Storm Storm event is one of major issues in South Korea due to devastating damage at its landfall. A series of statistical study on the historical typhoon records consistently insist that the typhoon translation speed (TS) is on slowdown trend annually, and thus provides an urgent topic in assessing the extreme storm surge under future climate change. Even though TS has been regarded as a principal contributor in storm surge dynamics, only a few studies have considered its impact on the storm surge. The landfall angle (LA), another key physical factor of storm surge also needs to be further investigated along with TS. This study aims to elucidate the interaction mechanism among TS, LA, coastal geometry, and storm surge synthetically by performing a series of simulations on the idealized geometries using Delft3D FM. In the simulation, various typhoons are set up according to different combinations of TS and LA, while their trajectories are assumed to be straight with the constant wind speed and the central pressure. Then, typhoons are subjected to make landfall over a set of idealized geometries that have different depth profiles and layouts (i.e., open coasts or bays). The simulation results show that: (i) For the open coasts, the maximum surge height (MSH) increases with increasing TS. (ii) For the constant bed level, a typhoon normal to the coastline resulted in peak MSH due to the lowest effect of the coastal wave. (iii) For the continental shelf with different widths, the slow-moving typhoon will generate the peak MSH around a small LA as the shelf width becomes narrow. (iv) For the bay, MSH enlarges with the ratio of L/E (the length of main-bay axis /gate size) dropping, while the greatest MSH is at L/E=1. These findings suggest that a fast-moving typhoon perpendicular to the coastline over a broad continental shelf will likely generate the extreme storm surge hazard in the future, as well as the slow-moving typhoon will make an acute landfall over a narrow continental shelf.

Cowpea(Vigna unguiculata L. Walp) has a low fat and protein content and a relatively high starch content, so it is mainly used in various ways for song-pyeon sediment, rice-cake paste, and porridge. In Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do, cowpea for seed production is being cultivated for the localization of raw material for Rice cake with ramie leave. A cowpea variety 'Jang-Alchan' was improved from the cross between IT145373 and IT145391 at the JARES in 2019. 'Jang-alchan' has an erect plant with an intermediate plant habit, light purple-colored corolla, and heart-shaped leaflets. 'Jang-alchan' has an orange-yellow seed seed-surface of faint luster, and brown and straight pods when matured. The stem length of 'Jang-alchan' was 48cm, 9cm longer than that of the control cultivar 'Okdang' and the 100-seed weight was 14.1g. The weight ratio of the seed coat for the entire seed was 11.2%, which was 0.2%p lower than that of the control cultivar. Field resistance of 'Jang-alchan' to leaf and systemic diseases was similar to that of the control cultivar. Is field resistance of 'Jang-alchan' to lodging was slightly lower than that of the control cultivar. The average yield of 'Jang-alchan' was 1.85ton per hectare, which was 14% higher than that of the control cultivar 'Okdang', 'Jang-Alchan' does not require the installation of an espalier-net and is taller than the existing supplied 'Okdang', so it can be harvested by combine harvesting. In addition, it is expected to contribute to the localization of raw material grains for regional specialties as it can be cultivated over a large area.
As major public owner agencies in Korea have improved the application level of BIM, many design and construction companies are paying more attention to ways to improve actual work productivity in the BIM execution process. In this study, we introduce a method to automate the placement of BIM libraries, a recurring task in the BIM-based design process that serves as a prime example of BIM design automation methodologies. In particular, we classify the target surfaces for placement of BIM libraries into straight lines, curves, vertical planes, and surfaces. For each target surface, we implement a BIM library automatic placement model in Dynamo, considering the spacing and alignment according to the distance between the centers of two objects and the linear length. The results of case studies confirm that the proposed method can be employed according to various placement environments and conditions with the working time shortened. The study proposes that various objects and structures that need to be placed according to the terrain characteristics can be placed accurately, and work productivity can be significantly improved through the automation of placement.
This paper has focused on presenting vibration analysis of trapezoidal sandwich plates with a damaged core and FG wavy CNT-reinforced face sheets. A damage model is introduced to provide an analytical description of an irreversible rheological process that causes the decay of the mechanical properties, in terms of engineering constants. An isotropic damage is considered for the core of the sandwich structure. The classical theory concerning the mechanical efficiency of a matrix embedding finite length fibers has been modified by introducing the tube-to-tube random contact, which explicitly accounts for the progressive reduction of the tubes' effective aspect ratio as the filler content increases. The First-order shear deformation theory of plate is utilized to establish governing partial differential equations and boundary conditions for the trapezoidal plate. The governing equations together with related boundary conditions are discretized using a mapping-generalized differential quadrature (GDQ) method in spatial domain. Then natural frequencies of the trapezoidal sandwich plates are obtained using GDQ method. Validity of the current study is evaluated by comparing its numerical results with those available in the literature. After demonstrating the convergence and accuracy of the method, different parametric studies for laminated trapezoidal structure including carbon nanotubes waviness (0≤w≤1), CNT aspect ratio (0≤AR≤4000), face sheet to core thickness ratio (0.1 ≤ ${\frac{h_f}{h_c}}$ ≤ 0.5), trapezoidal side angles (30° ≤ α, β ≤ 90°) and damaged parameter (0 ≤ D < 1) are carried out. It is explicated that the damaged core and weight fraction, carbon nanotubes (CNTs) waviness and CNT aspect ratio can significantly affect the vibrational behavior of the sandwich structure. Results show that by increasing the values of waviness index (w), normalized natural frequency of the structure decreases, and the straight CNT (w=0) gives the highest frequency. For an overall comprehension on vibration of laminated trapezoidal plates, some selected vibration mode shapes were graphically represented in this study.

Members used for the Korean traditional joints have been processed by handicraft, especially with domestic red pine species. Dovetail joint is most commonly used in woodworking joinery and traditional horizontal and vertical connections. It is able to be processed much easier to cut by handicraft and machines. However, although it is processed straight forwards, it requires a high degree of accuracy to ensure a snug fit. Also, tenons and mortises must fit together with no gap between them so that the joint interlocks tightly. A few scientific studies on the dovetail joints have been conducted so far. For the effective applications of traditional joints and domestic plantation wood species, dovetail joints were assembled by larch glulam members processed by machine pre-cut. To identify the tensile properties of through dovetail joints, larch glulam with 150 150mm in cross section were prepared. Furthermore, various geometric parameters of dovetai joints such as width, length, and tenon angle, were surveyed. The ends in the mortise was cracked mainly at a low strength level in the control specimens without reinforcements. Jurassic granite from Geochang was analysed with respect to the characteristics of the rock cleavage. The multicriteria evaluation for the six directions of rock cleavages was performed using the microcrack spacing-related parameters derived from the enlarged photomicrographs (${\times}6.7$) of the thin section and the spacing-cumulative frequency diagrams. The results of analysis for the representative values of these spacing parameters with respect to the rock cleavage are summarized as follows. First, the analysis for deriving the main parameter indicating the order of arrangement among six diagrams was performed. The values of five parameters with respect to six directions of the rock cleavages were arranged in increasing or decreasing order for the above analysis. The decreasing order of the values of main parameter(mean spacing-median spacing, $S_{mean}-S_{median}$) and mean spacing are consistent with the order of H1, H2, G1, G2, R1 and R2 directions. These sequential arrangements of six directions of the rock cleavages can provide a basis for those of the six diagrams related to spacing. Second, the nine correlation charts between the above main parameter and various parameters were arranged in decreasing order of correlation coefficient ($R^2$). These related charts shows a high correlation of power-law function in common. The values of mean spacing, density (${\rho}$) and length of line oa are directly proportional to the value of main parameter, while the values of constant (a), exponent (${\lambda}$), spacing frequency (N), length of line oa', slope of exponential straight line (${\theta}$) and total length ($1mm{\geq}$) are inverse proportional. Third, the results of correlation analysis between the values of parameters for three planes and those for three rock cleavages are as follows. The values of frequency, total spacing, constant, exponent, slope and length of line oa' for three planes and three rock cleavages show an order of R' < G' < H' and H < G < R, respectively. On the other hand, the values of mean spacing, (mean spacing-median spacing), density and length of line oa show an order of H' < G' < R' and R < G < H, respectively. The correlation of the mutually reverse order of the values of parameters between three planes and three rock cleavages can be drawn. This type of correlation analysis is useful for discriminating three quarrying planes.
River is able to change by various environmental factors. In order to conduct river restoration design, it is necessary to evaluate the stable channel through the analysis of past and present river channels. River evaluation requires various data, such as geometry, hydraulic and hydrology, but there is a lot of difficulty to understand topographical information of river change on time and space due to a lack of past data by domestic conditions. This study was analyzed abandoned channel formation, changes in the vertical-section and cross-section length of rivers, and micro-landform changes etc using an image analysis technique. Purpose of this research is to evaluates the stable channel through a river channel morphology change from past and present river channels image. Mangyoung river was conducted artificial river maintenance through straight channel consolidation form 1920 to 1930 year. In the result river maintenance, mangyoung river length was decreased by 15 km and abandoned channels of six points were made. Since then, weir was continuously increased to control bed slope and use water. Install of weir was to be the reason of changes on channel width, thalweg, vegetated bar, sand bar, water area. Present Mangyoung river show that water area was temporary increased in upper and middle reach because of weir installation. Total sand bar was only decreased in upper channel. The change of vegetated bar and sand bar was slight recently. In this result, Mangyoung river is inferred to reach stabilized channel although there is some difference to the lower reach.

In order to examine the directional suitability of the axis direction of the fishing gear against the current, the experiments were carried out at the bamboo weir in Samchunpo water area from January, 2000 to September, 2001 The results of the study are as follows: In the experimental fishing gear constructed in the "V" shape, the range between two reference piles located at the entrance was 2.5m. The direction of bamboo weir′s axis was 355.5$^{\circ}$ The length of the left wing and those from the reference pile to the starting point of a curve were 106.0m, 7.5m, respectively. The length of the right wing and those from the reference pile to the starting point of a curve were 79.0m, 10.0m, respectively. Depths around the left and right stone wall that drove the steel pile were 5.0~6.5m and 6.5~9.5m, respectively. Also, depths on the bamboo weir′s axis and around the sack were 7.0~8.0m and about 8.0m, respectively. The maximum height of stone walls at the point of the left wing, the right wing and around the sack on the bamboo weir\` axis were 3.0m, 4.7m and 4.0m, respectively, Widths of stone walls at the point of both of the wings and around the sack on the bamboo weir\`s axis were 10.0~l4.0m, 22.0~25.0m, respectively. The averaging current direction on ebb tide was measured two times and it was 169.2$^{\circ}$ but the direction had about a 6.3$^{\circ}$ difference from the bamboo weirs axis. The maximum current speed appeared two to three hours later from the time of high tide and the current speed over 80.0cm/s lasted during about two Hours on the ebb tide In the case of a straight type wing In the bamboo weir, the eddy out of the left wing was comparatively big and the current on the right side from the bamboo weir′s axis had a tendency in turning to the right wing side. But in the case of a curve type wing, the eddy and tendency reduced significantly. It was thought that the experimental fishing gear was set suitably from the result of this simulation.
In the construction of nuclear power plants, only 420 MPa reinforcing bars are allowed and, therefore, so many large-diameter bars are placed, which results in steel congestion. Consequently, re-bar works are difficult and the quality of RC structures may be deteriorated. To solve the steel congestion, 550 MPa bars are necessary. Among many items for verifying structural performance of reinforced concrete with 550 MPa bars, the 43 mm hooked bars are examined in this study. All specimens failed by side-face blowout and the side cover explosively spalled at maximum loads. The bar force was initially transferred to the concrete primarily by bond along a straight portion. At the one third of maximum load, the bond reached a peak capacity and began to decline, while the hook bearing component rose rapidly. At failure, most load was resisted by the hook bearing. For confined specimens with hoops, the average value of test-to-prediction ratios by KCI code is 1.45. The modification factor of confining reinforcement which was not allowed for larger than 35 mm bars can be applied to 43 mm hooked bars. For specimens with 70 MPa concrete, the average value of test-to-prediction ratios by KCI code is 1.0 which is less than the values of the other specimens. The effects of concrete compressive strength should be reduced. An equation to predict anchorage capacity of hooked bars was developed from regression analysis including the effects of compressive strength of concrete, embedment length, side cover thickness, and transverse reinforcement index.
The object of this article is to examine the shapes and the development of the costume worn in the early and middle Yi Dynasty from the viewpoint of the history of customes with the excavated clothing from Chung-Ju (1530 A.D.), Wool-San (1650 A.D.), An-Dong (1650 A.D.) etc. The study of the history of costumes of the early years of the Yi Dynasty has been mainly dependent upon fiblirographical records sofar. So I have arranged in order some excavated clothing of the early Yi Dynasty, which gives us some means for the study of Korean historical costumes. It is noticeably remarkable that the daily wear of the early Yi Dynasty period was excavated for the first time from Chung-ju. The results drawn from this research are: It is argued that the original from of Chul-nik(天翼) has been excavated. This is the remnants Mongolian clothing of the Koryo Dynasty, and it is sketched in the Dai-Myong-jib-lei(大明集禮) as Yo-sun-o-ja which the lower classes usually put on. The similar clothing is also handed down as a Dan-po(緞袍) from the ming Dynasty, and we can presume that Chul-nik was a common clothing regardless of the social status of their wearer. It is also remarkable that even women at those times wore the Chul-nik. The length of the Cheo-go-ri of the early Yi Dynasty was the middle hip length, and the edge of the sleeves was very wide which called Cham-soo, and it was handed down to the middle period of the Yi Dynasty which can be seen in the coat (po) of women(直領袍). The systems of the straight-collar Po(袍) during the early Yi Dynasty were discovered for the first time. This Po(袍) which would represent the po-system of the early years of Yi Dynasty, is handed down even to the middle of Yi Dynasty. The collars of the Po(coat) of the early Yi Dynasty are mostly double collars(二重衿) and these give us the advantage in reconsidering of the cheo-go-ri(赤古里) of the Kingdom of Shin-la, or Koryo Dynasty. The edge of the women's Ba-ji(袴) of the early Yi Dynasty was wide and the Ba-ji had a shoulder belt which connect the front part with the back one, which showed the practical point of Ba-ji. The men's Ba-ji of the middle Yi Dynasty was the same as can be seen today and it is clear that the Mongolian Ba-ji dated to B.C. 1 was the same one also. In the system of the Chi-ma(常), there seems to be no differences between the ancient styles and those of these times.
