'. User's privacy policy on the service provider's information also should be informed to the service providers before the service begins. Second, privacy policy is contextually designed according to the user's current context because the nomadic user's privacy concern structure may be altered contextually. Hence, the methodology includes mutual privacy policy and personalization. Overall framework of the mechanism and new code of ethics is described in section 2. Pervasive platform for mutual P3P considers user type and context field, which involves current activity, location, social context, objects nearby and physical environments. Our mutual P3P includes the privacy preference not only for the buyers but also the sellers, that is, service providers. Negotiation methodology for mutual P3P is proposed in section 3. Based on the fact that privacy concern occurs when there are needs for information access and at the same time those for information hiding. Our mechanism was implemented based on an actual shopping mall to increase the feasibility of the idea proposed in this paper. A shopping service is assumed as a context-aware service, and data groups for the service are enumerated. The privacy policy for each data group is represented as APPEL format. To examine the performance of the example service, in section 4, simulation approach is adopted in this paper. For the simulation, five data elements are considered: $\cdot$ UserID $\cdot$ User preference $\cdot$ Phone number $\cdot$ Home address $\cdot$ Product information $\cdot$ Service profile. For the negotiation, reputation is selected as a strategic value. Then the following cases are compared: $\cdot$ Legacy P3P is considered $\cdot$ Mutual P3P is considered without strategic value $\cdot$ Mutual P3P is considered with strategic value. The simulation results show that mutual P3P outperforms legacy P3P. Moreover, we could conclude that when mutual P3P is considered with strategic value, performance was better than that of mutual P3P is considered without strategic value in terms of service safety.

기술자원의 전략적 자원속성과 경쟁우위간의 관계에 관한 연구: 기술중소기업의 기술평가자료를 이용한 VRIO Framework의 실증분석 (A Study on Relation between Strategic Attributes of Technological Resources and Competitive Advantage: Empirical Analysis of VRIO Framework by Using Technology Evaluation Results of Technology Based SMEs)

  • 본 연구는 자원기반관점에 있어 경쟁우위의 원천이 산업의 구조적 특성에 있는 것이 아니라 기업이 보유한 자원의 전략적 성격에 따른다는 점에 착안하고 있다. 따라서 자원기반관점에서는 특정한 자원을 보유, 개발, 유지하고자 하는 의사결정이 전략의 중심에 자리 잡게 되며, 어떠한 자원이 전략적 자원인가를 선별해내는 것이 기업의 전략경영체계에서 가장 핵심적이며, 그 출발점이 되는 작업이라고 볼 수 있다. 이러한 점에서 전략적 자원의 속성을 정의하고 이를 판별하려는 시도는 자원기반관점에서 중요하게 다루어진 이슈 중의 하나로, 특히 Barney가 제시한 VRIO Framework는 전략적 자원을 판별하기 위한 도구로 실무적으로 널리 이용되어 왔다. 그러나 VRIO Framework는 이를 구성하고 있는 핵심요소(가치, 희소성, 모방난이도, 조직)의 개념이 지나치게 포괄적으로 설명되고 있으며, 계량화가 어려운 문제점 때문에 Framework의 유효성 검증과 관련한 실증연구가 충분히 이루어 지지 않았다. 본 연구에서는 2,252개 국내 기술중소기업을 대상으로 실제 기술평가사례 및 재무자료를 이용해 기술자원의 전략적 자원속성과 경쟁우위의 관계를 바탕으로 VRIO Framework의 유효성을 구조방정식에 의한 모델분석을 통해 실증적으로 검증해 보았다. 그 결과 VRIO Framework에서 제시한 전략적 자원속성(가치, 희소성, 모방난이도)은 경쟁우위에 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치며, 조직역량은 경쟁우위에 다시 통계적으로 유의한 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 매개적 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다.
