  • The recent machine tools are requested so high-quality processing and productivity increasing. Therefore, it is so necessary to develop technology fur high-speed and high-precision. This thesis touches on the development of high speed and intellectual line center. At first, the line center is necessary that strong structure, compact structure and light weight design for high-speed processing and transfer. So, it is necessary that examination of new materials and structures for light-weight and control devices for precision processing. So. it is going to make mention of the process of 1st model production for the above-mentioned based on test model production and evaluation.

  • Recently, Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(PMSM) drives are widely used for industrial applications due to its high efficiency and high power factor control strategy. PMSM generally have two classifications such as the SPMSM(Surface Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors) and IPMSM(Inter Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors). IPMSA has economical merits over SPMSM in higher speed range, mechanical robustness, and higher power rate by the geometric difference. The maximum torque operation in IPMSM is realized by the current angle control which is to utilize additional reluctance torque due to a rotor saliency. In traction, spindle and compressor drives, constant power operation with higher speed range are desirable. This is simply achieved in the DC motor drives by the reduction of the field current as the speed is increased. However, in the PMSM, direct control of the magnet flux is not available. The airgap flux can be weakened by the appropriate current angle control to demagnetize. In this paper, the control method of optimal current vector in IPMSM is described in order to obtain the maximum torque or maximum output with the speed and load variations. The applied algorithm is realized by the proto system with torque and speed control Experimental results show this approach is satisfied for the high performance servo applications.   • IPMSM (Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) is widely used in many applications such as an electric vehicle, compressor drives of air conditioner and machine tool spindle drives. In order to maximize the efficiency in such applications, this paper is proposed the optimal control method of the armature current. The controllable electrical loss which consists of the copper loss and the iron loss can be minimized by the optimal control of the armature current. The minimization of loss is possible to realize efficiency optimization control for the proposed IPMSM. The proposed control algorithm is applied to IPMSM drive system, the operating characteristics controlled by efficiency optimization control are examined in detail by simulation.

  • Dr. Lawrence H Jones developed innovative approach for the treatment of neuromuscular and musculo-skeletal disorders such as fibromyalgia, myofacial pain syndrome, any other muscle pain. This technique is called Strain/Counterstrain technique which uses effect of neuromuscular reflex for treatment of strain. First, Relieving spinal or other joint pain by passively putting the joint into its position of greatest comfort; secondly relieving pain by reduction and arrest of the continuing inappropriate proprioceptor activity. This was accomplished by markedly shortening the muscle that contains the malfunctioning muscle spindle by applying. mild strain to its antagonists. In other words, the inappropriate strain reflex is inhibited by application of counterstrain. Many other techniques have been developed for treating of muscle pain due to somatic dysfunction, but we want to introduce you to strain/counterstrain technique because this is basic concept and theory of Chum therapy for controling motor system.

  • Cogging torque is often a principal source of vibration and acoustic noise in high precision spindle motor applications. In this paper, cogging torque is analytically calculated using energy method to show that Fourier spectra of airgap permeance function and airgap MMF function are the most important design parameters to control cogging torque. To control these functions, stator pole shoe pairing and magnet arc design are proposed to minimize cogging torque. As for optimization technique, genetic algorithm is applied to handle trade-off effects of design parameters. Results show that the proposed method can reduce the cogging torque effectively.

  • The cutting processes used for monitoring engineering includes analysis and feedback about strange conditions, tools collision and tools wear in real time, for improving the working ratio of equipment and productivity. In this study, we proposed monitoring using profibus to increase the reliability as the most important factor for cutting monitoring. The profibus can increase the reliability of cutting monitoring for cutting torque of a main spindle motor and a feed motors through PLC-based interface.

  • The demands for robotic and automatic system are continually increasing in manufacturing fields. There have been many studies to monitor and predict the system, but they have mainly focused upon measuring cutting force, and current of motor spindle, and upon using acoustic sensor, etc. In this study, time series sequence of cutting force was acquired by taking advantage of piezoelectric type tool dynamometer. Radial cutting force was obtained from it and was available for useful observation data. The parameter was estimated using PAA(parameter adaptation algorithm) from observation data. ARMA(auto regressive moving average) model was selected for system model and second order was decided according to parameter estimation. Uncorrelation test was also carried out to verify convergence of parameter.

  • Micro/meso cutting is getting more important in the fields of precision machining technology. A micro-turning lathe is one of parts to consist the Micro Factory. It accepts stepwise motion actuators that are used for feeding system instead of the conventional mechanism. It is consisted of two Piezoelectric ceramics; one is for feeding the slider, and the other is for clamping the slider in the guide way of the body. The linearity and positional accuracy of the actuators are good enough for high precision motion. The spindle unit is operated with DC motor on the top of the slider. The motion is communicated with miniaturized linear encoder attached on each side of axis. A mono crystal diamond tool is used for cutting tool. This micro-lathe has been made a machining experiment to see the characteristics of micro-machining.

Maximum Torque Control of PMSM Drive in Field weakening Region (약계자 영역에서 PMSM 드라이브의 최대 토크제어)

  • Permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM) is widely used in many applications such as an electric vehicle. compressor drives of air conditioner and machine tool spindle drives. PMSM drive system have become a popular choice in various application, due to their excellent power to weight ratio. This paper is proposed maximum torque control for field weakening operation of PMSM drive. At low speeds, the reluctance torque is used to maximize the output for a given current level. This is achieved maximum torque per ampere(MTPA) by selecting an optimal value of the direct stator current component. At high speeds, the system reaches a point at which the inverter will not be able to supply the desired voltage. In this case it is necessary to make use of an increased value the direct current component. The proposed control algorithm is applied to PMSM drive system, the operating characteristics controlled by maximum torque control are examined in detail by simulation.
