제철소 원료 하역 일정계획 시스템 (A raw-material unloading scheduling system for an integrated steel mill)

  • At an integrated steel mill, raw materials such as coal and iron ore are discharged by ships through multiple unloaders. The discharged raw material is then transported to storage yards through multiple routes established simultaneously on a fairly complicated belt conveyer network. Formulating an efficient unloading schedule is a quite cumbersome task due to the insufficient number of berths and unloaders as well as the potential conflict among routes being used simultaneously. In this paper, we propose a solution approach to the scheduling problem and describe the prototype system that we built as an implementation of our approach.

  • Numerical analysis code has been developed for investigating the combustion characteristics in a slab heater of a steel mill company. Unsteady full 3-Dimensional behaviour can be predicted with the code. Premixed flame model is adopted for combustion phenomena. And eddy dissipation model is used for turbulent flow and non gray FVM method for radiation. Slab movement can be fully traced from entrance into heater until it's exit and computation is performed during that period. Code was validated by comparing the calculation results with experimental ones for the bench scale heater.

사질토층내 수평재하 말뚝의 거동해석에 관한 연구 (A Study on Analysis of Laterally Loaded Piles in Sand)

  • 본 연구는 사질토 지반내의 정적수평재대 pile의 거동을 예측하기 위해 g-y curve와 유한요소 비법에 의한 수치해석방법을 개발하기 위해 수행되었다. Winkier model에 의한 반력과 P-y curve에 의한 반력이 일치하는 soil modulus를 반복계산에 의하며 산정하였다. 유한요소기법에 의하여 각 절점간의 상호영향을 직접 고려할 수 있었다. 이 전산 Program을 과양제철소의 현장실측자료에 적용 하여 본 해석방법의 적합성을 검토하고 그 결과를 분석하였다.

부식 및 스케일 억제제에 의한 냉각수 수질향상 (Improvement of Cooling Water Quality by Corrosion and Scale Inhibitor)

  • This study was investigated to control the corrosion and scale at the cooling water system in steel works. Laboratory and field tests were performed for the indirect cooling water system of plate mill. Throughout the experiment, various factors such as leakage of pipes, heating rate and capacity, and the reaction between existing and substitute inhibitors were carefully monitored. The results showed that the harmful effect of high temperature could be minimized, and satisfactory corrosion/scale controls were effectively achieved using inhibitor, even at the increased temperature of $80^{\circ}C$. The batch and field tests in the gas scrubbing cooling water system of blast furnace and cooling water system of corex plant indicated that the new inhibitor was more effective for the prevention of corrosion and scale than the existing one.

  • The objective of this paper is to build a decision method of the shape quality for the stainless steel and ensure reducibility of working-load for next rolling process. The criterion of the shape quality is derived from the customer needs, and Automatic Shape Decision System is implemented in SPM (Skin Pass Mill). The methods of shape decision are based on curve fitting and frequency analysis and so on. The Field Test with concerned customers is successful. The performance of right decision is 99% and the claims from the customer have been largely reduced.

  • In the foe of global competition, the requirements for the continuously increasing productivity, flexibility and quality(dimensional accuracy, mechanical properties and surface properties) have imposed a mai or change on steel manufacturing industries. Indeed, one of the keys to achieve this goal is the automation of the steel-making process using AI(Artificial Intelligence) techniques. The automation of hot rolling process requires the developments of several mathematical models for simulation and quantitative description of the industrial operations involved. In this paper, an on-line training neural network for both long-term teaming and short-term teaming was developed in order to improve the prediction of rolling force in hot rolling mill. This analysis shows that the predicted rolling force is very closed to the actual rolling force, and the thickness error of the strip is considerably reduced.

조질압연에서의 연신율제어를 위한 set-up 모델 개발 (Development of Set-up Model for Elongation Control in Steel Skin Pass Mill)

  • The mathematical set-up model was developed to reduce the mechanical property deviation in annealed and slightly rolled steel strip. The mechanical peculiarities of skin pass rolling process, such as high friction value and non-circular contact arc, low reduction and non-negligible entry and exit elastic zones as well as central restricted deformation zone are all taken into account. The deformation of work rolls is calculated with the influence function method and arbitrary contact arc shape is permitted. The strip deformation is modeled by slab method and the entry and exit elastic deformation zones are included. The strip restricted deformation zone near the neutral point is also considered. It was revealed that the new model has better accuracy than present regression model by statistical analysis with actual mill rolling data.

볼 엔드밀 가공환경 조건이 고경도 강재의 절삭 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Ball End Mill Cutting Environments on Machinability of Hardened Tool Steel)

  • This research conducted milling tests to study effects of cutting environment conditions of ball end mills on the characteristics of hard milling process. KP4 steels and STD11 heat treated steels were used as the workpiece and WC-Co ball end mill tools with TiAlN coated were utilized in the cutting tests. Dry cutting without coolant and semi-dry cutting using botanical oil coolant were conducted and MQL(Minimum Quantity Lubricant) device was used to spray coolant. Cutting forces, tool wear and surface roughness were measured in the cutting tests. Results showed that dry cutting of KP4 and hardened STD11 specimens produced better surface quality and wear performance than MQL spray cutting did.
