끊어 지르기와 밀어 지르기 동작의 운동 제어적 특성에 대한 영상 분석 (Picture Analysis of Motor Control's Property about the Motion of Stop-jirugi and Push-jirugi)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 태권도 기본동작의 하나인 정권지르기 기술을 끊어지르기와 밀어지르기로 구분 실시하여 impact순간의 가속도 및 속도의 변화유형을 분석하고, 충격순간의 동작을 영상분석으로 살펴보았다. 먼저, 가속도와 속도 변화를 알아보기 위해서는 미국에서 제작한 Low-g Accelerometer 라는 가속도 분석장비를 이용하였으며, 피험자 상완 전체길이의 80% 지점에 흰 마분지를 걸어놓고 센서를 주먹 등에 단단히 부착한 후 끊어지르기와 밀어지르기를 각각 10회씩 실시하였다. 이중 3회씩의 그래픽을 분석자료로 활용하였다. 그리고 impact 순간의 영상 분석을 위해서는 미국에서 2005년에 만든 Trouble Shooter Camera를 활용하여 초당 250프레임으로 촬영하였다. 이러한 과정을 통해 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 첫째, 가속도 파형에서 밀어지르기가 끊어지르기 보다 1주기 더 나타나 밀어지르기 동작이 시간적으로 더 길게 힘을 가하다는 사실을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 가속도와 속도 변화를 그래프로 보면 최고의 가속도를 보인 후 급격하게 떨어지기 시작한 지점에서 최고 속도가 일어났다. 셋째, 고속 카메라에 의한 영상분석을 통하여 끊어지르기도 어깨를 약간은 밀게 된다는 사실을 알 수 있었다.

원자력발전소 케이블관통부 충전시스템 평가용 소프트웨어 개발 I (Development of a Software to Evaluate the CPES(Cable Penetration Fire Stop) System in Nuclear Power Plane I)

  • 본 논문은 원자력발전소 방화벽에 설치된 케이블관통부 충전시스템(CPFS: Cable Penetration Fire Stop)안에서 일어나는 동적 열 전달 현상을 해석하기 위해 수행된 실험을 다루고 있다. Dow Corning사의 내화성 충전물에 대해서 내화실험이 수행되었으며, 본 실험을 통해 준비된 CPFS 시험체가 성능위주 시험방법인 ASTM E-814의 F-rating과 T-rating을 동시에 만족시킬 수 있는지를 알아보았다. 그리고 여기서 얻어진 실험결과는 CPFS시스템 내화성능 평가용 소프트웨어를 개발하기 위해 사용되었다. CPFS 시스템 내에서의 열전도 현상은 주어진 초기조건과 경계조건 하에서 Parabolic PDE(Partial differential equation)로 수식화 되었으며, 이렇게 수식화된 PDE는 다시 연속과완화법(SOR: Sequential over-relaxation)과 Galerkin 유한요소법(FEM: Finite element method)로 구성된 혼합알고리즘에 따라 풀 수 있었다. PDE을 풀기 위해 널리 사용되고 있는 상용소프트웨어 Femlab을 이용하여 방화시스템 내에서의 온도분포를 계산하여 3차원 그래픽으로 나타내었다. 특히 CPFS시스템 내에서의 시간의 경과에 따른 온도분포의 변화에 대한 실험과 수치해석을 병행함으로써 결과에 대한 신뢰성을 높일 수 있었다.

대학진학 이후 흡연율과 관련요인 (Smoking Rate and Its Related Factors in Collegians after Their Admission to the College)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to suggest effective methods for not only preventing college students from being exposed to smoking but also helping them stop smoking, by examining and analysing a variety of factors related to their smoking behavior. Methods: To accomplish the purpose, this study was carried out using 1,553 valid questionnaires selected from 1,584 questionnaires completed and returned by 1,800 randomly chosen students of 2 colleges and 3 universities in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province and Daegu City during the period of April 3 through April 21, 2006. Results: It was turned out that while the total smoking rate of whole students was 52.4% in male students and 9.1% in female students, the smoking rate after their admission to the college was 27.1% in males and 1.5% in females. It was also shown that both the perceived susceptibility and barrier factors of Health Belief Model were statistically significant, and that the perceived seriousness factors were entirely significant in all other variables except the body seriousness. The perceived benefit factors were significant in only the variable that there would not be any improvement in academic performance even after stopping smoking. A relation between smoking and stop smoking program or smoking prevention program showed that the non-smoking rate was significantly high among the college students who participated in such programs while in middle school. When variables having a significant effect on smoking students after their admission were analysed, it was shown that the smoking rate was higher among males than females students, and that the more the number of smoking friends is and the more the number of students thinking that stop smoking would make it difficult to release stress and make friends is, the higher the smoking rate is among students. It is required, therefore, to encourage students to continuously participate in more smoking prevention programs from middle school, and to put an emphasis on a variety of smoking-related illnesses and advantages from non-smoking. Conclusions: Since the current smoking rate among college students is relatively high but most of the smoking students surveyed are ready to actually try to stop smoking, it will be possible to significantly reduce the smoking rate among college students if proper methods are suggested to eliminate barrier factors they face while participating in the stop smoking programs.

롤러기 재해분석 및 사용실태 조사 (Accident Analysis and Usage Actual Condition about Roller)

  • The purpose of this study is to try to find the risk of roller(mixing mill) in working site. In order to achieve the purpose, accident analysis and survey was carried out. This analysis revealed that average of loss days is 334.3 by roller jamming accident and 229.2 by other causes. It means jamming accident entails serious bodily harm. According to our research, we realize that most of rollers have some risk of the jamming accidents. It is simply because the roll gap in the roller is not more than 10cm. It also does not meet minimum distance so as to avoid the risk for jamming accident by KS. Furthermore, 28% of rollers have only one switch and 40% of rollers have two switches operating emergence stop equipment so as to reduce the risk of jamming accidents. Therefore, we presume that it is very difficult to turn on the switch of emergence stop equipment when they confront the accident because most of engineers are working alone.

음성 환경에 따른 한국어 폐쇄음의 음향적 특성 : 시간적 특성을 중심으로 (Some Acoustical Aspects of Korean Stops in Various Utterance Positions : focusing on their temporal characteristics)

  • The purposes of this study are two-folds: to find out the acoustic features of Korean stops in various utterance positions and their influence on the neighbouring segments. Korean stops($/p,\;p',\;p^{h};\;t,\;t',\;t^{h};\;k,\;k',\;k^{h}/$) are examined from CV, $V_1CV_2,\;V_1NCV_2,\;V_1LCV_2$ sequences. Three speakers (two male and one female speakers of Seoul dialect) served as subjects for the present study. VOT, closure duration of the target stops and duration of the neighbouring segments were measured from acoustic data. The results can be summarized as follows. First, stops show different temporal aspects depending on their place of articulation as well as their voice types. Velar stops tend to have shorter closure duration and longer VOT due to relatively slower movement of the articulator (i.e. tongue body) and higher supraglottal air pressure during the closure, respectively. Second, temporal aspects of the neighbouring segments appear to be influenced by the voice type of stop. The preceding segment tends to be longer when a stop has shorter duration. On the other hand, the following segment tends to be shorter, when a stop has longer VOT.

  • 선박에 설치된 크레인은 일반적으로 기둥의 높이가 높고 상대적으로 가는 진동에 취약한 장비이다. 선박 크래인 운전중 비상사태가 발생하여 브레이크를 사용하면 갑작스러운 충격하중에 의해 크레인 포스트에 과도한 진동이 발생하기도 한다. 이러한 진동에 의한 크레인의 안전성을 평가하는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. 본 연구에서는 크레인의 비상정지시 발생하는 충격력을 추정하고 이러한 충격력을 이용하여 크레인에서의 응답과 스트레스에 의한 피로수명을 예측하였다.

원심펌프의 시동 및 정지에 따른 수격현상 (Waterhammer Caused by Startup and Stoppage of a Centrifugal Pump)

  • The waterhammer has recently become more important because the pumping stations were big and the systems conveying the fluid through the large and long transmission pipelines were complex. When the pumps are started or stopped for the operation or tripped due to the power failure, the hydraulic transients occur as a result of the sudden change in velocity As the pressure waves are propagating between the pumping station and the distributing reservoir, the pressure inside the pipe drops to the liquid vapor pressure with the pipeline profile, at which time a vapor cavity forms, and finally the column separation occurs. If the pressure in the pipe is less than the atmospheric pressure, the pipe can be collapsed and destroyed after the water columns separated by the vapor cavity rejoin. During the reverse flow, the pressure is so abnormally increased at the pumping station that the accident of flooding may happen due to the failure of system. In this paper, the field tests on the waterhammer by the startup, stoppage, and power failure of a centrifugal pump were carried out for Yongma transmission pumping station in Seoul. The experimental results were compared with that of the numerical calculations, in which results the procedure of controlled pump normal shut-down and the two-step closing mode of controlling the ball valve for pump emergency stop are proposed to reduce the pressure surge.

Relationship between executive function and cue weighting in Korean stop perception across different dialects and ages

  • The present study investigated how one's cognitive resources are related to speech perception by examining Korean speakers' executive function (EF) capacity and its association with voice onset time (VOT) and f0 sensitivity in identifying Korean stop laryngeal categories (/t'/ vs. /t/ vs. /th/). Previously, Kong et al. (under revision) reported that Korean listeners (N = 154) in Seoul and Changwon (Gyeongsang) showed differential group patterns in dialect-specific cue weightings across educational institutions (college, high school, and elementary school). We follow up this study by further relating their EF control (working memory, mental flexibility, and inhibition) to their speech perception patterns to examine whether better cognitive ability would control attention to multiple acoustic dimensions. Partial correlation analyses revealed that better EFs in Korean listeners were associated with greater sensitivity to available acoustic details and with greater suppression of irrelevant acoustic information across subgroups, although only a small set of EF components turned out to be relevant. Unlike Seoul participants, Gyeongsang listeners' f0 use was not correlated with any EF task scores, reflecting dialect-specific cue primacy using f0 as a secondary cue. The findings confirm the link between speech perception and general cognitive ability, providing experimental evidence from Korean listeners.

Effects of Preprocessing on Text Classification in Balanced and Imbalanced Datasets

  • In this study, preprocessings with all combinations were examined in terms of the effects on decreasing word number, shortening the duration of the process and the classification success in balanced and imbalanced datasets which were unbalanced in different ratios. The decreases in the word number and the processing time provided by preprocessings were interrelated. It was seen that more successful classifications were made with Turkish datasets and English datasets were affected more from the situation of whether the dataset is balanced or not. It was found out that the incorrect classifications, which are in the classes having few documents in highly imbalanced datasets, were made by assigning to the class close to the related class in terms of topic in Turkish datasets and to the class which have many documents in English datasets. In terms of average scores, the highest classification was obtained in Turkish datasets as follows: with not applying lowercase, applying stemming and removing stop words, and in English datasets as follows: with applying lowercase and stemming, removing stop words. Applying stemming was the most important preprocessing method which increases the success in Turkish datasets, whereas removing stop words in English datasets. The maximum scores revealed that feature selection, feature size and classifier are more effective than preprocessing in classification success. It was concluded that preprocessing is necessary for text classification because it shortens the processing time and can achieve high classification success, a preprocessing method does not have the same effect in all languages, and different preprocessing methods are more successful for different languages.

Fabrication and Inertia Dynamic Friction Properties of Pitch-based Carbon-Carbon Composites

  • This paper presents the effects of an initial braking velocity, a braking pressure, and the number of braking stop on the tribological behaviors for the three different C-C composites using an inertia dynamic-friction tester. The C-C composites were prepared through the processes of several cycles of pitch impregnation/carbonization with different friction surface texture such as continuous 8-harness satin fabric (ADD-1), chopped fiber (ADD-2) and chopped fiber (ADD-3) having higher fiber volume fraction on friction than ADD-2 by about 10%. ADD-1 exhibited a higher fraction coefficient (0.41~0.33) than those of ADD-2 and ADD-3 (0.32~0.26) under the various initial braking velocities and braking pressures. The fraction coefficients decreased with increasing the initial velocity and the braking pressures. Wear rate by the thickness change after every 25 stop indicated that ADD-2 and ADD-3 having 1.7~2.7 $\mu\textrm{m}$/stop/pair were much lower than that of ADD-1 showing 5.0~6.5 $\mu\textrm{m}$/stop/pair. All specimens showed a little bit lower wear rate during the middle stage than the initial and latter stages among 100 braking stops. ADD-1 showed higher friction coefficient and wear rate due to the active pull-out of the fibers, evidenced by thicker were film and wear debrises.
