The purpose of this study were to : a) establish quality managements standards and performance indicators in order to define the concept of the hospital food and nutrition services, b) develop a self evaluation tool for quality management applicable to dietetic department's CQI program on the basis of the estabilished quality management standers, c) investigate the factual quality of hospital food and nutrition services throught the result of the application study of the quality management tool and the perceived quality by the patients servery, and d) verify the validity of the quality management tool through analysing the correlation between the factual quality and the preceived quality. The quality management standards were classifie dinto 3 parts, 'Nutrition Care', 'Foodservice Operation', and 'Management Function'. There consisted of 72 quality management standards and 293 performance indicators. The developed quality evaluation tool using 5-Likert scale was performance at 45 general hospitals over 400 beds in Seoul and Kyungki-do. Also, 1,573 patients in 42 hospitals were participated in the patient survey. The result of quality evaluation tool application study showed that 17 standards were relatively high(more than 4.5) and 22 relatively low(less than 4.0) in score. The categorical mean scores of $\ulcorner$Nutrition Care$\lrcorner$, $\ulcorner$Foodservice Operation$\lrcorner$and $\ulcorner$Management Function$\lrcorner$ were respectively 60.7, 162.8, and 73.5 Each mean score was conversed to 81.0, 83.5, and 81.7 on the basis of 100 point scale, but the range of score was very wide between hospitals. The Cronbach's $\alpha$ was more than 0.6 in 59 quality management standards, this result verified reliability of the quality management tool was proved. The factual quality showed positive correlation with the perceived quality. Therefore, this result verified the criterion validity of the quality management tool.

The Korean railway standards (KRS), formerly managed by Korea Railroad (Korail), have been managed by the Korean Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs (ML TM). According to Korean railway safety law and its ordinances, which were established for the guarantee of railway safety, the management of KRS including enactment and revision of technical standards for railway vehicle and components, was committed to Korea Railroad Research Institute (KRRI). Currently, a total of 195 standards has been managed from the various railway applications including track, electrical, and vehicle areas. Moreover, according to the guideline on the management of KRS, the conformity of KRS with international standards is encouraged for the enlargement of international trade. In this investigation, a brief management activity of KRS and the recent activities on conformity of KRS with AAR standards on automatic coupler will be introduced.

According to Korean railway safety law, which were established for the guarantee of railway safety, the management of KRS including enactment and revision of technical standards for railway vehicle and components, was committed to Korea Railroad Research Institute (KRRI). In this paper, the detailed master plan for the management of KRS will be introduced for the effective management of KRS, and KRS management direction for the future will be suggested.

In the knowledge and network economy, standards and standardization become an important factor in determining the competitiveness of nations and firms. This paper analyses some cases of firms' strategic standardization. We defined the concept of standards, standardization, strategic standardization, and standardization management, which have been unfamiliar in the academic society. The standardization strategy can be categorized into four types according to firm's management objectives or benefits, including technological innovation, market creation/extension. cost-down, and accreditation. This classification of standardization strategy is very useful in analysing the various kinds of the cases of strategic standardization implementation. We found that standards and standardization have a positive influence on firm's overall performance. In some cases, for example, Dell Computer, Sun Microsystems, Deere & Company, etc., strategic standardization plays a role as a key success factor(KSF).

In this study, a SQL practice model for understanding EMR certification standards and data management practice for healthcare information managers was presented. This study is to practice prescription information management for the functionality of EMR certification standards through the health and medical information management practice program. The data management practice according to the EMR certification criteria consists of medicaiton master management and medicaiton name inquiry, medicaiton prescription inquiry, previous medication prescription inquiry after converting medical care information, examintaion result inquiry when administering medicine, examination prescription records inquiry. Additionally, dietary prescription records, other prescription records, return reason inquiry when administering medicine is stopped are included. Accordingly, using the prescription management database of the MS-ACCESS-based health care information management education system, a SQL statement was written that can inquire the contents of the prescription information management certification standards. In the EMR certification practice, you can understand the certification standards more easily by directly extracting the query items required by the certification standards using SQL and it will be possible to improve the data management and information generation ability to extract data other than the certification standards.

Through this study on utilization of de facto standards for national standards, it is researched that major de facto standards bodies status and domestic industrial fields which need utilization of de facto standards for national standards. Through overseas Case, effective usage of de facto standards will be obtained.

The objectives of this study is to develop a strategy for the adoption of BPM(Business Process Management) standards and an implementation guideline of the BPM standard for BPM solution developers focusing on BPEL(Business Process Execution Language) which is regarded as the most important BPM standard. In the heterogeneous and distributed IT environments, every type of enterprise software requires standards to enhance interoperability. BPMS(Business Process Management System), which is a type of enterprise software requires BPM standards such as BPEL(Business Process Execution Language), BPMN(Business Process Modeling and Notation), BPQL(Business Process Query Language) and so on to achieve multi-system interoperability and component interoperability with their BPM solutions. It is quite helpful to provide the adoption strategy concerning BPM standards for each type of BPM solution vendors who need the BPM standards. Since the BPEL is conceived as the most important BPM standard and widely adopted by many BPM vendors, we have proposed a reference architecture for BPEL implementation and also developed the detail implementation guideline of core components of the BPM system supporting the BPEL standard. Using the strategy and implementation guideline proposed in this work, BPM solution vendors can establish their own standard adoption strategy and they can also develop their BPM solutions supporting the BPM standards more efficiently.

This study analyzes the present state of disaster management system in Korea and the international standardization trend of disaster management systems in advanced nations. ISO has developed international disaster management standards in ISO/TC 223 Societal Security Technical Committee, and the advanced nations such as U.S.A., U.K. and Japan are in competition with each others to reflect their national disaster management standards in international standardization. Each disaster management organization in Korea separately carries on the disaster management standardization and activities because national standards for the disaster management is not established yet. The national standardization efforts for disaster management system have to be executed in Korea to raise efficiency in disaster management activities and to cope with the international standardization of disaster management.

This study has analyzed city plans and disaster prevention plans from the perspective of resilience and established a direction of the development of city safety standards. The analysis made use of the 5 functions of resilience (5Rs) and foreign cases. As a result of the analysis, the direction of the development of city safety standards was drawn from 4 perspectives at large. First, this study proposed a method of the systematization of the safety standards involved in components within city plans. Second, it suggested a method to strengthening urban resilience abilities in terms of the association between disaster prevention and city plans. Third, it found out components requiring safety standards considering foreign and other standards, and proposed a direction of complementary measures for safety standards. Lastly, it came up with a direction of the development of city safety standards, the necessity of which are required though existing plan criteria did not contain them. This study is significant in that it has defined the ultimate goal of safety a city should pursue as resilience and proposed a direction of the development of related standards.
