  • A cold storage is a warehouse of a insulated building with cooling installations. It has many different types of cold rooms with temperatures below 0 degrees Celsius, and the sequential workflow such as receiving, picking and packing runs in that rooms. Recently, the cold storages have adopted RFID technology, and consequently, warehouse product management in them are becoming intelligent and network. However, information inconsistency in warehouses caused by physical and logical errors reduces reliability in the RFID cold storage management system and worsens their work efficiency. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an early detection system to identify errors. In this paper, we suggest a supervisory system detecting logical errors on business processes of the RFID cold storage. It is composed of a master supervisor and mobile supervisor. In the master supervisor, the manager can set the constraints conditions and get alerts, and in the mobile supervisor, the workers confirm and deal with these faults directly. The supervisory system improve reliability of the RFID cold storage management system by recognizing a failure to identify physically and logically using these constraint conditions. This paper shows that the supervisory system can reduce the average recovery time to improve reliability by decreasing the time for detecting and analyzing errors in the RFID cold storage management system.

  • The purposes of this study were: a) to develop the a quality measurement tool for the contract-managed hospital foodservice, and b) to evaluate their performance with the developed quality measurement tool, and c) to verify the reliability and validity of the quality measurement tool. The developed quality measurement tool comprised two parts, which were foodservice management and medical nutrition care service. The foodservice management part was classified into six functional categories which were Menu, Procurement and Storage, Production and Distribution, Facility and Utility, Sanitation and Safety, and Management and Evaluation. The medical nutrition care service part indicated the medical nutrition care provided. Quality measurement tool had 91 standards and 324 indicators. The quality measurement tools were distributed to the hospital foodservice manager employed by the foodservice company. The 324 indicators were measured by foodservice manager on the 5-Likert-type scales, and then adapted to a 100 point scale. The SPSS Ver. 11.0 was used for statistical analysis. The categories whose scores were evaluated as being high were Procurement', General Sanitation', Personal sanitation' and Waste' and the categories whose scores were evaluated as being low were Diet Order Manual', Standard Recipe', Appropriateness (Facility and Utility)', Check (Facility and Utility)'and Information Management'. All the categories of medical nutrition service were evaluated as having seriously low scores. Therefore, it was necessary for the contract-managed hospital foodservice to improve its performance in the area of medical nutrition care service. For the verification of the developed quality measurement tool, the reliability obtained by calculating Cronbach's α was 0.8747, and the content validity was also proved by scrutiny of the modification of the Professional group's techniques. • This study was conducted to evaluate the recognition of HACCP(Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) concept by the industry foodservice managers in Pusan and the Kyung Nam areas and to suggest a guideline for an effective HACCP education program. A survey was conducted from 133 foodservice managers by using a questionnaire. The results were as follows; 68.0% industry foodservice managers were educated about HACCP concept, 33.8% didn't understand the concept, and only 13.4% understood the concept fully. On the application of HACCP program to the foodservice operation, 15.0% of managers always applied HACCP program, 35.4% often, and 49.6% did not. The reasons for not applying HACCP were the ignorance HACCP implementation method(36.7%), poor facilities of foodservice operations(34.7%), shortage of time(l4.3%), and difficult of HACCP principles(6.1%). The mean score of HACCP knowledge for all manager was 64.1, in which the educated manager showed significantly higher score than noneducated CP(0.01). The ratio of correct answers concerning HACCP was 80.5% for the pre-preparation stage, 60.3% for the receiving and storage stage, 57.0% for the hot and cold holding stage, 54.5% for the facilities sanitation stage, and 46.0% for the preparation stage. The mean score of HACCP knowledge was positively correlated with understanding of HACCP program as well as the application. Also, the implementation of HACCP program was positively correlated with the understanding of HACCP.

  • Nowadays, the amount of image data increase explosively. To manage the large amount of image data efficiently, high-dimensional index structures are necessary. However, as my knowledge none of existing DBMSs supports high-dimensional index structures as access methods of DBMSs. In this paper, we design and implement CIR-Tree as a access method for retrieving image data effectively on the MiDAS-III that is the storage subsystem of the BADA-III. The implemented CIR-Tree manager shows much better retrieval performance than sequential search in performance evaluation.

  • The leaking of personal information is mostly occurred by internal users. The confidential information such as credit card number can be disclosed or modified by system manager easily. The secure storaging and managing scheme for sensitive data of individual and enterprise is required for distributed data management. The manager owning private data is needed to have a weight which is a right to disclose a private data. For deciding a weight, it is required that system is able to designate the level of user's right. In this paper, we propose the new algorithm named digit-independent algorithm. And we propose a new data management scheme of gathering and processing the data based on digit-independent algorithm. Our sharing and recovering scheme have the efficient computation operation for managing a large quantity of data using weight table. The proposed scheme is able to use for secure e-business data management and storage in ubiquitous computing environment.
