Secondary optical system designed for LED bulb which emits light in all directions was simulated with Energy Star standards. Components of the optical system were LED light source, the cover of the LED bulb and reflector which is to confirm the diffuser plate and LightTools software was used to design the illumination optics. The main points of the secondary optical system design are the location of the LED light source, the shape of the LED bulb cover, the location of the reflection plate, and the scattering properties of the diffusing plate. Mechanism of the LED bulb is that the light emitted from the light source move on to the backward after reflected by the coated light cover from the inside and then the reflected light is scattered by the diffuser plate. The LED bulb was designed to satisfy the standard light distribution and color specifications of the Energy Star(IES LM-79-08).

New real-time confocal microscopy using spectral encoding technique and slit confocal aperture is proposed and designed. Spectral encoding technique, which encodes one-dimensional spatial information of a specimen in wavelength, and slit aperture make it possible to obtain two-dimensional lateral image of the specimen simultaneously at standard video rates without expensive scanning units such as polygon mirrors and galvano mirrors. The working principle and the configuration of the system are explained. The variation in axial responses for the simplified model of the system with normalized slit width is numerically analyzed based on the wave optics theory. Slit width that directly affects the depth discrimination of the system is determined by a compromise between axial resolution and signal intensity from the simulation result. On the assumption of the lateral sampling resolution of 50 nm, design variables and governing equations of the system are derived. The system is designed to have the mapping error less than the half pixel size, to be diffraction-limited and to have the maximum illumination efficiency. The designed system has the FOV of $12.8um{\times}9.6um$, the theoretical axial FWHM of 1.1 um and the lateral magnification of-367.8.

Vision-based Human Pose Estimation has been considered as one of challenging research subjects due to problems including confounding background clutter, diversity of human appearances and illumination changes in scenes. To tackle these problems, we propose to use a new multi-stage convolution machine for estimating human pose. To provide better heatmap prediction of body joints, the proposed machine repeatedly produces multiple predictions according to stages with receptive field large enough for learning the long-range spatial relationship. And stages are composed of various modules according to their strategic purposes. Pyramid stacking module and dilation module are used to handle problem of human pose at multiple scales. Their multi-scale information from different receptive fields are fused with concatenation, which can catch more contextual information from different features. And spatial and channel information of a given input are converted to gating factors by squeezing the feature maps to a single numeric value based on its importance in order to give each of the network channels different weights. Compared with other ConvNet-based architectures, we demonstrated that our proposed architecture achieved higher accuracy on experiments using standard benchmarks of LSP and MPII pose datasets.
This research performed tests of Video Fire Detector and criteria of installation to make suggestions regarding the criteria that must be reflected in NFSC 203 by comparing the standards of FM Approvals, UL, ISO7240 and NFPA 72. FM Standard related to Video Fire Detector test has been classified as Smoke, Flame type, but the UL Standard has classified only as a Smoke type. This research examined 6 cases of fire phenomenon detection case in ISO 7240 and 3 cases in NFPA 72, respectively. There are 15 items required for the installation standard of a Video Fire Detector and each field standard is presented as a per installation method. To apply a Video Fire Detector, the pertinent items (the definition of term, detector's classification, structure and function among its test item) must be inserted. In addition, 7 items of the fire test, i.e., the sensitivity adjustment, prevent false alarm, ambient temperature test, the effective sensitivity and detection distance and viewing angle, aging test, flood test, must be applied to the actual test. For installation in the field, the operation environment and levels of illumination, and NFSC 203 must be set, and standards relevant to the sound system, indicators' installation distance, etc. need to be inserted.
As a serial communications protocol, Modbus has become a practically standard communication protocol and is now a commonly available means of connecting industrial electronic devices. Therefore, all devices can be connected using the Modbus protocol with the measurement and remote control on ships, buildings, trains, airplanes and more. The existing Modbus that has been used is based on serial communication. Modbus TCP uses Ethernet communication based on TCP / IP which is the most widely used Internet protocol today; so, it is faster than serial communication and can be connected to the Internet of Things. In this paper, we designed an algorithm to control LED lighting in a wireless Wi-Fi environment using the Modbus TCP communication protocol, and designed and implemented a LED controller circuit that can check external environmental factors and control remotely through the integrated management system of a ship. Temperature, humidity, current and illuminance values, which are external environmental factors, are received by the controller through the sensors, and these values are communicated to the ship's integrated management system via the Modbus protocol. The Modbus can be connected to Master devices via TCP communication to monitor temperature, humidity, current, illuminance status and LED output values, and also users can change the RGB value remotely in order to change to the desired color. In addition, in order to confirm the implementation of the controller, we developed a simulated ship management system to monitor the temperature, humidity, current and illumination conditions, and change the LED color of the controller by changing the RGB value remotely.
This paper proposes a method of estimating the illumination chromaticity of a scene in which an image is taken. Storring and Bianco proposed a method of estimating illuminant chromaticity using skin color. Storring et al. used skin color distribution characteristics and black body locus, but there is a problem that the link between the locus and CIE-xy data is reduced. Bianco et al. estimated the illuminant chromaticity by comparing the skin color distribution in standard lighting with the skin color distribution in the input image. This method is difficult to measure and secure as much skin color as possible in various illumination. The proposed method can estimate the illuminant chromaticity for any input image by analyzing the relationship between the skin color information and the illuminant chromaticity. The estimation method is divided into an analysis stage and a test stage, and the data set was classified into an analysis group and a test group and used. Skin chromaticity is calculated by obtaining skin color areas from all input images of the analysis group, respectively. A mapping is obtained by analyzing the correlation between the average set of skin chromaticity and the reference illuminant chromaticity set. The calculated mapping is applied to all input images of the analysis group to estimate the illuminant chromaticity, calculate the error with the reference illuminant chromaticity, and repeat the above process until there is no change in the error to obtain a stable mapping. The obtained mapping is applied to the test group images similar to the analysis stage to estimate the illuminant chromaticity. Since there is no independent data set containing skin area and illuminant reference information, the experimental data set was made using some of the images of the Intel TAU data set. Compared to Finlayson, a similar theory-based existing method, it showed performance improvement of more than 40%, Zhang 11%, and Kim 16%.

The Integrated Ballistics Identification Systems (IBIS) is widely used for bullet and casing signature identification. The IBIS obtains a pair of ballistic signatures from two bullets (or casings) using optical microscopy, and estimates a correlation score which can represent the degree of signature match. However, this method largely depends on lighting and surface conditions because optical image contrast is primarily a function of test surface's slope, shadowing, multiple reflections, optical properties, and illumination direction. Moreover, it can be affected with surface height variation. To overcome these problems and improve the identification system, we used well known surface topographic techniques, such as confocal microscopy and white-light scanning interferometry. The measuring instruments were calibrated by a NIST step height standard and verified by a NIST sinusoidal profile roughness standard and a commercial roughness standard. We also suggest a new analysis method for the ballistic identification. In this method, the maximum cross-correlation function CCFmax is used to quantify the degree of signature match. If the compared signatures were exactly the same, CCFmax would be $100\%$.
The breast cancer has the highest occurrence rate among the female cancers, and as the living style changes, the occurrence is increasing gradually. For the breast cancer test among women, who comprises up to 50% of the total population, the mammography is mainly used as the screening test, and the accuracy control is the most important aspect of the testing. Therefore this research divided the northern part of Kyeongsangbuk-do into 4 regions and investigated the accordance ratio of examination field and light examination field, the total focus using the optical density and compression rate, and the overall maintenance of mammography within the regions. The equipments of 11 hospitals were investigated, and the 7 hospitals passed the standard level of the accordance ratio of examination field. 6 hospitals passed the standard optical density, and 7 hospitals had the passing performance in the compression rate. Fibers, group of specks, and masses within the Mammographic Accreditation Phantom scored 10, being within the standard range. However, only 3 hospitals were equipped with private development processor and illumination. The result reflects the fact that the image quality of breast is not correctly being maintained. Moreover, only 27.27% satisfied all the three categories of compression fitting, accordance ratio of examination field, and phantom image evaluation at the same time. The accuracy control must be maintained more precisely for the accurate diagnosis of breast cancer.

Along with the increase in the standard of living, the interest and awareness level of the public about environmental issues have also gradually increased. Recently, time spent on indoor activities have increased and the need for awareness and demand on methods in improving the quality of an indoor environment has been recognized. The purpose of this study is to sense the environment information through real-time monitoring of the room environment by using the IoT based technology and to maintain and improve the indoor environment to an appropriate level through the developed interlocking controller device. This provides an automatic control system in improving the indoor environment at home and other small areas like general offices in place of the traditional passive interior environmental improvement actions or large-scale facility control system. A status analysis with the relative reference values of the air quality and CO2, temperature and humidity and illumination and noise was applied through transmitting a control signal to automatic control module in accordance with the nine indoor environment standards set to improve the indoor environment.

In this study, the deposition of micrometer-scale metallic interconnects on LCD glass for the repair of open-circuit type defects is investigated. Although there had been a few studies Since 1980 s for the deposition of metallic interconnects by laser-induced chemical vapor deposition, those studies mostly used continuous wave lasers. In this work, a third harmonic Nd:YLF laser (351nm) of high repetition rates, up to 10 KHz, was used as the illumination source and $W(CO)_6$ was selected as the precursor. General characteristics of the metal deposit (tungsten) such as height, width, morphology as well as electrical properties were examined for various process conditions. Height of the deposited tungsten lines ranged from 35 to 500 nm depending on laser power and scan speed while the width was controlled between $3\~50{\mu}$ using a slit placed in the beam path. The resistivity of the deposited tungsten lines was measured to be below 1 $O\cdot{\mu}m$, which is an acceptable value according to the manufacturing standard. The tungsten lines produced at high scan speed had good surface morphology with little particles around the patterns. Experimental results demonstrated that it is likely that the deposit forms through a hybrid process, namely through the combination of photolytic and pyrolytic mechanisms.
