향판용(響板用) 관행수종(慣行樹種)과 대체가능수종(代替可能樹種)의 자유진동적(自由振動的) 성질(性質)에 관한 연구(硏究) (Studies on The Free Vibrational Properties of Traditional and Replaceable Species for Sounding Board)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the free vibrational properties of traditional and replaceable species for sounding board, using piezoelectrical accelerometer and signal analyzer. In the study, the frequency equations of free-free beam carrying a concentrated mass in the transverse vibration and of free-mass beam in the longitudinal vibration were used. The results obtained were as follows. 1. Average values of dynamic modulus of rigidity of Korean commercial species measured were as follows. Paulownia tomatosa (Thunb.) Steudel: $5.590\times10^9\;dyne/cm^2$ Tilia amurensis Rupr.: $5.414\times10^9\;dyne/cm^2$ Macckia amurensis Rupr.: $10.044\times10^9\;dyne/cm^2$ Fraxinus mandshurica Rupr.: $8.876\times10^9\;dyne/cm^2$ Ulmus davidiana var.japonica Nakai: $8.677\times10^9\;dyne/cm^2$ Pinus rigida Miller: $6.33\times10^9\;dyne/cm^2$ Fraxinus rhynchophylla Hance: $4.666\times10^9\;dyne/cm^2$ 2. The ratio of dynamic transverse Young's modulus to dynamic modulus of rigidity, $E_T/G_{LT}$, was 24.922 for Fraxinus rhynchophylla Hance, which was the highest, 7.317 for Paulownia tomentosa (Thunb.) Steudel, which was the lowest among Korean commercial species measured. 3. The value of longitudinal dynamic Young's modulus was about 3.7% and 19.8%, respectively, higher than those of transverse dynamic and static Young's modulus. The value of transverse dynamic Young's modulus was about 15.5% higher than that of static Young's modulus. 4. Predicted value of MOR in terms of correlation coefficient by transverse dynamic Young's modulus was slightly higher than that of static Young's modulus, but no significance was found out. 5. Transverse dynamic Youne's modulus was $(2.002\pm0.288)\times10^{11}\;dyne/cm^2$ for Fraxinus mandshurlca Rupr., which was the highest, $(0.601\pm0.100)\times10^{11}\;dyne/cm^2$ for Paulownia tomentosa (Thunb.) Steudel, which was the lowest among Korean commercial species measured. The sound velocity of sitka spruce was 5,685 m/sec, which was the highest. 6. Internal friction of Paulownia tomentosa (Thunb.) Steudel was shown the lowest value among Korean commercial species, $(8.795\pm1.795)\times10^{-3}$, but was higher than that of sitka spruce, $(7.331\pm0.991)\times10^{-3}$. Internal friction was shown negative correlation with density and dynamic Young's modulus, respectively. 7. K value was affected largely by internal friction and was the highest, $2.225\times10^8$ for Paulownia tomentosa (Thunb.) Steudel and was the lowest, $0.550\times10^8$ for Fraxinus rhynchophylla Hance. K value of Paulownia tomentosa (Thunb.) Steudel was higher than that of sitka spruce and K values of melapi and cottonwood, which have been considered to be replaceable species with sitka spruce in the piano industry, were lower than those of Paulownia tomentosa (Thunb.) Steudel and mill amurensis Rupr.

각종 항타공식에 의한 말뚝의 허용지지력 연구 (A Study on the Allowable Bearing Capacity of Pile by Driving Formulas)

  • The estimation of pile bearing capacity is important since the design details are determined from the result. There are numerous ways of determining the pile design load, but only few of them are chosen in the actual design. According to the recent investigation in Korea, the formulas proposed by Meyerhof based on the SPT N values are most frequently chosen in the design stage. In the study, various static and dynamic formulas have been used in predicting the allowable bearing capacity of a pile. Further, the reliability of these formulas has been verified by comparing the perdicted values with the static and dynamic load test measurements. Also in cases, these methods of pile bearing capacity determination do not take the time effect consideration, the actual allowable load as determined from pile load test indicates severe deviation from the design value. The principle results of this study are summarized as follows : A a result of estimate the reliability in criterion of the Davisson method, in was showed that Terzaghi & Peck > Chin > Meyerhof > Modified Meyerhof method was the most reliable method for the prediction of bearing capacity. Comparisons of the various pile-driving formulas showed that Modified Engineering News was the most reliable method. However, a significant error happened between dynamic bearing capacity equation was judged that uncertainty of hammer efficiency, characteristics of variable , time effect etc... was not considered. As a result of considering time effect increased skin friction capacity higher than end bearing capacity. It was found out that it would be possible to increase the skin friction capacity 1.99 times higher than a driving. As a result of considering 7 day's time effect, it was obtained that Engineering News. Modified Engineering News.   • IVarious driving mechanisms to adapt to uneven environment have been developed for many urban search and rescue (USAR) missions. A tracked mechanism has been widely used to maintain the stability of robot's pose and to produce large traction force on uneven terrain in this research area. However, it has a drawback of low energy efficiency due to friction force when rotating. Moreover, single tracked mechanism can be in trouble when the body gets caught with high projections, so the track doesn't contact on the ground. A transformable tracked mechanism is proposed to solve these problems. The mechanism is designed with several articulations surrounded by tracks, used to generate an attack angle when the robot comes near obstacles. The stair climbing ability of proposed robot was analyzed since stairs are one of the most difficult obstacles in USAR mission. Stair climbing process is divided into four separate static analysis phases. Design parameters are optimized according to geometric limitations from the static analysis. The proposed mechanism was produced from optimized design parameters, and demonstrated in artificially constructed uneven environment and the actual stairway.

  • The purpose of this study is to compare the predictive behaviors of the extended $k-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence model and the standard $k-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence model. Grid dependency is tested with the H-type grid and the O-type grid. Computations have been performed for a circular-to-rectangular transition duct. Numerical results for several sections along the streamwise have been obtained to compare with experimental results. The Reynolds number is 390,000 based on the bulk velocity at the inlet. The computed axial velocity contours, transverse velocity profiles, static pressure contours, peripheral skin friction coefficient, and peripheral wall static pressure distributions have been compared with experimental results. The computed results obtained with the extended $k-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence model show better agreement with experimental results than those obtained with the standard $k-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence model. Comparing to the computed results obtained with the H-type grid and O-type grid, those with H-type grid agree well with experimental results.

  • The present works are the theoretical results of the study to develope a damping flexible coupling which has a high performance of control for the torsional vibrations of power shafts in a large machinery. It is established the analysis scheme of the multiple-leaf spring, to obtain the static coefficient of stiffness of the coupling. Also, the dynamic coefficient of stiffness and the damping coefficient of the coupling are indentified through the flow analysis for a induced flow of working fluid by the deflection of multiple-leaf springs. This paper dealt with damping contributions by the friction between each plate of the multiple-leaf spring. In this paper, it is found that the dynamic characteristics of the damping flexible coupling are strongly dependent on the stiffness and the number of the multiple-leaf spring, and also vary with the viscosity of working fluid and the vibration speed of the inner star.

패드 수의 변화가 대형 틸팅패드 저어널 베어링의 정특성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Pad Number on the Static Performances of Large Tilting Pad Journal Bearings)

  • In this paper, thermohydrodynamic characteristics of large tilting pad journal bearings which have $3\~8$ tilting pads were numerically analyzed. The turbulent lubrication equation and the energy equation were solved. The regime of operation of this bearing is laminar, turbulent and transitional. Also viscosity of working fluid was considered as function of only temperature and inlet pressure build-up was considered. Numerical results for a large tilting pad journal bearing showed pressure distribution, temperature distribution, eccentricity ratio, and friction torque. The effects of pad number on the static performances of a large tilting pad journal bearing are discussed.

  • In this study, the dynamic characteristics of the spool type counter balance valve are studied. The nonlinear governing differential eguations are derived. Routh-Hurwitz criterion is used to characterize the linearized eguations. Static and dynamic experiments are carried out for the determination of parameters that are necessary for the analysis and the stability of the system.

  • Dynamic deformation of the cylinder bore during actual engine operation has an important effect on the combustion gas sealing, oil consumption, friction and so on. The dynamic analysis using the finite element method is performed to investigate the dynamic deformation of the cylinder bore subjected to forced vibration under excitation of the combustion gas pressure. However, this analysis requires large computer memory and tremendous solving time. The pseudo-static analysis can be an alternative to the dynamic analysis at the expense of accuracy. Dynamic analysis and static analysis results are presented for both closed-deck block and open-deck block that are respectively combined with the cylinder block, cylinder head, transmission, and oil pan.

  • This paper presents the method of Rate of Loading(ROL) improvement for the Motor Operated Gate Valve operating in high differential pressure condition. The character of ROL and Stem Factor is analyzed. Static test and dynamic test were performed and acquired the diagnosis signal for the valve closing stroke. The result of this study is the modification of stem factor is very important factor for the ROL improvement. In order to obtain the same value of dynamic test thread friction coefficient stem and stem nut should be combined appropriately.
