제주계통에서 동기조상기 기동에 따른 전압안정도 영향 검토 (Analysis of Impact on Voltage Stability by Starting Synchronous Condenser in Jeju AC Network)

  • Two old synchronous condensers in Jeju are being replaced by new machines to operate Jeju AC network with Haenam-Jeju HVDC system stably. Before new synchronous condensers operate on site, voltage stability analysis is conducted to verify stable operation of jeju AC network. Through impedance analysis of the synchronous machine, transformer and ac network, the equivalent circuit is constructed and the voltage drop during start-up is calculated. Then, PSS/E fault analysis is performed to acquire short-circuit capacity according to the generator operation scenarios. Voltage variation when starting synchronous condenser is simulated in PSCAD/EMTDC and satisfies the operating condition of jeju AC network and HVDC #1 system.

  • In this paper, we developed remote dimming control system of electronic ballast for 400W metal halide lamp. This ballast could limit ignition current and soft start-up technique by the inverter with LCsCp resonance tank. The dimming circuit can dim from 400W to 200W by varying of the inverter switching frequency. The PLM consists of coupling circuit, BPF(Band-Pass Filter), FSK(Frequency Shift Keying) Modem and ${\mu}$-controller(Micro Controller). By coupling electronic ballast with PLM, the system that able to dimming the lamp through PLM is demonstrated by experimental results.

장제전류회로를 갖는 타려식 인버터를 이용한 유도적 성질 (Induction Motor Drive Using a Line Commutated Inverter with a Forced-Commutated Circuit)

  • This paper describes the variable speed drive of an induction motor by the line commutated inverter, which is operated in the forced commutation mode from start-up to operating point of load commutation. A novel forced-commutation circuit is proposed in this paper. The selection range of leading condenser to decide load commutation starting point is simulated by the sampling data of a general purpose IM and a high speed IM. The experiment to drive IM by a line commutated inverter with the proposed forced commutated circuits is performed. There was no problem in driving IM from standstill to starting point of load commutation by a line commutated inverter with forced commutation.

  • According to the rapid growth of high speed and precise industry, the application of synchronous motor has been increased. In the application fields, the large synchronous motor is not a self-starting motor. The rotor is heavy and, from a dead stop, it is impossible to bring the rotor into magnetic lock with the rotating magnetic field for this reason, all synchronous motor have some kinds of starting device. A simple starter is another motor which brings the rotor up to approximately 96 percent of it synchronous speed. The starting motor is disconnected and the rotor locks in step with the rotating field. The more commony used starting method is to have the rotor to include a squirrel cage indution winding. This indution winding brings the rotor almost to synchronous speed as an induction motor. So, this paper describes excessive condition interpretation of a exciter circuit to prevent starting failure of large synchronous motor. the large synchronous motor needs safety of it in accordance with operating frequent start and stop. the operating Problem point of synchronous motor appears potential element damage of Exciter circuit because synchronous motor is caused synchronous separation. hence we eliminate it and improve starting toque.

  • SRM은 각종 산업분야에서 토크 리플과 소음 진동, 낮은 역률로 인하여 실제 적용에는 어려움이 있고 구동을 하기 위해서는 회전자위치 정보를 위한 센서가 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 전압펄스 주입방식을 이용한 센서리스 방식을 제안하였다. 기존 전압펄스 주입방식의 문제점인 위상지연 문제와 기존 센서리스 방식의 어려움이라 할 수 있는 초기구동 문제를 제안하였다. 또한 고성능 마이크로프로세서를 사용한 복잡한 연산과정 없이 단순한 범용 아날로그 소자만으로도 간단히 센서리스 방식을 구현하였다.

고효율 5A용 동기식 DC-DC Buck 컨버터 (High Efficiency 5A Synchronous DC-DC Buck Converter)

  • This paper presents high efficiency 5A synchronous DC-DC buck converter. The proposed DC-DC buck converter works from 4.5V to 18V input voltage range, and provides up to 5A of continuous output current and output voltage adjustable down to 0.8V. This chip is packaged MCP(multi-chip package) with control chip, top side P-CH switch, and bottom side N-CH switch. This chip is designed in a 25V high voltage CMOS 0.35um technology. It has a maximum power efficiency of up to 94% and internal 3msec soft start and fixed 500KHz PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) operations. It also includes cycle by cycle current limit function, short and thermal shutdown protection circuit at 150℃. This chip size is 2190um*1130um includes scribe lane 10um.

  • 제안하는 컨버터는 부스트 하프브리지-전압 더블러를 각각 병렬-직렬로 연결하여 출력전력 및 출력전압을 증대시키므로 고승압 대전력 응용에서 소자의 선정이 용이하다. 특히 고주파변압기 턴 비를 작게 할 수 있고 DC 오프셋이 제거되어 최적의 변압기 설계가 가능하며, 3개의 코아로 전력이 분배되어 Low Profile 및 열 분산에 유리하다. 제안하는 컨버터는 전 영역(0 ∼ 1)의 듀티 사용으로 스타트업 및 추가의 클램프회로가 필요 없으며 입력전압 변동이 큰 응용에 적합하다. 또한 넓은 듀티영역에서 스위치의 ZVS 턴온과 다이오드의 ZCS 턴온 턴오프가 성취되므로 고효율을 달성할 수 있다. 제안하는 컨버터를 5 kW급 시작품으로 검증하였다.

LLC 공진형 컨버터를 사용한 다용도 Nd:YAG 레이저 전원장치 설계 (Research on the Multi - purpose Nd:YAG Laser Power System using LLC Converter)

  • LLC resonant converter has been widely used because of its high efficiency and high energy density. In this paper, we designed a LLC resonant converter as the main power supply of the Nd:YAG pulse laser. First harmonic approximation (FHA) is used to model the LLC resonant converter. FHA equivalent circuit model and the transfer function of the LLC resonant converter is proposed. Soft start technology is also used to suppress the surge current. The laser output simulation test result is identical with the practical test, the laser energy of every pulse can reach up to 2.5J, and the pulse per second (PPS) can be adjusted from 6 to 18. The power system is verified stable and reliable by both of the simulation and experiment results.

  • During an AC motor's start-up accelerating period, a large amount of current is required to reach to the rating speed. This is called in-rush current. This peak in-rush current can be more than about several times the operating or steady-state current in the full load rating of the motor. In-rush current is present in both and electronic ballasts. The main area of concern is the tripping of circuit breaker and fuses which can affect electrical system components From this, we can see that the electrical power controllers will be rather concerned, since they have to supply the actual current necessary to start the motor. This paper presents a new method to reducing in-rush current and energy saving of the single-phase induction motor used in air-conditioner. It can be obtained that proposed system is low cost and small size as compared with other controller. Experiments are focused on a capacitor starting single-phase induction motor. The optimal power saving and in-rush current limiting by phase angle control are verified by experimental results. Also, auxiliary winding was controlled by electronic starting switch.

PMIC용 Zero Layer FTP Memory IP 설계 (Design of Zero-Layer FTP Memory IP)

  • 본 논문에서는 $0.13{\mu}m$ BCD 공정 기반에서 5V MOS 소자만 사용하여 zero layer FTP 셀이 가능하도록 하기 위해 tunnel oxide 두께를 기존의 $82{\AA}$에서 5V MOS 소자의 gate oxide 두께인 $125{\AA}$을 그대로 사용하였고, 기존의 DNW은 BCD 공정에서 default로 사용하는 HDNW layer를 사용하였다. 그래서 제안된 zero layer FTP 셀은 tunnel oxide와 DNW 마스크의 추가가 필요 없도록 하였다. 그리고 메모리 IP 설계 관점에서는 designer memory 영역과 user memory 영역으로 나누는 dual memory 구조 대신 PMIC 칩의 아날로그 회로의 트리밍에만 사용하는 single memory 구조를 사용하였다. 또한 BGR(Bandgap Reference Voltage) 발생회로의 start-up 회로는 1.8V~5.5V의 전압 영역에서 동작하도록 설계하였다. 한편 64비트 FTP 메모리 IP가 power-on 되면 internal reset 신호에 의해 initial read data를 00H를 유지하도록 설계하였다. $0.13{\mu}m$ Magnachip 반도체 BCD 공정을 이용하여 설계된 64비트 FTP IP의 레이아웃 사이즈는 $485.21{\mu}m{\times}440.665{\mu}m$($=0.214mm^2$)이다.
