대형 하수박스암거의 속성 데이터베이스 구축을 위한 결함유형 평가 (Evaluation of Defect Types for Characteristic Database Construction of Large Sewage Box Culverts)

  • As the 3D laser scanning technology capable of databaseing large sewage box culverts becomes possible, it is necessary to develop a standardization manual that can clearly distinguish the structural and operational defect types of box culver and analyze the defect data. In this study, we collected and analyzed defects in sewage box culverts of 14,827m in total by selecting three districts in Korea. The major defects were surface damages, and their defect densities were $2.17m^2/m$, $0.27m^2/m$ and $0.10m^2/m$ for aggregate exposure, Steel reinforcement exposure, and Steel reinforcement projecting. In order to support the decision of the box culverment management, it was divided into five grades and each defect code and defect score were allocated. The results of this study are useful for the diagnosis of the sewage box culverts in Korea and it is expected to support a decision making for management.

  • The control logic of steam temperature was redesigned, tested and applied to the power plant after its steam temperature equipments had been revised. This power plant use the ancillary gas gotten in the process of making iron in the steel mill. The boiler of power plant has the superheater and reheater to make the superheated steam. The superheater and reheater have the spray valve to control their temperature. The reheater has the gas bypass damper additionally in this plant. The control logics were redesigned in cascade forms and the initial parameters of control logics were calculated from the several step tests. The final parameters could be obtained through the several repeated tests and the feedforward functions were added by temperature deviation and air flow. The power plant is being commercially-operated normally by improved control logics and It is expected that this improved controls help the efficiency improvement and safe operation of plant.

  • POSCO $\#2$ Stainless steel making plant produces more than 600 thousand ton per year with a variety of products consisting of austenite and ferrite stainless steel to meet custrmers' needs since 1996. The plant has four different major processes, that are, EAF-AOD-VOD-CC to finally produce semi-product called as slab. In this study, we importantly took AOD process into consideration due to its roles such as to check and verify the final qualities through sampling inspection. But the lead-time from sampling to its verification takes five to ten minutes causing produrtivity loss as muck as the lead-time as a result. Of all indices for quality and process control the plant has, carbon ingredient in liquid type of steel is the most important since it affects in a great way to the characteristics of steel, if any problem. customers not satisfied with quality could issue a claim; therefore there is no way hut to guarantee it before delivery. in this study, to reasonably reduce lead-time ran save a cycle time and finally improve our productivity from a state-or-art alternative just such as applying statistical model based on multi-regression analysis into the A.O.D line by analyzing the statistical and technical relationship between carbon and the relevant some vital independent variables. In consequence, the model with R-square $87\%$ allowed the plant to predict, abbreviating the process in relations to sampling to verification. approximately the value of [C] so that operators could run the process line with reliability on data automatically calculated instead of actual inspection. In the future, we are going to do the best to share this type of methodology with other processes, if possible, to apply into them.

  • Throughout CGL (Continuous Galvanizing Line) in steel works, zinc-coated steel sheets are produced which are used where long-running corrosion resistivity is required. During the galvanizing process, top dross is created and floated on the zinc pot. Because the dross leaves ill patterns on the coated sheets, a robot system is developed to automatically collect and remove the top dross. It consists of a robot and its carriage system, a pot level sensor, a system controller, and special robot tools. For the first time the level of zinc pot must be measured and fed back to the robot controller to avoid submersion of the robot hand into the hot zinc pot. In this paper, acoustic distance sensor is tested as a candidate for the pot level sensor in the view point of hot environment. Some considerations on the use of the acoustic distance sensor will be denoted.

  • In the energy-guzzling industries such as steel making and cement, power plants utilizing waste heat have been attracting attention to increase energy efficiency. However, the existing economic analysis system doesn't consider the special working fluids and the cost models of the main equipment used in the waste heat recovery power plant. So it is difficult to estimate the plant economics accurately. Therefore, It is required to develop a economic analysis module that can more accurately evaluate for the power plant. In this study, the systems engineering approach was used to design and develop the module that systematically reflects the characteristics of the power plant and various requirements. Specifically, first, the special working fluids and main equipment applied to the power plant were investigated. Next, the cost models for each equipment were developed. Finally, the economic analysis module based on this was developed.

  • 칼슘 페라이트는 소결광 제조 시 생성되는 자용성 소결 광물의 일종으로, 제철 공정의 소결광용 결합제 및 제강용 융제로 사용된다. 기존 소결광용 결합제 및 제강용 융제보다 용융온도가 낮아 결합제 및 융제로서의 효과가 우수하다. 본 연구에서는 제철공정에서 발생하는 다양한 산업부산물을 시작원료로 사용하여 칼슘 페라이트를 제조하였다. 칼슘 페라이트 물성을 분석 평가하기 위해, 시멘트 제조공정 시험법을 준용하였다. 더불어 칼슘 페라이트의 물성을 평가하기 위해 결정분석, 파괴하중, 열분석 등을 시행하였다.

  • This paper proposes a swarm-based fuzzy system modeling technique for coke oven combustion control diagnosis. The coke plant produces coke for the blast furnace plant in steel making process by charging coal into oven and supplying gas to carbonize it. A conventional mathematical model for coke oven combustion control has been used to control the amount of gas input, but it does not work well because of highly nonlinear feature of coke plant. To solve this problem, swarm-based fuzzy system modeling technique is suggested to construct a diagnosis model of coke oven combustion control. Based on the measured input-output data pairs, the fuzzy rules are generated and the parameters are tuned by the PSO(Particle Swarm Optimizer) to increase the accuracy of the fuzzy system is operated. This system computes the proper amount of gas input taking the operation conditions of coke oven into account, and compares the computed result with the supplied gas input.

  • The optimal byproduct gas supply system was developed for the optimal management of the byproduct gases in the iron and steel making process based on EXCEL environment. It supplies optimal byproduct gas distribution result as well as analysis including expected electricity generation, holder level change, amount of oil consumption, energy distribution to each boiler, and efficiency of energy resource.   • Steam Reforming H2 Generation (SRH2G) System is a chemical process to produce hydrogen through steam reforming of hydrocarbon. Largely speaking, there are two types of materials for the SRH2G: 1) Oil and coal, and 2)Natural Gas such as shale gas. From the perspective of cost, quality (purity), and environmental burden (pollution), the latter is much more desirable than the former. For this reason, research on SRH2G using natural gas is actively carried out, and implemented and operated in the various industry. In this paper, we develop a natural gas based SRH2G system via systems engineering approach. Specifically, we first derived stakeholder requirements, followed by systems requirements and finally system architecture via a tailored SE process for plant (called Plant Systems Engineering (PSE) process) based on ISO/IEC 15288. The developed method was applied to iron and steel plant as a case study. Through the case study, by the SE approach, we were convinced that a successful system satisfying stakeholders' requirements within the given constraints can be developed, verified and validated.

  • In steel making plant, sampling system for raw material such as iron ore, limestone is necessary for quality control purpose. For the sake of efficiency and productivity, automation of the sampling system is highly desirable. From technical standpoint, the development of the automated system requires multi-disciplinary domain knowledge such as mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, information technology and computer engineering. Up to present time, the development has been mainly carried out by a single domain expert with project manager. The automated system developed in this way caused problems in the final system. This paper suggests a systems engineering approach to the development of automation for raw material sampling plant via a tailored process called Plant Systems Engineering (PSE) Process based on ISO/IEC 15288. Through the PSE process, we could derive right requirements and architecture of the Systems Of Interest (SOI), and we were convinced that the PSE Process can be applied to many other Plant Systems.
