Development of Web-based Management System for Greenhouse Teleoperation (웹을 통한 온실 원격 관리 시스템의 개발)

  • In this paper, we have developed the web-based management system for greenhouse teleoperation. The remote control system consists of database, web-server, controller in greenhouse, and clients. The database in the server stores user informations and greenhouse conditions, and is used to manage user login and conditioning data. The management system developed by using Java applet, which is a client program for effective and easy management of greenhouse, monitors the greenhouse in real time. Master and driver boards installed in greenhouse control unit. Database on flowering to collect and analyze data exchanges data with the server. The greenhouse can be managed effectively by timer routine, repeat control within setting time, and algorithm of setting points. Also, the greenhouse conditions can be controlled by manual or remote controller (PC) through web browser in internet. Furthermore, all of the control devices of the greenhouse are managed by remote control using PC and checked via camera installed in greenhouse.

  • Owing to the latest changes in the IT environment and the advancement of RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology, the RFID technology has been frequently applied to the field of logistics and distribution. Now it is possible to acquire information in real-time more accurately and promptly as compared to data collection in the past, through the application of the RFID technology. However, in terms of the application of the RFID technology, the range of the field of logistics and distribution is considerably widely distributed. The management system that is able to monitor the RFID system installed in logistics centers and stores distributed in environmentally many regions, in real-time in the center is insufficient. Therefore, this study proposes a management system which is capable of transmitting the report of the occurrence of errors according to the pre-defined error types at the time of the occurrence of errors in the RFID system installed at each strategic foothold, in real-time to SMS and to the integrated monitoring system, and of taking actions for those errors from a remote place by using a mobile device. The purpose of the error management system proposed in this study is to minimize a data loss in the supplying network by quickly coping with errors in the area where the RFID system is installed.

  • This research aims to design and analyze a ubiquitous customer relationship management system based on near field communication which can be applied to stores in off-line environment. The existing customer relationship management system has been used mainly for stores in off-line environment to issue a royalty card, to stamp a seal on the purchase goods, and to manage the history of customers' visits and purchases. But, the existing system has two weaknesses; it makes difficult for a store manger not only to acquire a wealth of customer data but also to systematically manage the acquired data. In particular, the effectiveness and efficiency of the royalty card are questioned when a customer makes purchases in the store in that the customer frequently does not carry it or loses it. So, this research suggests a ubiquitous customer relationship management system where a tag for near field communications is attached to a store in off-line environment; a store manager can collect and manage easily customer's dada and customers can seamlessly acquire store's information. To do this, this research conducts the followings. First, we review the previous researches of customer relationship management to examine the concept of ubiquitous customer relationship management. Second, from the examination, we draw the factors to be considered in ubiquitous customer relationship management system based on near field communication. Third, we propose a scenario where the suggested system is used. Fourth, we analyze the participants' values and the process that will be used for the suggested system. Finally, we discuss the possibility of the application of this system to real business environment from various viewpoints.

A Study on Stock Management and Reduction for Apparel Industry (국내 의류업체의 재고처리 및 재고감축실태 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to create the program for efficient inventory management and reduction, investigating the present conditions and factors of the inventory throughout current apparel industry. The research method applied in this study is to survey 92 domestic companies which were randomly selected with respect to the kinds of goods produced : men′s wear, women′s wear, and unisex wear. The research can be summarized as follows : 1. The seasonal stock rate of current apparel industry was 28.75%, and the rate of men′s wear companies was higher than that of women′s and unisex wear companies. 19.43% of stock cost reflection rate was applied, and the stack cost of men′s and women′s wear companies was higher than that of unisex wear companies. 2. Periodic bargain sale was the most frequently used way of stock clearance, and "uniform price sale"and outlet stores were the second and the third irrespectively. Unisex wear companies appeared to be more enthusiastic in stock clearance than the companies belonging to the other two categories. The main places for the stock clearance were department stores, outlet stores and enterprises specialized in the stock clearance. 3. QR production was proved to be the most commonly adjusted method of stock reduction, and the emphasis on development of new design and the utilization of stock management system through computer network were the next, While unisex wear companies had established the positive policies, men′s wear companies took lukewarm altitudes in every aspect. The companies selling on an order were 18.64%, and unisex wear companies showed the higher rate. The lead-time after QR production was 10.91 days, and it seemed to take more time for men′s wear companies than for women′s and unisex wear companies. The rate of the chance in stock was proved to decrease by 12.94%, and there was found no meaningful difference among the three categories of apparel companies.

  • This study investigates the impact of the attributes of the eco-friendly agricultural products traceability system on perceived value and behavioral intention. Empirical subjects are those who live in Seoul and Gyeonggi province, over the age of 20 and have experience of buying eco-friendly agricultural products though department stores, discount stores and specialized eco-friendly product stores. After distributing 550 copies of questionnaire from April 10th, 2013 to May 9th, 2013, 470 copies(85.5%) are used for a final statistical analysis of the survey after excluding the copies with biased opinions or missing values. The results of this study show sufficient theoretical base for future research by verifying a causal relationships between the attributes of eco-friendly agricultural products traceability system such as reliability, safety and innovation, and consumers' perceived value and behavioral intention. Therefore, producers should correctly record producing history base so that consumers can continue to use the system. The traceability system can not only satisfy consumers by enhancing transparent management and producing systems for eco-friendly products but also guarantee us to eat all products we get without worries.

  • We propose an XML document storage system, called XDMS (XML Document Management System), by using an object-relational DBMS. XDMS generates object database schema from XML Schema and stores the XML documents in an object-relational database. SAX parser is used for understanding the structure of the XML documents, and XDMS transforms the documents into objects in the database. Experiment shows that object-relational databases provide more efficient storage and query model compared with relational databases.

  • Commercial analysis has been used for a lot of reasons such as improving the distribution structure, operational cost savings. However, existing commercial assay system is mostly flow through the analysis of the population and the environment around the store. Therefore, in this paper, we design a path weighted data analysis system for efficient product arrangement. It is not applying the analysis method of the existing commercial sales center but the data analysis system applying the weight to the form of customers' paths in a store. In conjunction with the existing POS system, it provides effective product placement in department stores, such as supermarkets, convenience stores. To this end, a system that maximizes efficiency of product placement in stores, receiving path data, converting them into statistics data that apply the weight, and printing out them into a visualized monitering system for the manager to see was designed.

  • This study of bimodal integration management system in conjunction with the tram and the tram cars bimodal integrated management system that occupies a part of the system to perform its role as a bimodal tram vehicle configuration, a device for the vehicle's infrastructure ryureul development and it is aimed to build on the vehicle. In this study, considering the future alignment of the accounting fee system, the expansion of the system reliability and stability around the activities that are underway.

  • Most of our GIS implementation activities have been focussed on the management of urban information in local municipalities. Management of urban facilities has been the major issue of concern and has little role in providing the decision maker with alternatives from which one can analyse and choose the optimum solution. For this reason, the spatial decision support system is in need. Business analysis software is effectively used for site analysis of new stores, customer prospecting and other issues of decision making for business purposes, The same geoprocessing module of business analysis software would be useful if put to use for the management of disaster management especially for storm surge management. Application of the business analysis model for disaster management has been reviewed. Specially in case of storm surge, where quick response is crucial, the spatial decision support system will be most effective.

Determinants of Contingent Employment in Korean Department Stores (국내 대형소매유통업체에서의 비정규직 고용의 결정요인에 관한 연구)

  • This paper examines what determines the use of contingent workers in Korean Department Stores. Drawing on internal labor market, transaction cost & agency, and bureaucracy theories, I hypothesize that four factors affect the use of contingent workers: job characteristics, HRM, occupation, and organizational characteristics. Data from a sample of employers surveyed by the author in 1997 were used to test the hypotheses, and analyses showed the following results. First, consistent with job-based perspective, we find that such job characteristics as firm-specific skill and the level of skill significantly affect the use of contingent workers. But job standardization and outcome measurability have no effects of its use. Second, also we find significant effects on the use of contingent workers of such HRM as scrutiny on employee selection and promotion system. The promotion system has expected effect on its use, but scrutiny on employee selection has opposite effect. Third, we find that occupation significantly affects the use of contingent workers, especially the extent of use of contingent workers of sales service is as five hundred times as that of managerial occupation. Fourth, also consistent with organizational-based perspective, we find that the firm's size significantly has positive effects, and affiliate company and labor union have negative effects. That is, the larger firm's size is, the more possibility of use of contingent workers exists, and the possibilities of its use reduce in case of affiliate company and in front of labor union. Finally, we discuss the implications and limits of theses findings.
