사이버 물리 시스템에서 효율적인 파일 전송을 위한 커널 레벨 분할 및 결합 연산의 설계와 구현 (Design and Implementation of Kernel-Level Split and Merge Operations for Efficient File Transfer in Cyber-Physical System)

  • In the cyber-physical system, big data collected from numerous sensors and IoT devices is transferred to the Cloud for processing and analysis. When transferring data to the Cloud, merging data into one single file is more efficient than using the data in the form of split files. However, current merging and splitting operations are performed at the user-level and require many I / O requests to memory and storage devices, which is very inefficient and time-consuming. To solve this problem, this paper proposes kernel-level partitioning and combining operations. At the kernel level, splitting and merging files can be done with very little overhead by modifying the file system metadata. We have designed the proposed algorithm in detail and implemented it in the Linux Ext4 file system. In our experiments with the real Cloud storage system, our technique has achieved a transfer time of up to only 17% compared to the case of transferring split files. It also confirmed that the time required can be reduced by up to 0.5% compared to the existing user-level method.

Technique of grouting in silty-fine sand with abundant water: Practice in Beijing

  • In NATM tunnels, water inrush and tunnel collapse are often encountered in silty-fine sand with abundant water during excavation. Because of the special engineering properties of this stratum, grouting effect is difficult to achieve as expected, and it is a major problem in the field of civil engineering. Taking Beijing Metro Line 10 as a case, we applied PFC3D to simulate the process of grouting in this stratum. By analyzing the law of grout diffusing and porosity change under different grouting pressures, the study found that grouting was a process of splitting, and grouting pressure played an important role. The numerical results were verified by theoretical calculation analysis, and the grouting parameters were determined under the various grouting pressures for practice. After the excavation of this tunnel, the concretions in silty-fine sand are similar to the results of PFC3D simulation, which indicates that the grouting mechanism is confirmed by field observation further.

GPU 기반의 묶음 LOD 기법을 이용한 지형 렌더링의 가속화 기법 (An Acceleration Technique of Terrain Rendering using GPU-based Chunk LOD)

  • 대용량 지형 데이터는 최신 그래픽 하드웨어를 사용해도 실시간으로 표현하기가 어렵다. 일반적으로 이런 대용량 지형 데이터를 실시간에 처리하기 위해 연속 상세 단계 기법 같은 메쉬 간략화 기법이 사용된다. 하지만 기하 분할(geometry splitting)과 같이 기존의 GPU기반 사진트리를 사용하는 기법은 트리의 깊이가 깊어질수록 많은 정점을 사용하고 이를 다시 재전송하기 때문에 성능이 저하되며 텍스처를 이용해 트리를 구성하기 때문에 트리의 용량이 커지는 단점이 있다. 이런 단점을 해결하기 위해 본 논문에서는 사진트리 기반의 묶음(chunk)으로 구성된 상세 단계 선별 기법을 GPU에서 처리하는 실시간 지형 렌더링 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 기하 분할 기법의 단점을 해결하기 위해 트리 탐색을 제한하고 테셀레이터(tessellator)에서 묶음을 생성한 후 렌더링함으로써 트리 탐색을 줄이고 묶음을 GPU에서 바로 생성할 수 있어 효율적으로 지형을 렌더링할 수 있다.

  • Data storage and data communication currently pose a major problems for all parties involved with power quality and power system monitoring. The Problem aries from the tremendous amount of data involved. There is a common desire in the power industry to find new techniques for high-accuracy data compression and data storage. This paper introduces a data compression technique that is very suitable for application to power quality waveforms. The proposed technique is applied in splitting the monitored signal into two components. Those are stationary and nonstationary components. Each component is compressed and encoded.

  • This paper presents a two-dimensional horizontal implicit model to general circulation in estuaries and coastal seas. The model is developed in non-orthogonal curvilinear coordinates system, using the Interpolating Matrix Method (IMM), in combination with a technique of multi-domain. In the propose model, the Saint-Venant equations are solved by a splitting-up technique, in the successive steps; convection, diffusion and wave propagation. The ability of the proposed model to deal with full scale nature is illustrated by the interpretation of a dye-tracing experiment in the Gironde estuary.

Two-Dimensional Adaptive Mesh Generation Algorithm and its Application with Higher-Order Compressible Flow Solver

  • A combined procedure for two-dimensional Delaunay mesh generation algorithm and an adaptive remeshing technique with higher-order compressible flow solver is presented. A pseudo-code procedure is described for the adaptive remeshing technique. The flux-difference splitting scheme with a modified multidimensional dissipation for high-speed compressible flow analysis on unstructured meshes is proposed. The scheme eliminates nonphysical flow solutions such as the spurious bump of the carbuncle phenomenon observed from the bow shock of the flow over a blunt body and the oscillation in the odd-even grid perturbation in a straight duct for the Quirk's odd-even decoupling test. The proposed scheme is further extended to achieve higher-order spatial and temporal solution accuracy. The performance of the combined procedure is evaluated on unstructured triangular meshes by solving several steady-state and transient high-speed compressible flow problems.

  • An excellent mesh construction is of Importance in yielding good results of finite element analysis. The new mesh generation algorithm, which offsets boundaries inward, was developed on the basis of a looping method. An user interface technique and automatic splitting lines which both divide a given domain into subdomains manually or automatically, were used. In addition, the separation method has advantages to prevent the large scale of element size and to control numbers of nodes and elements. This new mesh generation algorithm was proved in practice.

Nano-structuring of Transparent Materials by Femtosecond Laser Pulses

  • Using tightly focused femtosecond laser pulses, we produce an optical waveguide and optical devices in transparent materials. This technique has the potential to generate not only channel waveguides, but also three-dimensional optical devices. In this paper, an optical splitter and U-grooves, which are used for fiber alignment, are simultaneously fabricated in a fused silica glass using near-IR femtosecond laser pulses. The fiber aligned optical splitter has a low insertion loss, less than 4㏈, including an intrinsic splitting loss of 3㏈ and excess loss due to the passive alignment of a single-mode fiber. Finally, we demonstrate the utility of the femtosecond laser writing technique by fabricating gratings at the surface and inside the silica glass.

대용량 RDF 데이터의 처리 성능 개선을 위한 효율적인 저장구조 설계 및 구현 (A Design and Implementation of Efficient Storage Structure for a Large RDF Data Processing)

  • 본 논문에서는 대용량 RDF의 효율적인 저장을 위하여 관계 정보와 데이터 정보를 분리한 새로운 방식의 저장 구조를 제안하였다. 제안 방식은 기존의 저장 방식에 비해 데이터의 중복을 최소화하여 대량의 RDF 데이터를 효율적으로 저장할 수 있다. 또한 본 논문에서 제안한 저장 방식을 이용하여 트리플 형태의 관계 정보 릴레이션과 데이터 정보 릴레이션에서 필요한 데이터를 분리 검색하여 결합하는 방식에 의해 RDF 데이터에 대한 질의 성능을 개선할 수 있다. 본 연구 결과는 RDF 데이타를 이용한 전자상거래, 시맨틱 웹, 지식관리 등과 같은 응용 분야에서 대량의 RDF 데이터의 효율적인 관리를 통하여 질의 성능을 개선할 수 있는 기반 기술로 사용할 수 있다.

IS-2000 시스템을 위한 SS-OTD에 관한 연구 (A Novel Transmit Diversity Technique for IS-2000 Systems)

  • 본 논문에서는 IS-2000 시스템에 적합한 심볼 분할 OTD (orthogonal transmit diveristy)를 제안하였다. 심볼 분할 OTD는 Meyer가 제안한 심볼 분할과 OTD를 결합하여 최대 경로 다이버시티 및 시간 다이버시티 이득을 얻기에 IS-2000 순방향 성능을 개선시킬 수 있다. 이를 IS-2000 표준의 순방향 fundamental 채널에 대하여 시뮬레이션을 통해 확인하였다. 그리고, 그 결과를 기존의 IS-2000 표준에서 채택된 OTD와 STS (space-time spreading)의 성능과 비교하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 방법을 IS-2000 시스템에 적용할 경우, 1% FER (frame error rate)을 얻기 위한 송신전력이 OTD의 경우보다 0.5-7.7dB 정도 감소되어 STS의 성능과 거의 일치하였다. 뿐만 아니라, 송신신호의 PAR(peak-to-average power ratio)가 STS보다 적으므로, 기지국 전력증폭기와 같은 RF 회로의 복잡도를 감소시킬 수 있는 장점이 있다.
