  • This study was conducted to evaluate the subjective ideas about the determinants of quality in ambulatory care unit among outpatients and medical staff of a university hospital, and to compare the differences of the ideas, between patients themselves and hospital staff. A self-administered questionnaire survey was conducted covering 799 outpatients and 190 hospital staff in March, 1998. The questionnaire included general characteristics and 26 determinants of ambulatory care quality. The following are summaries of the findings: 1. Both of outpatients and hospital staff perceived, "Physician's knowledge" as the most important determinant of medical care quality. 2. In respect of 7 determinants related to physician's knowledge and skill, both outpatients and hospital staff perceived "physician's knowledge and skill" as important determinants. The scores of determinants such as, "Not doing unnecessary examinations", and "Assignment of adequate number of patients and duty schedule for the physician" were significantly different between outpatients and hospital staff. 3. In respect of 4 determinants related to doctor-patient relationship, both outpatients and hospital staff perceived "attention to patient's complaints" as the most important determinant. The scores related to the determinants such as "kindness of physician" and "explanation of treatment outcome" were significantly different between outpatients and hospital staff. 4. Among the amenities related determinants, "Modern facilities and equipments" were perceived as the most important determinant in both group. 5. In respect of 8 determinants related to non-financial accommodation, outpatients perceived, "Waiting hours for treatment" as the most important determinant, and hospital staff perceived, "Kindness of hospital staff". 6. In respect of 4 determinants related to financial accommodation, outpatients perceived, "Fare account of medical cost" as the most important determinant, and hospital staff perceived, "Increasing reimbursements". Further comprehensive research should be made on the evaluation of perceptions of medical care quality, both of outpatient and inpatient care, among patients and hospital staff. • In this research, in order to optimize the multi-objective function effectively, we suggested the optimization model to maximize the total destruction of ground targets and minimize the total damage of aircrafts and cost of air munitions by using goal programming. To satisfy the various variables and constraints of this mathematical model, the concept of air strike package is applied. As a consequence, effective attack can be possible by identifying the prior ground targets more quickly. This study can contribute to maximize the ROK air force's combat power and preservation of high value air asset in the war.

  • It was found to have hacking attempts totaling 115,000 to target the public sector since 2011 to 2015. National Intelligence Service was conducting survey information security management states of a wide range of national-public institutions up to 800 including government agencies in the 2012, while instructing to complement shortcomings. However, there is still going to occur invasions, such as Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power hacking. Even though KHNP's security personnel was only 53 people, in the total 20,000 workforces, got the almost perfect score in the 2013 and 2014 related to information security personnel. Through them, we can confirm that between the organizational response to information security incidents and something theoretical is very far. In this paper, we suggest solutions not using the professional staff management but the non-professional staff management to upgrade the level of public agencies information security.

  • Purpose: This study was done to describe utilization status of emergency medical service for children at one university affiliated hospital located in Seoul. Data were obtained from the medical records of patients under 13 years of age who visited the ER from January 1 to December 31, 2006. Method: Medical records missing the time of discharge were excluded in the analysis of waiting time, which resulted in 19,766 cases. Data were analyzed using SPSS WIN 14.0 version. Result: There were slightly more boys (58.4%), average age of the children was 3.97 years of age. More children at the aged 1 to 3 years (51.3%) visited the ER. Fever was the most frequent complaint: 5,180 cases (24.38%). The other complaints were head or facial laceration (10.55%), vomiting (9.63%), abdominal pain (8.06%), cough (7.67%), and painful limb swelling (6.34%). Average waiting time before the first medical examination was 17 minutes, and average ER stay time was 3 hours and 23 minutes. Conclusion: The results suggest the need to assign a nurse specialist for pediatric ER to provide more efficient care for the children. Also, extra staff assignment during the evening shift or extending office hours of local pediatricians should be considered.

  • Scheduling is an important tool for a manufacturing system, where it can have a major impact on the productivity of a production process. In manufacturing systems, the purpose of scheduling is to minimize the production time and costs, by assigning a production facility when to make, with which staff, and on which equipment. Production scheduling aims to maximize the efficiency of the operation and reduce the costs. In order to find an optimal solution to manufacturing scheduling problems, it attempts to solve complex combinatorial optimization problems. Unfortunately, most of them fall into the class of NP-hard combinatorial problems. Genetic algorithm (GA) is one of the generic population-based metaheuristic optimization algorithms and the best one for finding a satisfactory solution in an acceptable time for the NP-hard scheduling problems. GA is the most popular type of evolutionary algorithm. In this survey paper, we address firstly multiobjective hybrid GA combined with adaptive fuzzy logic controller which gives fitness assignment mechanism and performance measures for solving multiple objective optimization problems, and four crucial issues in the manufacturing scheduling including a mathematical model, GA-based solution method and case study in flexible job-shop scheduling problem (fJSP), automatic guided vehicle (AGV) dispatching models in flexible manufacturing system (FMS) combined with priority-based GA, recent advanced planning and scheduling (APS) models and integrated systems for manufacturing.

  • The purpose of this study is to understand the college students' needs for software curriculum which based on surveys from educational satisfaction of the software lecture evaluation, as well as to find out the improvement plan by applying the text content analysis method. The research method used the text content analysis program to calculate the frequency of words occurrence, key words selection, co-occurrence frequency of key words, and analyzed the text center and network analysis by using the network analysis program. As a result of this research, the decent points of the software education network are mentioned with 'lecturer' is the most frequently occurrence after then with 'kindness', 'student', 'explanation', 'coding'. The network analysis of the shortage points has been the most mention of 'lecture', 'wish to', 'student', 'lecturer', 'assignment', 'coding', 'difficult', and 'announcement' which are mentioned together. The comprehensive network analysis of both good and shortage points has compared among key words, we can figure out difference among the key words: for example, 'group activity or task', 'assignment', 'difficulty on level of lecture', and 'thinking about lecturer'. Also, from this difference, we can provide that the lack of proper role of individual staff at group activities, difficult and excessive tasks, awareness of the difficulty and necessity of software education, lack of instructor's teaching method and feedback. Therefore, it is necessary to examine not only how the grouping of software education (activities) and giving assignments (or tasks), but also how carried out group activities and tasks and monitored about the contents of lectures, teaching methods, the ratio of practice and design thinking.

  • In this study, the current status of the public library steering committee, which is operated in accordance with Article 30 Paragraphs 2 and 3 of the Libraries Act, was examined and understood through a survey, and the direction of the promotion and policy for revitalizing the steering committee was sought moving forward. As a result of the analysis performed, the number of operations is once or twice a year, and the decisions of the steering committee meetings are reported to their supervisors, yet the reporting and disclosure of the meeting minutes are not mandatory in terms of regulations, etc., and while the importance was recognized, it turned out that the operation was carried out formally due to the lack of personnel in charge. The primary factors for revitalizing the operation were investigated as the structure of the committee, the responsibilities and authority of the committee, and the assignment of dedicated staff, etc. While there was a high perception that the enactment of a standard ordinance (proposal) was necessary, the concerns about the inhibition of autonomy were also mentioned, and hence, it is necessary to enact a standard ordinance(proposal) that sufficiently guarantees autonomy. To revitalize the steering committee, it is necessary to find various utilization and operational plans by considering holding regular meetings, supplementing systems and regulations that can reflect meeting decisions, establishing subcommittees, and assigning dedicated staff.
