A Study on 3D Tunnel Data Model for Integrated Map of Underground Spaces (지하공간통합지도의 3차원 터널 데이터 모델에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to design a tunnel part model for underpass and subway lines that correspond to tunnel sector among the underground facilities(structure types) covered in the integrated map of underground spaces. For this purpose, we compared and reviewed the characteristics of international standards related to tunnel data models. As a result, it was found that CityGML 3.0 - Tunnel module was the most suitable for designing a 3D tunnel data model. Afterwards we reviewed the legal and institutional regulations to derive the standard elements of the 3D tunnel data model. Then we conducted a demand survey targeting experts in related fields to derive standard elements for addition and extension of underpasses and subway lines. Based on the above process, we designed and presented a 3D tunnel data model using UML. This study is expected to be meaningful as a basic study to improve the utilization of tunnel model in the integrated map of underground spaces.

  • To assess the stability of a slope and the likelihood of its loss or collapse requires information about the ground, such as the composition of the stratum and its mechanical characteristics. This information is generally gathered through standard penetration testing (SPT) and cone penetration testing. SPT is not widely used due to problems with accessing slopes, most of which are steep and without ramps. A drop cone penetrometer, a portable device that can make up for these shortcomings, can be used in a limited way in some circumstances. Therefore, we developed a portable drilling machine and a small dynamic cone penetration test module that can easily access a slope site and perform SPT. The correlation of the developed system's results with those from SPT was analyzed. Analysis of the correlation between the energy shear rate passing to the load during the different test types established that the energy shear rate is reflected in the test result. The correlation between corrected dynamic cone penetration testing and corrected SPT was Nd' = 3.13 N'.

  • Since the national standard topographic map is made by DXF format which is the results of the National Geographic Information System project and lots of CAD data and scanners can be used to acquire the data easily, the imports of existing DXF file will decrease the costs and time for data acquisition process. In addition, the spatial data such as topographic map should be able to convert to the middle file format such as PostScript in order to be exported into other systems. For this purpose, I design and implement three units of modules, which are File Manipulation Module, MVF Import Module, and MVF Export Module. Finally, I verify the actual transformation of topographic map that are DXF file format by conducting the series of tests.

Remote Measuring System for Automobile′s ECU Self Diagnostic Signal (자동차 ECU 자기진단 신호의 원격계측 시스템)

  • In this paper. we present a new method for monitoring of ECU's self diagnostic signals of vehicle without wire. In order to measure the ECU's self diagnostic signals, the interfaced circuit is designed to communicate ECU and designed terminal according to the IOS, SAE regulation of communication protocol standard. Micro-processor 80C196KC is used for communicating ECU's self diagnositc signals and the results are sent to the wireless terminal and PC monitoring system. Wireless terminal is also developed by 80C196KC, LCD, RF module, and keypad. The command from the keypad is sent to ECU through RF module and the result show on the Graphic LCD in real time. Software on PC is developed to monitor the ECU's self diagnostic signals using the Visual C++ complier in which RS232 port is programmed by half duplex method. The algorithms for measuring the ECU's self diagnostic signals are verified to monitor both ECU and portable terminal state. At the same time, the information to fix the vehicle's problem can be shown on the developed software. The possibility for remote measurement of ECU self diagnostic signal is verified through the developed systems and algorithms.

  • NCS is the nation-wide standard designed to standardize and systematize the capability(knowledge, technology and attitude) required for personnel to undertake their task in industrial site according to industry field and level of the task. In order to cope with rapidly changing labor market, individual has to be equipped with ability required for each relevant duty field. And company also requires worker to have basic working ability, professional knowledge or technical capability for relevant duty. Especially, the core competency, a fundamental element for all tasks, has been recognized as critical part not just in social level but also in company level. In that sense, the necessity of adding the core competence into regular education program has been vastly demanded. This study mainly deals with development of NCS-based learning module for information capability that most of industrial field want their employee to be equipped as basic skill. And, in particular, education achievement analysis for computer application capability, a subordinate capabilities of information capability, and its application method are mainly described.

Development of a Solid State Ion Sensor Module for Analysis of Hydroponic Nutrients (수경재배용 배양액의 이온성분 분석을 위한 고체형 센서 모듈 개발)

  • A solid state ion sensor module has been developed and evaluated for hydroponic nutrients analysis. The sensor module consisted of five ion-selective electrodes (ISE) fabricated by screen-printing technology. The electrochemical responses of ion sensors for nitrate, ammonium, potassium, calcium, and pH were measured with specially designed 7-channel low voltage signal transducers. The analytical characteristics of the sensors were comparable with those of conventional ISE sensors. The solid state ion sensors exhibit linear relationships over five concentration decades. Detection limit of the sensors were $5.6{\times}10^{-5}{\sim}1.6{\times}10^{-7}M$ depends on ions. Performance test results showed that relative errors of measured ion concentrations were less than 5% for $NO_3{^-},\;K^+,\;Ca^{2+}$ ion, and pH. The concentration of $NO_3{^-},\;NH_4{^+},\;K^+,\;Ca^{2+}$, and pH ion in standard solution and nutrient solutions could be determined by direct potentiometric measurements without any conditioning before measurements.

  • The tiny camera module used in a modern cellular phone requires precise assembly processes. To meet the requirement of high resolution and functionality, the number of parts used in a camera module becomes larger and larger. As the market grows rapidly, an automatic camera phone assembly process is required. However, diverse production line and short life cycle make it difficult to build an affordable assembly line. To attack this problem, a flexible and expandable lens assembly system is proposed. To save the manufacturing line set-up time, modular concept is adopted. Also, each module is designed to have intelligence to simplify the set-up process. The assembly system is built up on the standard flat-form that includes a vibration free base, air and electric supplies, and electronic controllers, etc. Furthermore, the assembly cell has the capability of handling tiny, thin, or transparent parts which are very difficult to identify without machine vision.

  • This paper presents the remote measurement of the ECU signals adopted with KWP 2000 protocol using the wireless communication technique of bluetooth. The bluetooth technology will be the most promising network paradigm which can open the new area in the information technology. Especially, bluetooth module is able to link all the electrical products and personal computers to cellular phone or PDA. This research has a try to design a wireless measurement model of ECU signal based on the car telemery system using bluetooth device. In order to measure the ECU signals, we designed the interface circuits which is able to communicate between the ECU system and the terminal circuits according to the ISO, SAE regulation of communication protocol standard. A microprocessor S3c341 OX is used for the system control and communication of ECU signals. The embedded system software is programmed to measure the ECU signals using the ARM compiler and ANCI C based on Micro/OS-II kernel to communicate between two bluetooth modules using bluetooth stack. The remote measurement of ECU signals using the bluetooth was designed and implemented to evaluate the performance of wireless network to the transmit measurement data. The possibility for the remote measurement of the self diagnosis signals of ECU adopted with KWP2000 protocol verified through the developed systems and algorithms in embedded system.

  • In this paper, we present a new method for the monitoring of Electric Control Unit's(ECU) self-diagnostic and the sensor signals of vehicle through Web. In order to measure the ECU's self-diagnostic and sensor signals, the interfaced circuit is designed to communicate ECU and terminal according to the ISO, SAE regulation of communication protocol standard. Microprocessor 80C196KC is used for communicating ECU's self-diagnostic signals and the results are sent to the Embedded Linux System(ELS) through RF module. ELS is developed by SA1110, RF module, Embedded Linux. All commands related in ECU communication are executed through Web. The CGI program composed in web server is executed by user and will return sensor signals from ECU Software on Embedded Linux system is developed to monitor the ECU's sensor signals using the arm compiler tool chain in which RS232 port is programmed by half duplex method. The possibility for remote measurement of ECU sensor signal through Web is verified through the developed systems and algorithms.

  • Solar Air Systems (SAS) have unique advantages for space heating and tempering ventilation air. Air, unlike water, needs no protection against freezing nor are leaks damaging to the building structure or its contents. In contrast to glazed collector, unglazed steel solar collector may have higher efficiencies over glazed flat collector due to the absence of the glass. Therefore, the monitoring of SAS is so important to evaluate actual performance of SAS for right applications. This study is to provide a testing method with a movable test cell developed in KIER to evaluate the thermal performance of SAS based on international standard method ASHRAE 93-86, "Method of Testing to Determine the Thermal Performance of Solar Collectors". The monitoring tool used advanced technique LabVIEW 6i with portable notebook computer. Sample results have been obtained to access the performance of a reference and a target SAS module. The process and tool introduced here could be used to provide a performance verification data for future implementation study applications.
