초소형 광디스크의 보호층 두께 편차 보상용 1축 엑츄에이터 (1-Axis Actuator for Compensating Focus Error and SA due to the Variation of Cover-Layer Thickness in Small-Form-Factor Optical Disk)

  • Technological advance in information technology has sparked the necessity of small form factor (SFF) optical disk for mobile devices. Small form factor optical disk is highly anticipated to be a next generation storage device because it can be used for a cost-effective way compared with solid state memory. For the application to the 5 mm height small-form-factor optical disk drive, we have presented an optical flying head and swing arm actuator. In this study, we propose a small 1-axis actuator for compensating ficus error and SA due to the variation of cover-layer thickness in the cover-layered small optical disk. The main design issues of the 1-axis actuator are the realization of compact structure and the new support structure of the actuator: Finally, the compensating principle and performance of the 1-axis actuator will be explained.

  • This paper proposed an optimal plate spring design for the optical image stabilizer in mobile phones. The voice-coil motor (VCM) with plate spring is the smallest, lowest-cost solution for auto focus on the market today and it is also the simplest to implement. The VCM is selected in this paper for auto focusing. However, the design process is complex due to the many design variables coupled to each other and some constraints of each directional motion caused by the characteristics of plate spring. Because of the complex formulation of the design objective, a plate spring design is proposed through the design of experiments to find the optimal design satisfying design constraints.

PID 제어기에 의한 소형 로봇용 그리퍼의 힘 제어 (PID Force Control of a miniature robot Gripper)

  • This paper is concerned with the theoretical and experimental study on the force conrtrol of a miniature robotic gripper. The gripper is an uniform flexible cantilever equipped with a distributed set of compact force sensor. As an actuator piezoelectric acturator, piezoelectric acturator is fixed with cupper plate at which the beam is clamped. The mathematical model of the assembled electro-mechaincal system is developed. The force sensor is described by a set of concentrated mass-spring system. The formulated equations of motion are applied to he study of a control problem where the gripper is commanded to grip an object The usefulness of the PID control technique is verified by experiment.

  • 고체 모터의 연소 중 피치, 요 축의 추력 제어를 위해 플렉시블 씰을 사용하였다. 수압시험장치는 챔버, 구동기, 카운터포텐시어미터 등을 이용한다. 압력별 구동 토크 측정 및 축방향 밀림량 측정을 수행하여 구동 성능을 평가한다. 시험 결과 플렉시블 씰의 성능은 설계 조건을 만족하며 수압시험장치가 정상적으로 작동하는 것을 확인하였다. 본 연구에서는 플렉시블 씰의 성능을 측정하기 위한 수압시험장치의 구성, 작동 방법, 성능 검증 방법을 정리하였다.

  • Nowadays, the improvement and development of Multi-media and information & communication technology is rapidly processed. They need large data storage capacity. So that, many studies and researches in data storage have been carried out. According to them, the data storage capacity has been increased. But the limitation of storage capacity is happened for several problems. One of them is spot & pit size in optical and magnetic data storage and another is the resolution of actuators. The problems in spot & pit size are covered by new data storage methods-- for examples, AFM(Atomic Force Microscopy), MO(Magneto-optical) system, and NFR(Near-Field decoding) system etc. But the resolution limit of an actuator was not developed and doesn\`t follow up the development of spot & pit size. Because of them, we should improve a resolution of an actuator. Especially, in this paper an actuator if studied and designed for NFR (in using SIL(Solid Immersion Lens) system. It is a dual stage actuator, which consists of a Fine actuator and a Coarse actuator. and should desire 100nm accuracy. Its actuating force generation method is VCM(Voice Coil Motor). The Fine actuator is composed of 4-leaf springs and a bobbin wrapped by coil. The Coarse actuator has Coils and 3-Roller bearings. Also, The Characteristics of designed actuator for NFR system is estimated by Sine-Swept mode and LDV(Laser Doppler Vibro-meter).

차세대 리소그라피 시스템을 위한 압전구동기의 동적 해석 (Dynamic Analysis of the Piezo-Actuator for a New Generation Lithography System)

  • A piezo-actuator is an important component for an E-beam lithography system. But it is very difficult to model its characteristics due to nonlinearities such as hysteresis and creep, to the input voltage. In this paper, one-axis micro stage with a piezo-actuator is modeled including the nonlinear properties. Hysteresis and creep are modeled as the first order differential equation and a time-dependent logarithmic function, respectively. The dynamic motion of the stage is also modeled as a mass-spring-damper system and the parameters are determined by utilizing the system identification technique. The simulation tool for a micro stage is constructed using the commercial software and its simulation results are compared with the experimental data.

  • For past decade, medium voltage circuit breakers have used the spring-driven mechanical system for interrupting of electric power. However, these mechanisms have many disadvantages of high power consumption, mechanical control components and electrical switching ones for the coil current. Recently, the vacuum interrupter operated by permanent magnet actuator gives outlook on improved characteristic, higher reliability and cost price reduction as well as the feature of simple structure and few components. This paper deals with the dynamic characteristics of permanent magnet actuator used in the medium voltage distribution systems. Coupled finite element method is used to analysis the dynamic characteristics of permanent magnetic actuator and we compared with those of conventional ones.

밸브 구동용 고속 리니어 액추에이터 (A Design of High-Speed Linear Actuator for Valve)

  • The main design factors which effect on operating speed of linear actuator for valve operation are mass of plunger, electromagnetic motive force, inductance, and return spring, and these factors are not independent but related with each other in view point of design and electromagnetic theory. It is impossible to increase the operating speed by only change the value of any one design factor. The change of any one value results in change of any value related it in various design factors. This paper presents a speed increasing method of linear actuator using a solenoid design method by some governing equations which are composed of electromagnetic theory and empirical knowledge and permanent magnets as assistant material, and proved the propriety by experiments.

  • The micromachined variable optical attenuator(VOA) was presented in the paper. The VOA has two single mode fiber(SMF) aligned with free space and symmetric parallel plate actuator with microshutter, which can control a amount of light by driving the actuator. In the paper, analysis on driving performances of the VOA was performed and can be reduced threshold voltage through the decreasing displacement actuating range. This paper presents a VOA that is fabricated using bosch deep silicon etching process with silicon on insulator(SOD wafer. The VOA consists of driving electrode, ground electrode, actuating microshutter, and mechanical stopper. In this VOA, actuating shutter is driven by electrostatic force and the threshold voltage is close to 28V, 46V come along with the spring width of 5${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, 7${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ respectively. Attenuation range is measured from 2.4㏈ to 16.7㏈.

  • The plunger speed of solenoid actuator is affected by mass of plunger, magnetic motive force, inductance, and return spring. These factors are not independent but related with each other according to design characteristics of solenoid actuator. So, it is impossible to change the designed value for the purpose of increasing plunger speed. In this study, we have analyzed the characteristics of high-speed solenoid actuator having a non-magnetic ring which plays a role to concentrate the effective magnetic flux into plunger. For more detailed analysis, we have performed FEM analysis and decided the optimal attaching position and length on the guide tube based on these results. And, we proved the propriety of the non-magnetic ring effect by experiments.
