Analysis of CIELuv Color feature for the Segmentation of the Lip Region (입술영역 분할을 위한 CIELuv 칼라 특징 분석)

  • In this paper, a new type of lip feature is proposed as distance metric in CIELUV color system. The performance of the proposed feature was tested on face image database, Helen dataset from University of Illinois. The test processes consists of three steps. The first step is feature extraction and second step is principal component analysis for the optimal projection of a feature vector. The final step is Otsu's threshold for a two-class problem. The performance of the proposed feature was better than conventional features. Performance metrics for the evaluation are OverLap and Segmentation Error. Best performance for the proposed feature was OverLap of 65% and 59 % of segmentation error. Conventional methods shows 80~95% for OverLap and 5~15% of segmentation error usually. In conventional cases, the face database is well calibrated and adjusted with the same background and illumination for the scene. The Helen dataset used in this paper is not calibrated or adjusted at all. These images are gathered from internet and therefore, there are no calibration and adjustment.

A Study on Joining Method of BSCCO(223) Multifilamentary Tape (BSCCO(2223) 다심 초전도 선재의 접합공정 연구)

  • We evaluated the electrical properties of 37 multifilamentary jointed tapes processed by superconducting joint. In the superconducting joining method, a lap-joint was used. Tapes were selectively etched, and exposed superconducting cores of the two tapes were brought into contact with each other and then only the joined region was uniaxially pressed in the range of 1,000 to 2,50 MPa. The critical current ratio(CCR) and n-value of the jointed tape were evaluated as a function of uniaxial pressure and number of step in the contacting region. It was observed that the CCR was dependent on the number of step, but almost independent of uniaxial pressure. The highest critical current ratio and n-value were obtained to be 58% and 26%, respectively, for the jointed tape to the tape itself.

A Study on the Core Noise Reduction Techniques of Power Transformers (전력용 변압기 철심소음 저감기술에 관한 연구)

  • According to the increase of power demand and expansion of downtown, it is necessary to install transformers additionally in operating substations and construct substations in residential area. But the public complaint is increased due to the transformer noise of the substation. KEPCO has used a vibration preventing pad, various soundproof walls and an encloser to transformers in outdoor substations, and a soundproof door, shutter and wind-path soundproof equipment in indoor substations to block the sound propagation of the transformers. But these noise reduction methods are not satisfied. It should be considered to reduce transformer noise itself. In this paper, we investigated core noise reduction techniques to develope a low noise transformer. The techniques to reduce core noise of the transformer are application of high permeability grain oriented silicon sheets, decrease of magnetic flux density of core, application of 6step-lap core stacking method, improvement of core binding method(binding addition, band fixing) and application of rubber damper in oder to reduce transmission of core vibration, etc.

비정질 코아 변압기의 설계 및 해석 기술

  • 비정질 core의 Butt-lap-step joint model의 자계를 유한요소법을 이용하여 해석한 결과, step당 리본 수의 변화, 설계자속밀도의 변화, 코아 연결부의 형상 변화에 따른 특성을 분석하면 다음과 같이 요약할 수 있다. (1) Step당 리본 수의 변화에 따른 영향에서 리본수가 작을수록 코아 전체의 flux density의 편차가 작으며 최대값 역시 낮으므로 유리하다. (2) 설계자속밀도의 변화에 따른 코아 부위의 자속 변화는 인가하는 설계자속밀도의 값이 높을수록 균일한 자장 분포를 얻을 수 있다. (3) 코아의 적층 방법의 변화에서는 Butt-Lap-Step방식이 가장 유리한 결과를 얻을 수 있었지만 코아 곡률부의 형상 변화가 중요한 요소로 작용한다. (4) 최적 step수, ribbon/group 수, airgap 길이 등은 전체 model의 특성, 손실, 제작성 등을 고려하여 결정하는 것이 바람직하며, 유한요소법의 해석으로는 전체적인 비정질 코아 변압기의 전기적인 특성과 경향을 도식화하여 설계자에게 좋은 설계방향과 정보를 제공할 수 있게 된다. 또한 비정질 코아의 특성상 종래의 일반적인 유한요소법으로는 많은 계산시간과 큰 computer system을 요구하는 core의 미세부분의 해석은 새로운 계산기법을 도입하여 계산해야 할 것이다. 이러한 문제해결을 위하여 3절에서 설명한 Asymptotic Expansion을 이용하여 균질화(homogenized)된 투자율 (또는 reluctivity)를 산출하고, 여기에 유한요소기법을 도입하여 단점을 보완한 새로운 기법의 algorithm을 개발하고 있으며, 이 기법은 계산시간의 단축과 Microscopic하게 자속밀도 분포를 관찰 할 수 있으므로 joint 부분의 자속경로와 손실 등 비정질 코아의 설계 Parameter를 설정하는 결정적인 역할을 할수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Procedural steps for reliability evaluation of ultrasonically welded REBCO coated conductor lap-joints under low cycle fatigue test condition

  • This study presents a comprehensive procedure for the low cycle fatigue test of ultrasonically welded (UW) coated conductor (CC) lap-joints. The entire process is examined in detail, from the robust fabrication of the UW REBCO CC joints to the reliability testing under a low number of repeated cycle fatigue conditions. A continuous Ic measurement system enables real-time monitoring of Ic variations throughout the fatigue tests. The study aims to provide a step-by-step procedure that involves joint fabrication, electromechanical property (EMP) tests under uniaxial tension for stress level determination, and subsequent low-cycle fatigue tests. The joints are fabricated using a hybrid method that combines UW with adding In-Sn soldering, achieving a flux-free hybrid welding approach (UW-HW flux-free). The selected conditions for the low cycle fatigue tests include a stress ratio of R=0.1 and a frequency of 0.02 Hz. The results reveal some insights into the fatigue behavior, irreversible changes, and cumulative damage in the CC joints.

  • 본 논문은 154kV급 전력용변압기의 소음저감 기술 연구에 대한 것으로, 변압기의 소음저감을 위하여 전기설계 변경 및 외함의 구조개선을 실시하였다. 기본적으로 저소음변압기 외함은 차음판을 가지는 이중구조를 채택하였고, 변압기의 자왜를 감소시키기 위해서 Core를 Step-Lap 적층하고, 자속밀도를 감소시켰다.

  • The transformer core using amorphous Fe-B-Si ribbon were designed by magnetostatic software. The basic model of core is Butt-Lap-Step type, non-culled typo and stair type core joint. And the variables are the number of ribbons for on step, flux density and core shape.

Vietnamese Annexation of Cambodia(1835-1847) with the Handling of the Queen Mei (베트남의 캄보디아 병합(1835-1847) - 여왕 메이(Mei)의 처리문제를 중심으로)

  • In 1835, quickly after the Cambodian king Ang Chan died, Vietnamese emperor Minh Mang started to proceed his ambition to grab the territory of Cambodia. As the first step, he stationed big forces led by Truong Minh Giang in Phnom Phen, and appointed the Ang Chan's second daughter, Mei, as the successor of her father but with the humble title of Chan Lap Quan Chu, or the Prefecture sovereign of Cambodia. This article discusses the ways how the Vietnamese leaders manipulated the status of the Cambodian queen with each step of protection, assimilation, and finally a rupture. The author seeks for Vietnamese own theory of annexation in the process. In doing so, the author claims that Vietnamese tough policy of annexation was closely interwoven with the unequal relationship between the Vietnamese emperors and the Cambodian queen, i. e. men and woman. The first chapter discusses how and why the second daughter was chosen, and what in reality the status of the queen was under the protection of Vietnamese general Truong Minh Giang. Second chapter shows how much Mei was bullied by the Vietnamese. She was kidnapped to Vietnam, and was even regarded by the Cambodian people that she became the 'lover' or the 'concubine' of the general Truong Minh Giang. Third chapter deals with Vietnam's retreat forced by the Cambodian resistance together with the Thai intervention, and discusses how much Vietnam tried to maintain its authority over Cambodia through the queen Mei. Cambodia, in the 19th century, was a experimental place for the 'mission of civilization' from the side of Vietnam. Mei was a main character in this period from the beginning to the end. The conclusion of this article stresses that the desire of Vietnam ('civilized') to assimilate Cambodia ('barbarious') was strengthened by the psychology of the male master (Vietnam) to domesticate the female subject (Cambodia). The relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia was not only political but also gender oriented. In this epic, the existence of the queen Mei should be regarded as an important key to understanding of the Vietnamese theory for the annexation of Cambodia.

Development of Simulation Method of Doppler Power Spectrum and Raw Time Series Signal Using Average Moments of Radar Wind Profiler (윈드프로파일러의 평균모멘트 값을 이용한 도플러 파워 스펙트럼 및 시계열 원시신호 시뮬레이션기법 개발)

  • Since radar wind profiler (RWP) provides wind field data with high time and space resolution in all weather conditions, their verification of the accuracy and quality is essential. The simultaneous wind measurement from rawinsonde is commonly used to evaluate wind vectors from RWP. In this study, the simulation algorithm which produces the spectrum and raw time series (I/Q) data from the average values of moments is presented as a step-by-step verification method for the signal processing algorithm. The possibility of the simulation algorithm was also confirmed through comparison with the raw data of LAP-3000. The Doppler power spectrum was generated by assuming the density function of the skew-normal distribution and by using the moment values as the parameter. The simulated spectrum was generated through random numbers. In addition, the coherent averaged I/Q data was generated by random phase and inverse discrete Fourier transform, and raw I/Q data was generated through the Dirichlet distribution.

On the Design of Demodulator and Equalizer of 9600 BPS Modem (9600 BPS Modem의 복조기와 Equalizer에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper effective methods of demodulation and equalization in a 9600 bps modem have been studied. To reduce the number of multiplications required per symbol in demodula-tion, the method of using a decimation filter is presented. In the equalizer the optimum step size and the steady state mean-squared error (MSE) are obtained from computer simulation results. The performance of the first-order carrier phase tracking loop is compared with that of the second-order loop when carrier frequency offset exists. In addition, the finite word length effects in the equalizer are studied.
