The Behavioral Patterns of Neutral Affective State for Service Robot Using Video Ethnography (비디오 에스노그래피를 이용한 서비스 로봇의 대기상태 행동패턴 연구)

  • In recent years, a large number of robots have been developed in several countries, and these robots have been built for the purpose to appeal to users by well designed human-robot interaction. In case of the robots developed so far, they show proper reactions only when there is a certain input. On the other hands, they cannot perform in a standby mode which means there is no input. In other words, if a robot does not make any motion in standby mode, users may feel that the robot is being turned-off or even out of work. Especially, the social service robots maintain the standby status after finishing a certain task. In this period of time, if the robots can make human-like behavioral patterns such like a person in help desk, then they are expected to make people feels that they are alive and is more likely to interact with them. It is said that even if there is no interaction with others or the environment, people normally reacts to internal or external stimuli which are created by themselves such as moving their eyes or bodies. In order to create robotic behavioral patterns for standby mode, we analyze the actual facial expression and behavior from people who are in neutral affective emotion based on ethnographic methodology and apply extracted characteristics to our robots. Moreover, by using the robots which can show those series of expression and action, our research needs to find that people can feel like they are alive.

An Estimation of Appropriate Standby Space for Mechanical Parking Lot by Prediction of Parking Queue (주차대기행렬 예측을 통한 기계식 주차장 적정 대기규모 산정에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to present the appropriate standby space for the mechanical parking lot considered parking queue. This analysis is based on the field-study by results of the influential factors on the parking queue of mechanical parking lots in the commercial area of Gwang-ju metropolitan city. In this study, the parking queue was analized through the simple modeling using Vissim based on average service rate and average arrival rate from the result of field-study. As a result of applying the field survey products to the theoretical queue model, no significant result was obtained when the traffic intensity exceeded 1. Therefore, parking queue was analyzed through simple modeling using Vissim, and the model for calculating the proper parking queue size of the mechanical parking lot by size was derived. The model for estimating of an appropriate mechanical parking standby space considering parking queue presented in this study is expected to be a criterion for considering the appropriate parking space of a new building, and also it can be used to minimized the traffic impact due to the parking queue by the lack of standby space.

  • Due to reduced device sizes and threshold voltages, leakage current becomes an important issue in CMOS design. In a CMOS combinational logic circuit, the leakage current in the standby state depends on the state of the inputs and thus can be minimized by applying an optimal input when the circuit is idling. In this paper, we present a New Input Vector Control algorithm, called Leakage Minimization by Input vector Control (LMIC) for minimal leakage power. This algorithm finds the minimal leakage vector and reduces leakage current up to 22.% on the average, for TSMC 0.18um process parameters. Minimal leakage vectors are very useful in reducing leakage currents in standby mode of operation.

  • The loss of offsite power test was successfully performed on YGN 4 to demonstrate that the reactor can be shutdown and the RCS can be maintained in a hot standby condition following a loss of all offsite Alternating Current (AC) power. Following the loss of main generator and all offsite AC power, the ensile emergency diesel generators were automatically started and the plant was stabilized via natural circulation. Plant conditions were maintained in hot standby for at least 30 minutes before offsite power was restored. Thus, the capability of equipment, controls and instrumentation necessary to remove decay heat from the core using only ensile emergency power was demonstrated, thereby satisfying all objectives and acceptance criteria of the test.

  • Amusement park's indispensable facilities are dependent on electrical energy. So it is very important to ensure electrical power against fire, power failure, disaster and accident. To find out present problems, investigation was carried out for emergency and standby power systems at amusement park all over the country. We research the related regulations for Electrical facilities of internal standards and NEC. As a result, we could know that there is discrepancy between the electrical regulation and the actual condition.

  • 본 논문에서는 전기전자 기기가 외부전원에 연결된 상태에서 그 주 기능을 수행하지 않거나 내부 혹은 외부로 부터 주 기능 수행을 위한 명령을 기다리고 있는 상태에서 소모하는 대기전력(Standby Power)을 저감할 수 있는 장치를 개발하고자 하였다. 기존의 멀티탭 형대기전력 차단장치는 그 장치 자체의 소비전력이 커서 사용 의미를 퇴색시키는 문제점을 안고 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존 제품의 이러한 문제점을 보완시키고 대기전력을 획기적으로 감시킬 수 있는 멀티탭 형식의 외장형 대기전력 차단장치와 가전기기 내장형 차단장치의 회로를 설계 및 구현하고 비교 실험을 통하여 그 우수성을 확인하였다.

Design Optimization of Silicon-based Junctionless Fin-type Field-Effect Transistors for Low Standby Power Technology

  • Recently, the junctionless (JL) transistors realized by a single-type doping process have attracted attention instead of the conventional metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFET). The JL transistor can overcome MOSFET's problems such as the thermal budget and short-channel effect. Thus, the JL transistor is considered as great alternative device for a next generation low standby power silicon system. In this paper, the JL FinFET was simulated with a three dimensional (3D) technology computer-aided design (TCAD) simulator and optimized for DC characteristics according to device dimension and doping concentration. The design variables were the fin width ($W_{fin}$), fin height ($H_{fin}$), and doping concentration ($D_{ch}$). After the optimization of DC characteristics, RF characteristics of JL FinFET were also extracted.

  • This paper presents a new ventilation control model system of standby generating room installed in basement of building. The regulation problem & current status of ventilation system considered the architectural construction and building service facility procedure are also investigated. The regulation solution, ventilation control model system and its theoretical analysis for room of the generating system by driven diesel are proposed from the analyzed results of survey.
