  • 최근 전력계통의 과부하, 전압안정도 등의 문제에 대한 해결책으로 FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission Systems)가 대두되고 있다. FACTS 설비에는 TCSC (Thyristor-Controlled Series Capacitor), SSSC (Static Synchronous Series Capacitor)와 같은 직렬 기기와 SVC(Static Var Compensator), STATCOM(STATic COMpensator) 와 같은 병렬기기 그리고, 본 논문에서 다루는 UPFC와 같은 직 병렬기기로 나누어진다. UPFC는 SSSC와 STATCOM을 결합한 형태로 유 무효전력을 동시에 보상할 수 있는 FACTS 기기이다. 본 논문에서는 한전 계통의 전압안정도 향상과 과부하 해소를 위해 강진S/S에 설치예정인 80MVA UPFC의 하드웨어 특성과 주변계통의 특성을 소개하고, UPFC와 한전 계통의 연계방안과 시험방안을 설명한다.

저전력 캐쉬를 위한 웨이-라인 예측 유닛을 이용한 새로운 드로시 캐싱 기법 (New Drowsy Cashing Method by Using Way-Line Prediction Unit for Low Power Cache)

  • The goal of this research is to reduce dynamic and static power consumption for a low power cache system. The proposed cache can achieve a low power consumption by using a drowsy and a way prediction mechanism. For reducing the static power, the drowsy technique is used at 4-way set associative cache. And for reducing the dynamic energy, one among four ways is selectively accessed on the basis of information in the Way-Line Prediction Unit (WLPU). This prediction mechanism does not introduce any additional delay though prediction misses are occurred. The WLPU can effectively reduce the performance overhead of the conventional drowsy caching by waking only a drowsy cache line and one way in advance. Our results show that the proposed cache can reduce the power consumption by about 40% compared with the 4-way drowsy cache.

  • The system of synchronous generator with power static converter are analyzed in detail and the output characteristics of generator are computed by digital simulation. The power static converter is considered as 3-phase converter in which the interlude interval and the commutation interval repeats itself six times per cycle. The synchronous generator is considered as a direct-phase quantities model for a more exact study of the performance. As the numerical method for nonlinear differential equations of the system, the Runge -Kutta method is used.

  • The large-eddy simulation(LES) was carried out to evaluate the drag and static pressure acting on the blade surface of a small-size axial fan(SSAF) under the condition of unsteady-state, incompressible fluid and three-dimensional coordination. The axial component of drag coefficient increases with the increase of operating load, but the radial components have negligible sizes regardless of operating loads. Otherwise, the static pressures acting on the blade surfaces of SSAF show different distributions around the operating point of D equivalent to the stall. Also, with the increase of operating load, the static pressures acting on the pressure and suction surfaces of blade concentrate at the tips and leading-edges as a whole.

  • In recent years inverter power sources are more and more used for resistance welding processes. In this paper some results of investigation into the static and dynamic behavior of high-current rectifier diodes used in these inverter power sources will be discussed. By means of digital simulation, losses and efficiency have been determined depending on the power semiconductor parameters.

  • A Small-size axial fan(SSAF) has widely been utilized to circulate a cooling air in a refrigerator, etc. Generally, the aerodynamic performance of SSAF is strongly dependent upon the depth between SSAF and bellmouth, and it includes axial, partially stalled, mostly stalled and radial flow regions according to the flow coefficient. In this study, four kinds of bellmouth depths were considered to analyze the aerodynamic performance of SSAF. As a bellmouth depth increases, a maximum flowrate decreases, but a maximum static pressure increases. Also, stall region includes an inflection point in all aerodynamic performance curves. Finally, a static pressure efficiency shows the maximum value of 37%.

  • This paper presents a comparative operating characteristics of static var compensator(SVC) and static synchronous compensator(STATCOM) for compensating the reactive power in the Jeju power system. There are two kinds of reactive power compensating systems, which are active and passive system in the applications of the line commutated converter type high voltage direct current (LCC-HVDC). In the Jeju power system, two STATCOMs as active compensating system have been operating. Even though STATCOM has good performance compared with SVC, economical efficiency of former system is not good to the latter system. So, it is necessary to examine the performance and economical efficiency depend on the intention before appling the system. To compare the operating characteristics of two systems in the Jeju power system, simulations have been carried out for case studies that both of the HVDC system have transient state by using PSCAD/EMTDC program.

  • In this paper, we propose a method to develop a static equivalent model of an inverter-based distributed energy resource (DER), where the model is used for a steady-state fault analysis of a power grid. First, we introduce the characteristics of an inverter-based DER as well as its general configuration. Then, we derive the equivalent model of the DER on the basis of the characteristics. Last, the performance of the proposed method is proven by the results of computer simulations.

  • Distributed Flexible AC Transmission System(D-FACTS) was proposed as a solution for weakness of FACTS device s. The D-FACTS device DSSC(Distributed Static Series Co mpensator) can provide controllable reactance compensation in transmission line such as SSSC(Static Synchronous Series Compensator). This paper introduce the algorithm of reactive power injection on DSSC and propose the method of current balancing by reactive power injection. The proposed algorithm has been verified with simulation and experiment results.

  • The static inverter is mainly used to provide with the electric power of various loads in the train. In the recent european projects, the specification of static inverter become harder, and many additional service function is expected. It takes long time and high cost to develope a static inverter with these high performances and additional function. But, these are became general demands for static inverter in the many projects from now on. The APSE(Auxiliary Power Supply Equipment) is a static inverter of high performance to satisfy the severe specification and various service function following these tendency for Athens project In this paper, the specification of APSE and various service functions are introduced to look about current tendencies of static inverter.
