  • Since wireless sensor networks (WSN) have relatively narrow bandwidth and have limited memory space. Mosaic by inlaying images transmitted by adjacent sensors can provide wider field of view and smaller storage memory. Most WSN are used for surveillance purpose, image acquisition period should be sufficiently short, so that mosaic algorithm has to be run in real time. Proposed algorithm is derived by using the fact that position of sensor nodes are fixed and known. Transformation matrix can be calculated by using distance between sensor nodes and distance between sensor nodes and predefined object. Simulation result shows that proposed algorithm provides very short processing time whereas it preserves image quality.

  • This thesis makes it an aim to develop designs of Shinhanbok coats interpreting and applying the formative structure of the lattice window pattern in Huijeongdang of the Changdeokgung palace, one of the best architecture in Chosun dynasty. Literature review about the history and characteristics of the window of Huijeongdang of the Changdeokgung palace was performed on the basis of the internet resources and papers, and the examples of the fashion design applying the lattice window patterns were analyzed. Then, three style Shinhanbok coats were designed and presented with making use of 6 kind of lattice window patterns as its motif. The coats were designed in flexible size, attempting to clad any kind of body size and shapes. Design 1 drawn from Wanjasal, Tisal, Design 2 drawn from Ajasal, Yongjasal, Tisal, design 3 drawn from Bitsal, Jungjasal. In conclusion, lattice window patterns of the traditional beauty highlighted in view of modern times might be suggested as the motif for expressing the proportion with balance and rhythm with stability. The division of the space with the line was tried with the technique of the bias cutting, stitching and taping with the design of simplicity signified in the aesthetics of the vacant space in addition to its ornamental effects. Thus, this study would like to contribute to the popularity of the Shinhanbok outlined in modern application and unique taste through the study and applications of the traditional lattice window pattern of Korea.

  • In many applications, images acquired from multiple cameras are stitched to form an image with a wide viewing angle. We propose a method of estimating a seam line using motion information to stitch multiple images without distortion of the moving object. Existing seam estimation techniques usually utilize an energy function based on image gradient information and parallax. In this paper, we propose a seam estimation technique that prevents distortion of moving object by adding temporal motion information, which is calculated from the gradient information of each frame. We also propose a measure to quantify the distortion level of stitched images and to verify the performance differences between the existing and proposed methods.

  • Techniques related to 360 VR service have been developed to improve the quality of the stitched image and video, where illumination compensation scheme is one of the important tools. Among the conventional illumination compensation algorithms, Gain-based compensation and Block Gain-based compensation algorithms have shown the outstanding performances in the process of making panorama picture. However, those are ineffective in the 360 VR service, because the disparity between illuminations of the multiple pictures in 360 VR is much more than that in making the panorama picture. In addition, the number of the pictures to be stitched in 360 VR system is more than that in the conventional panorama image system. Thus, we propose a preprocessing tool to enhance the illumination compensation algorithm so that the method reduces the degradation in the stitched picture of 360 VR systems. The proposed algorithm consists of 'color compensation' and 'illumination compensation'. The simulation results show that the proposed technique improve the conventional techniques without additional complexity.

  • In this study, the soft textile actuator is produced for a smart wearable with the shape memory effects from linear shape memory alloys of Nickel and Titanium using the driving force through the fabrication process. The measurement model was designed to measure dynamic characteristics. The heating method, and memory shape of the linear shape memory alloy were set to measure the operating temperature. A shape memory alloy at 40.13℃, was used to heat the alloy with a power supply for the selective operation and rapid reaction speed. The required amount of current was obtained by calculating the amount of heat and (considering the prevention of overheating) set to 1.3 A. The fabrication process produced a soft textile actuator using a stitching technique for linear shape memory alloys at 0.5 mm intervals in the general fabric. The dynamic characteristics of linear shape memory alloys and actuators were measured and compared. For manufactured soft textile actuators, up to 0.8 N, twice the force of the single linear shape memory alloy, 0.38 N, and the response time was measured at 50 s.
