  • We consider the stabilization problem for a class of networked control systems with neutral type of time delays. The neutral type of time-delays occur in controller-to-actuator and sensor-to-controller. The Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model is employed to represent a nonlinear system with neutral type of time-delays. The stabilization via state-feedback is first addressed, and delay-range-dependent stabilization conditions are proposed in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally, an application example will be given to show the merits and design a procedure of the proposed approach.

  • This paper presents an $H^{\infty}$ controller design method for linear time-invariant systems with delayed state and control. Using the second method of Lyapunov, the stability for delayed systems is discussed. For delayed systems, we derive a sufficient condition of the bounded real lemma(BRL) which is similar to BRL for nondelayed systems. And the sufficient conditions for the existence of an output feedback $H^{\infty}$ controller of any order are given in terms of three linear matrix inequalities(LMls). Futhermore, we briefly explain how to construct such controllers from the positive definite solutions of their LMIs and give a simple example to illustrate the validity of the proposed design procedure.e.

  • In this paper, we present a robust $H^{\infty}$ controller design method for parameter uncertain time-varying systems with disturbance and that have time-varying delays in both state and control. It is found that the problem shares the same formulation with the $H^{\infty}$ control problem for systems without uncertainty. Through a certain differential Riccati inequality approach, a class of stabilizing continuous controller is proposed. For parameter uncertainties, disturbance and time varying delays, proposed controllers the plant and guarantee an $H^{\infty}$ norm bound constraint on disturbance attenuation for all admissible uncertainties. Finally a numerical example is given to demonstrate the validity of the results.ts.

  • In this paper, we present an output feedback $H^\infty$controller design method and derive the sufficient condition of the bounded real lemma for linear systems with multiple delays in states. For state delayed systems, sufficient conditions for the existence $\kappa$-th order $H^\infty$controllers are given in terms of three linear matrix inequalities(LMIs). Furthermore, we show how to construct such controllers from the positive definite solutions of their LMIs and given an example to illustrate the validitiy of the proosed design procedure.

  • In this paper, we present a non-fragile guaranteed cost control design method for uncertain nonlinear systems with time varying delays in state and control input, even though the controller gain is perturbed. The uncertain nonlinear term in the systems is norm bounded and the linear matrix inequality(LMI) optimization method is employed as a stability analysis of the systems. We design a robust controller and show the asymptotical stability of uncertain time-varying systems based on Lyapunov method. Also, we guarantee a specific level of performance of the systems. The simulations are carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • To stabilize closed-loop wireless control systems, the state-of-the-art approach receives the individual sensor measurements at the controller and then sends the computed control signal to the actuators. We propose an over-the-air controller scheme where all sensors attached to the plant transmit scaled sensing signals simultaneously to the actuator, and the actuator then computes the feedback control signal by scaling the received signal. The over-the-air controller essentially adopts the over-the-air computation concept to compute the control signal for closed-loop wireless control systems. In contrast to the state-of-the-art sensor-to-controller and controller-to-actuator communication approach, the over-the-air controller exploits the superposition properties of multiple-access wireless channels to complete the communication and computation of a large number of sensing signals in a single communication resource unit. Therefore, the proposed scheme can obtain significant benefits in terms of low actuation delay and low resource utilization with a simple network architecture that does not require a dedicated controller.

  • This paper researches a modeling and experiment of 50kW diesel generator in grid-connected mode. The output of diesel generator can be calculated by the phase difference between voltage and current as well as the diesel generator parameter such as mutual impedance, field current and rotor angle. Considering the different d-q frame impedance, the output of diesel generator is analyzed for equation and verified by simulation. The diesel generator modeled by considering the time delay for actuator, diesel engine and exciter. The controller of diesel generator is divided into governor and exciter. The governor consists of speed controller and active power controller, where speed controller maintains frequency as 60Hz and active power tracks active power reference. On the other hand, the exciter consists of voltage controller and reactive power controller, where voltage controller controls $380V_{LL}$ and reactive power is controlled as zero. When the active power reference is changed as 0.1pu in the grid connected mode, the active power takes 10 seconds to reach the steady state and the reactive power is maintains as zero. The 50kW diesel generator is tested and experiment results are well matched with the simulation results.

  • The steam superheater and the steam pressure systems are time delay systems that have poles near the origin in the left half plane or a pure integrator. Smith predictor can't be applied to these systems any more, because of occurring the steady state error for the step disturbance. In this paper, a new Smith predictor controller for the steam superheater and the steam pressure is proposed. A disturbance observer to estimate an input disturbance and a new controller to eliminate an effect of a disturbance are proposed. The computer simulation results are shown the efficiency of the proposed system.

  • The direct drive servo valve(DDV) is composed of a DC rotor, link, valve spool and displacement sensor(LVDT) where the spool is directly coupled to the DC motor through the link. Since the DDV is a kind of one-stage valve, the robust controller is required to overcome the flow force effect on the spool motion. The mathematical equations are derived and the stability, accuracy and response speed of a DDV are investigated analytically using a linearized system block diagram. Proportional control, PID control. Time-Delay control, Sliding Mode control, and Proportional control using the load pressure are applied to DDV to find which one shows the best control performance. The digital computer simulation results show that the proportional control using the load pressure satisfies the design requirement of response speed and steady state error regardless of the variation of load pressure,

  • In this paper, we present a simple auto-tuning PID controller using genetic algorithms. The basic idea of the scheme is to parameterize a Ziegler-Nichols-like tuning formula by a single parameter ${\alpha}$, then to use GA to select optimal tuning parameter. Also, simple rule mechanisms make the controller adapt against large variations in parametric and dynamics uncertainties in the plant. These scheme lead to improved performance of the transient and steady state behavior of the closed loop system, including processes with long delay-time and nonminimum phase systems.
