태양광발전용 컴퓨터기반의 집속화된 데이터 취득 시스템의 개발 및 적용 (Development and Application of A Computer-Based Integrated Data-Acquisition System for PV System Monitoring)

  • Data-Acquisition systems are widely used in Photovoltaic(PV) system application in order to analyze and optimize the performance of PV systems. In this paper, the development of a computer-based data-acquisition system and its application are described. The proposed Computer-based data-acquisition System consists of a set of sensors for measuring both environmental and electrical parameters. The collected data are first conditioned and then interfaced to PC using a data-acquisition card. The Labview program was used to further process, display on the monitor at real time and store on the hard disk. We designed and installed two stand-alone PV systems to supply different loads, which in this case a Low Pressure Sodium(LPS) 55 [W] lamp and a electrodless 55 [W] lamp. When the proposed data acquisition system is applied on the designed PV systems, Optimized system operation methods are investigated to confirm a stable load availability and extend battery life time.

  • Photovoltaic energy and wind energy are highly dependent on the season, time and extremely intermittent energy sources. Because of these reasons, in view of the reliability the photovoltaic and the wind power generation system have many problems(energy conversion, energy storage, load control etc.) comparing with conventional power plant. In order to solve these existing problems, hybrid generation system composed of photovoltaic(500W) and wind power system(400W) was suggested. But, hybrid generation system cannot always generate stable output due to the varying weather condition. So, the auxiliary power compensation unit that uses elastic energy of spiral spring was added to hybrid generation system for the present study. It was partly confirmed that hybrid generation system was generated a stable outputs by spiral spring was continuously provided to load.

  • The primary concern in designing any PV system is the determination of its optimum size. It is generally inadequate to use monthly or daily average insolation, and estimated number of continuous no sun days to determine array and battery capacities because the dynamic behavior of PV system and the stochastic nature of solar radiation also significantly influence the required array and storage capacity. Simulation method uses hourly meterological data and hourly load data to simulate the energy flow in a PV system, and predicts the system reliabilities under assumed array and battery sizes. Stand alone system for operating efficiency analysis of Photovoltaics system were discribed in this paper.

  • Economic and environmental concerns over fossil fuels encourage the development of photovoltaic(PV) energy systems. Due to the intermittent nature of solar energy. energy storage is needed in a stand-alone PV system for the purpose of ensuring continuous power flow. Grid-connected PV system that supply power in a critical load demand require to curb power fluctuation. In this case. SCB is a effectiveness in controlling power variation due to intrinsic PV system. We propose the Matlab/Simulink dynamic model and power flow characteristics of a hybrid energy system with PV and SCB.

  • There are many difficulties to supply constant power to marine facilities which operate in the sea. Especially, there is a limit to stand alone power supply systems due to the influence of weather conditions. That's why a hybrid power supply system is required to overcome these problems. This paper will describe an Electronic Anti-Fouling System (EAFS) to maximise the power efficiency for a solar - wave hybrid power generation system. A main factor reducing the efficiency of a Wave Energy Converter (WEC) is due to the attachment of aquatic life forms. Therefore the aim of this research is to develop a simulation programme to enable the design of more efficient EAFS for hybrid power generation systems and to provide valuable data for production of more efficient EAFS.

  • Photovoltaic (PV) pumping systems with maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique aims at obtaining the highest possible power to the pump under various insolation and temperature, thus overcomes the mismatch between the photovoltaic panel and the pumping load. A simple method of tracking the maximum power points and forcing the system to operate close to these points is presented in this paper. The MC68HC908GP32 micro control unit (MCU) is employed to implement the proposed MPPT controller. Experimental results will also show the performances of the photovoltaic pumping system with the MPPT technique.

  • There are increased interests in using new regeneration energy due to the effect of the latest rising oil price. On this account, various practical applications using small stand-alone PV generation system are being made. In this paper, with intent to change mercury lamp using for existing garden lamp with high flux LED, we have considered load characteristic using high flux LED modules applied to PV system. It is simulated with PSIM and made experiment set with a 75[W] solar cell module, DC-DC converter, controller and battery.

  • This paper proposes a modeling and controller design approach for a wind-diesel hybrid system including dump load. Wind turbine depends on nature such as wind speed. It causes power fluctuations of wind turbine. Excessive power fluctuation at stand-alone power grid is even worse than large-scale power grid. The proposed control scheme for power quality is fuzzy PI controller. This controller has advantages of PI and fuzzy controller. The proposed model is carried out by using Matlab/Simulink simulation program. In the simulation study, the proposed controller is compared with a conventional PI controller. Simulation results show that the proposed controller is more effective against disturbances caused by wind speed and load variation than the PI controller, and thus it contributes to a better quality wind-diesel hybrid power system.

  • This paper describes microprocessor-based control of photovoltaic power conditioning system. where the microprocessor is responsible for control of output power in accordance with the generated array DC power. The microprocessor includes the control algorithm of maximum power point tracking and converter control algorithm. In this power, we have designed a MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracker) algorithm with environment factors and a PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) algorithm for high efficiency. The controller has been tested in the laboratory with the power conditioner and shows excellent performance.

  • Recently interest on DC systems has been grown up extensively for more efficient connection with renewable energy. During the operation, there happens DC_link voltage variations. This paper focuses on the DC voltage stabilization applied in stand-alone DC microgrid to improve the system stability by keeping the voltage within limits. Batteries and a variable speed diesel generator cover the shortage of power after all available renewable energy is consumed. Load shedding or power generation reduction should automatically takes place if the maximum tolerable voltage variation is exceeded. PSIM based simulation results are presented to evaluate the performance of the proposed control measures.
