  • In this paper, we propose a 3D modeling method using Laser Slit Beam and Stereo Camera. We can get depth information of image by analyzing projected Laser Slit Beam on object. 3D modeling is demanded exquisite merge of 3D data. In our approach, we can get the depth image where the reliability is high. Each reconstructed 3D modeling is combined by the sink information which is acquired by SIFT (Scale Invariant Feature Transform) Algorithm. We perform experiments using indoor images. The results show that the proposed method works well in indoor environments

  • In this paper we propose a new method for modeling indoor environment with stereo camera and suggest a localization method for mobile robot navigation on the basis of it. From the viewpoint of easiness in map building and exclusion of artificiality, the main idea of this paper is that environment is represented as global topological map and each node has omni-directional metric and color information by using stereo camera and pan/tilt mechanism.   • This paper proposes a new stereo matching algorithm using both the divide-and-conquer method and the DSI(Disparity Space Image) technique. Firstly, we find salient feature points on the each scanline of the left image and find the corresponding feature point at the right image. Then the problem of a scanline is divided into several subproblems. By this way, matching of the subintervals is implemented by using the DSI technique. The DSI technique for stereo matching process is a very efficient solution to find matches and occlusions simultaneously and it is very speedy. In addition, we apply three occluding patterns to process occluded regions, as a result, we reduce mismatches at the disparity discontinuity.

  • An on-line quality control of hot steel products is one of the important issues in the steel industry because of cost minimization. In recent years, relative depth information of surface defects is increasingly required for strict quality control. In this paper, a 3D shape reconstruction scheme for defects on a hot steel surface based on a multi-spectral photometric stereo method is proposed. After simultaneously illuminating a hot steel surface by using vertical/horizontal linearly polarized lights of green and blue light sources, the corresponding 4 images are obtained. The photometric stereo method is then applied with the aid of a GPU (Graphic Processing Unit) to reconstruct the shape of the target surface based on these images. The proposed scheme was validated through experiments.

  • This paper describes a method of stereo image composition for mixed reality without camera calibration or complicate tracking algorithm. The proposed system tracks the panel which has blob makers, and composes virtual objects naturally using the method of texture mapping which is often used in geological computer graphics mapping when we do mapping 2D computer graphic data or man-made 2D images. The proposed algorithm makes it possible for us to compose virtual data even in the case that the panel is bent. For composing 3D object, the system uses depth information obtained from stereo image so that we do not need cumbersome procedure of camera calibration.

  • In this paper, we propose sharing 3D media between multisite using enhanced Access Grid (e-AG) which is a composition of 3D display and Access Grld (AG) Conventional AG and other collaborative systems have a limitation to share immersive 3D media Thus, proposed system supports sharing 3D media contents in a AG meeting section. Real object can be shared by acquiring stereo image with pre-calibrated stereo camera and by delivering, and virtual object can be shared by transmitting state information after downloading 3D model. And also, real video scene acquired by stereo camera and virtual object from 3D model can be displayed on the 3D display system of each node adaptively. The characteristics of proposed sharing method are sharing 3D media, displaying 3D media on a system adaptively, supporting real-time interaction. The proposed sharing method will be used remote lecture, remote collaboration with 3D media.

  • 거리 기반법은 상세한 3D 데이터를 얻기 쉬운 반면 영상 기반법은 그렇지 않다. 본 논문에서는 확대 양안입체 영상으로부터 상세한 3차원 데이터를 얻는 새로운 방법을 제시한다. 주 아이디어는 확대경을 사용하는 것이다. 확대경은 물체를 확대할 뿐만 아니라 깊이 해상도도 증가시킨다. 깊이 해상도 증가와 변위 증폭 사이의 관계를 수학적으로 증명하고 원 3D 데이터를 개선시키는 방법이 제시된다.

  • A robot needs a human detection algorithm for interaction with a human. This paper proposes a method that finds people using a SVM (support vector machine) classifier and a stereo camera. Feature vectors of SVM are extracted by HoG (histogram of gradient) within images. After training extracted vectors from the clustered images, the SVM algorithm creates a classifier for human detection. Each candidate for a human in the image is generated by clustering of depth information from a stereo camera and the candidate is evaluated by the classifier. When compared with the existing method of creating candidates for a human, clustering reduces computational time. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed approach can be executed in real time.

  • A Stereo matching has been an important tool for reconstructing three dimensional terrain. In this stereo matching process, DEM(Digitai Elevation Map) can be generated by the disparity from reference image to target image. Generally disparity map in matching process can be implemented by wraping from reference image to target image and if the role of reference and target is interchanged, the different DEM can be obtained. To evaluate the generated DEM from matching process, We adapted the Photorealistic synthetic image generator using ray tracing technique. The generator produce two simulated image from previous DEM and Ortho-image which is regard as Ground-truth. In this paper, we are concern about estimating more accurate DEM from these two DEMs. The several fusion methods of two DEMs are proposed to generate accurate DEM and compared with previous method. one of fusion methods is by using Cross-Correlation match score and the true DEM should have a high matching score.

  • This paper presents the method of 3D reconstruction of the depth information from the endoscopic stereo scopic images. After camera modeling to find camera parameters, we performed feature-point based stereo matching to find depth information. Acquired some depth information is finally 3D reconstructed using the NURBS(Non Uniform Rational B-Spline) method and OpenGL. The final result image is helpful for the understanding of depth information visually.
