  • The purpose of this paper is to study on the construction of roadbed with environmental friendly soil amendment agent. The special amendment agent used in this study is mainly composed of inorganic metal salts such as sodium chloride, magnesium chloride, potassium chloride, calcium chloride,, thus is friendly to the environment, and has a function of soil-cement-agent solidification. Various components of this agent weaken the negative function of humic acid and decompose humic acid itself. Then, the calcium cation of the cement can now be made contact directly to the soil surface. The project of local road demonstration of roadbed construction with special soil treatment agent was peformed in Northeast Thailand on August 1999 by the sponsor of Highway Department of Thailand. A series of field experiments including unconfined compressive strength were carried out to investigate the physical and mechanical characteristics of solidified roadbed treated by this solidifying agent. The results of this research showed that the roadbed using poor soil could be efficiently constructed by treatment of this amendment agent.

  • International Geothermal Association (IGA) and Geothermal Implementing Agreement (GIA) under Committee on Energy Research & Technology (CERT) of International Energy Agency (IEA) are the two major international organizations leading geothermal research, development and deployment (RD&D). IGA has been established in 1988 by geothermal societies in Europe and America and presently consists of 23 affiliated societies. Current number of members of IGA reaches 2,000 from 65 countries and its most important activity may be to organize the World Geothermal Congress (WGC) every five years. IEA-GIA has been established in 1993 and its executive committee (ExCo) consists of 11 countries, 1 organization (EC) and 3 sponsor companies. Korea became a member of ExCo on September 2005 through Korea Institute of Geoscience & Mineral Resources (KIGAM) as representative. KIGAM is also actively participating in Direct Use Annex through a task leader of several tasks.

  • This paper investigates the effect of competition on innovative activity. In the research contest, the foremost reason for limiting entry into tournaments is to raise the level of contestant's effort and to make the firms compete so that high value of innovation will be procured. Thus, a sponsor (or government) needs to take account into effort-inducing effect as well as effort-reducing effect from competition when she restricts entry. In this paper, this competition effect will be analyzed for the model of procurement for innovation, and it is shown that the individual effort level is not monotonic to the number of contestants.

  • With the increase of using Internet in clothing shopping, the gathering of customer information based on online research is emphasized. The purposes of this paper summarized the several aspects of on-line research as new data collection methods and investigate some characteristics through reviewing extant literature on online research. We explored a conceptual model of response behavior for the purpose of the literature in a manner which enhance a deeper understanding of online response behavior. This model was focused on exchange paradigm instead of a "help-the-sponsor" approach. The proposed conceptual framework included questionnaire design, response incentive, commitment, convenience, expertise, response behavior (satisfaction and attitude), and online research performance.

The result of the study can be summed up as follows; First, the average individual consumer's surplus measures approximately from 29,700 to 30,100 Won. Second, the total consumer's surplus, that is the social value of the festival, ranges approximately from 7.6 to 7.7 billion Won. The most beneficiary of the event is turned up to be the people who are living in the outside of Ham-Pyung and go on a tour there. For that reason, the central government looks to have the obligation to support and to sponsor the festival.

  • This paper gives an overview of the CBUF project. The work described is the collective effort of 11 CBUF partners, laboratories, universities, industries, in 8 countries. It became possible to do this research thanks to the European Commission interest in the burning behaviour of upholstered furniture and their willingness to sponsor this large effort. The opportunity to work with the many of the most prominent fire researchers and furniture experts have been extremely rewarding. All the expertise of these scientists have resulted in a lot of research results that are presented. The article only gives the main findings and conclusions of the project, namely the presentation of the fire safety design procedure of the CBUF project. Other articles will deal with specific modelling topics and an extensive description of the project can be found in the final CBUF report EUR 16477 EN.

  • Sponsorship is one of the communication tools that have been used for a long time to raise corporate awareness and establish favorable customer attitude. This study tried to examine the effect of corporate sponsorship, which has recently been attracting increasing attention. We empirically examined whether sponsorship and program fit, identification with a company or brand, and corporate credibility affect the reputation of the sponsoring company. For this, We conducted a survey using a structured questionnaire for 263 college students, and the collected data were analyzed through a structural equation model along with factor analysis. As a result of the study, it was found that sponsorship and program suitability had a positive effect on corporate reputation, and brand identification and reliability also had a positive effect on corporate reputation. Based on the results of the study, it was possible to obtain the implication that it is important to increase the fit of the sponsor and sponsorship program, to improve the corporate brand identification and corporate credibility in order to increase the corporate reputation through sponsorship.

  • In this paper, we propose a donation game platform using blockchain to revitalize the shrinking donation market. The platform is designed to ensure transparency and user reliability in the use of ethereum's smart-track function and to attract interest from donors and encourage continued donations by introducing games into the donation process through donor organizations to address the opaque nature of the donation and use of the funds and the result of the donation portfolio. It also develops a donation ecosystem that benefits donors, donors and sponsor companies alike by platforming them.
